It has an awesome sound. But it's quiter. Most race tracks have noise limits now. For example Nürburgring has a 130db noise limit.

It's about 130dB. It was the loudest car at LeMans last year.

Very impressive... And what's impressive about RWB? Exactly.... And I've never heard of a Purist give a RWB a pass just because it had a heritage livery.. @@hansdietrich83 Porsche are moving to hybrids and by 2024, most of the lineup will be hybrids or 4 cylinder or even 2 cylinder turbocharged which sound absolutely terrible. Look at the sound difference between the naturally aspirated or even the air-cooled engines versus the 4 cylinder turbos. The reasoning is that Porsche are having to adhere to emissions and other SJW related legislations but that is killing the soul and essence of the Porsche sports cars, the sound and the fury of those sublime engines. That is gradually being phased out and that's incredibly sad.

As Rodran said, you have to know the history behind these two. Basically, Benjamin is the guy who gives JP (very famous German Tuner/ TV Host/ RU-vidr) access to all sorts of crazy porsche models. In 2018, JP received a new porsche from the museum to drive every month (not just for videos, also daily driving). We’re not talking Cayman S or Boxster, more like 918 and upwards. Porsche are not the only ones doing this; Audi actually started by letting him hop into prototypes like the TT clubsport turbo, with that story ending all the way with him driving that car next to an S1 on pikes peak. He also drove the Vision GT car on the Nordschleife. TL;dr: This is more of an insider-fan-edition than a normal top 5 video, as the guy is only really known in Germany and both are really good friends.

I'll add that he also has a LOUD personality so in this case it makes sense.

You need to hear a 917 in person. It's obviously road car versus race car, but the 917 sound is simply unforgettably amazing

Bei dem Punkt, dass die Messungen hirnrissig sind, muss ich dir ebenfalls zustimmen, da die Messungen aufgrund wechselnder Umgebung und anderer äußerer Einflüsse alles andere als normgerecht sind.

Anthony Maranto I don't think that it is possible to improve everything while making it lighter. You can make every component on a car lighter but over time you have add new stuff. Safety, electronics and comfort are wanted by everyone.

gepixelt Definitely-but I’m surprised more automakers aren’t focusing on weight as much because it improves fuel economy, performance, and even reliability to an extent as the parts aren’t as stressed. Safety is probably the main reason behind high weight, as well as the size of cars growing over time

The host is fine and Jean Pierre is a very charismatic guy and Benjamin isn't bad either. They just need to ditch that narrator at the start as it just too focused on the US even though it's a German car manufacturer

Akash Wimalananda actually some of these cars you can hear from miles away but that’s not the point. Sound levels are based on many factors (room acoustics, distance and etc). It is totally normal for a straight pipe engine to produce +130 dB within 1m.
