If anyone has ever thought if Port Elizabeth is safe or not, we can definitely say though our experience, it definitely is. We show you around Port Elizabeth is about and what it has to offer. Port Elizabeth now known as Gqeberha due to a name change, is nicknamed "the windy city" and also the "friendly city". We had a bite to eat at our favorite breakfast place, Wimpy and got to enjoy a lovely sea view at the same time. We then visited a local pub called Barneys and the vibe was just so awesome, we sipped on a few drinks while watching the red moon rise above the Indian Ocean.
The next day of our travels through Port Elizabeth, we visited the Donkin Reserve as well as Route 67 which consists of 67 steps leading to South Africa's highest flag pole as well as 67 art pieces dedicated to Nelson Mandela's 67 years of public life and his contribution to the freedom struggle in South Africa.
We then visited the lovely Africa Penguins at SANCCOB which is an amazing organisation that rehabilitates all sea birds. After spending time with the lovely Penguins, we then made our way to Cape Recife which is a Nature Reserve. Located on the Reserve is a Lighthouse that was established in 1849.

Put crime and safety issues aside, and the country is not all doom and gloom. There are so much more to South Africa than meets the eye. What is depicted in this video is only a small part of what Port Elizabeth and it surrounds have to offer. South Africa is right up there with the best the world has to offer. Unfortunately there is also a downside with our towns and cities no longer being so well kept as in the past. Challenges are being created rather than being solved.

I've been in Joburg my whole life (born and bred) and cannot wait to move to PE. While Durban And Cape Town are your more popular metropolis costal areas PE wins hands down for me. Its chilled, quiet and people are friendly there. Perfect place to settle down if like me you are sick of the harsh hustle and bustle of cities like Joburg...

Friendly but windy city! Barney's seems like a fun place and you seemed like you enjoyed yourself too! The art works are looking incredible. Sorry the museums were closed. Love the penguins 🐧, so nice how they are rehabilitating those cute creatures. 🙏

Wow, Port Elizabeth looks wonderful. What a nice nickname to have too - "the friendly city" :) The beach looks wonderful! And what a stunning view to have breakfast. That's awesome you got to see the red moon! It was cloudy here so we missed it but the photos I've seen were gorgeous! Loved the 67 art pieces dedicated to Nelson Mandela too. Would love to stroll around and enjoy it all :)

Thanks for the visit and the great video! When you come again try the local brews from Richmond Hill Brewing Company RHBC (Car Park John, Two Rand Man, Jane Doe... in their fab designer bottles and cans) instead of the usual you can get anywhere else. Also try out our local Masterton's Coffee, Vovo Telos (both brands originated here) Urban Cafe near the Donkin and some other local foodies for a change from Wimpy. Really glad you made it to Something Good though! And inbox a few locals to find out about our wild side and the best beaches on the planet that tourist don't find easily. Locals love showing off our best assets! You won't be sorry guys!!

Loved the video, seemed like a beautiful area. I would love to see the penguin and bird rehab centre. The Beach would be my favourite spot I think, but the art installation looks really cool too. And the drinks at the bar looked like a lot of fun 🙃😅

Breakfast is my favorite meal and that looked amazing!! Gotta go get me some bacon... And with that incredible beach side view.. Amazing! That's funny that you had a red moon -- we just had one a couple days ago! It was huge! Wow how tall is that flag pole? You could barely see the top! And that memorial was so sweet.. Man, I wish the KFCs in the US had awesome statue/robot dancers 😅. Barneys looks like our type of place! The ocean views during the day and city/moon views at night were both amazing! I (Skylar) definitely would have not looked as good as you two did the next morning! I love all the historical buildings in Port Elizabeth. The ones that are maintained really are stunning, and even the ones that aren't look pretty cool. Probably a wise decision not going to see the "beautiful places" with the complete stranger. I have a feeling that the "beautiful place" he was referring to may have been a cage in his basement. The penguin rehabilitation center sounds like an amazing place. I'm a firm believer that penguins make every video better and are definitely something our videos are lacking! I can't believe the amount of lighthouses in South Africa. They really seem to be everywhere. Bummer that you couldn't get up in the lighthouse at the reserve, but the beach there looked really nice and wide. I've never seen coral just lying on the beach like that before!
