Hi Jeff. Fantastic videos and invaluable insight for Porsche owners. I have a question if that’s ok. The raybestos site only shows the option for the 7DT70 steels and frictions. You say the frictions are the same on the 7DT45 and 7DT70, but the steels are different. Is this definitely the case. I’d like the option to be able to fix my clutch in the future and it would be good to know I could buy these parts.

I've never had the Raybestos product in my hand, but from measuring the discs and looking at the Raybestos specs this seems to be the case. From what I've seen with auto clutches over the years, it's the friction discs that wear and fail, not the steels. So I would expect a rebuild would simply replace the friction discs. I also don't think it would be an issue to replace the whole pack with the 7DT70 parts, as the difference between the two would be sorted in the calibration. Never tested the theory, but this is how I would approach the problem if needed.

@@jeffrichardsoncardiy thanks for your reply. That makes sense. Please keep making these videos as I know they are very appreciated in the Porsche community.

hi Jeff, I have notice there's two cluch pack option. one is for the 3.6 engine and the other is for the turbo. I'm wondering its there any way to identify the cluch pack from the outside ?

For the Clutch pack. Is the clutch pack submerged in the Pentosin FFL-3 fluid? or the 75w-90 gear fluid? Thank you for the great videos

The clutch gets the Pentosin via the valve body. It's not immersed. It just gets pressure for lube and the two clutches.

Jeff, how 'robust' do you think these dual-clutch packs are? Supposedly, they're 'lifetime'... 100k miles on average? More for average road miles vs track time? I've got a 2014 Cayman w/ 70k miles; and yes, I'll rebuild the PDK when I have to. Thanks

@@brettboyer7094 Business is good! ;-) Rebuilt for clutch packs or because of dead position sensors? thx
