Hi ya, the location was the best part of the hotel near the front, the bathroom however was clear glass, can you imagine it. And yes always drunk lol

I went for a weekend in 1993 and stayed 2 years,like you i had avoided it for years,the old town is the best kept secret,i spent one night down at the "disco end"and hated it,try the old town,you won`t go near the crazy part.
