PORT ISAAC | We explore the beautiful seaside holiday village of Port Isaac Cornwall, England, the filming location for the Doc Martin TV show and the Fisherman's Friends movie.
Port Isaac is a stunning little fishing village close to Port Gaverne and Tintagel on the West coast of Cornwall UK. It's a working fishing village but also a huge travel and tourist destination with many tourists heading there for a Cornwall holiday or short break.
The location of Port Isaac is fantastic with it being such a short drive from other Cornwall towns and villages such as Padstow, Polzeath and Boscastle. But visitors to Port Isaac will tell you that this beautiful place is enough in it's own right to warrant being visited and loved as a fantastic and stunning looking Cornwall holiday destination.
Port Isaac is also famous for being the Doc Martin Filming Location and the Doc Martin show is filmed in and around the village, and you can spot the famous filming locations around the place and see where Martin Clunes and the cast of Doc Martin film their scenes including Doc Martins house and the Pharmacy that you see in the TV Show.
And Port Isaac is also the Fisherman's Friends Filming Location with the movie not just being filmed in the village but also the story being one of the Fishermans Friends sea shanty group that started and is still based in Port Isaac. If you are an avid Fisherman's Friends fan or you are just someone who enjoys visiting Filming Locations then Port Isaac is most definitely for you.
We take a look at Fore Street and The Platt (Where you will find and see Fisherman's Friends singing in the summer) as well as Roscarrock Hill (Where you will find Fern Cottage the filming location of Doc Martin's House). This isn't a Port Isaac filming locations tour but I thought I'd include a few for you.

You've done Grassington and Pately Bridge, but there are LOADS more Yorkshire Dales villages to film - I'd welcome any of them! Kettlewell, Hawes, Dent, Sedbergh, for starters..... ❤🙏

Lovely place which I’d love to visit or even better stay to wake up to the sound of seagulls, love the alleys and Inglety pigeltyness of it all, always watch Doc Martin and wish I was there, the world needs more Doc Martins to get things sorted.

I enjoyed the walk around Port Isaac. I was there many years ago, and was greeted by the singing Fisherman, doing my favourite sea shanty 'The Leaving of Liverpool'! I loved walking the higgeldy piggeldy little streets. The sound of the gulls is magical 🥰

Smiling as we walked down the steep hill towards the harbour and seafront, seeing all the different hues of blue marking the doors to the lovely cottages. I've never watched Doc Martin, but I sure do love the green, hilly landscape he lives upon, Beautiful and picturesque! Thanks for the chance to visit another charming village in Cornwall. :)

Love this! Great pictures and sound. We have stayed in Port Isaac - it is a favourite place - but we don't spend as much time walking the little streets as we might. We always go for some walks along the cliff top. I feel almost "homesick" watching! To me there is something magical about it. Thank you for posting.

Thanks for this fab video; it brought back good memories of my visit, although whe my family and I were there the weather was rubbish, despite it being in the height of summer! We enjoyed Port Isaac as it is sure pretty and the Cornish Pasty shop near the front was spot on although I had to fight of the bloody seagulls!!

It's a lovely place, but it can get very busy in the Summer months. You leave your car in one of the cliff top car parks, and walk down into the village. Many of the streets are just too narrow to allow two cars to pass......

Make sure you walk all the way up the road past the house used by Doc Martin, and go up onto the fields looking down onto the village and the harbour. The views are to die for, and it's a great place for a picnic.....

At the end of your video looking across the harbour there’s a cottage built into the harbour wall, it’s a square stone building with 4 windows, we rented that for a week a few years ago. It’s was great but those hills nearly killed me 😂😂

I remember being in port issac in the mid to late 70s, theres a pub on the quay & i can't remember its name but then it could have changed since then. It had a cellar bar & thats where all the women were & thats were we all ended up. I do remember a plumby voiced person comming up to me as i had my left hand in plaster & he asked me if i had been injured playing cricket. I told him no my injured hand was a result of being in a medieval reinactment society where i had recieved a full swing from a broad sword (it was my fault, i didn't raise my defensive posture quick enough) he then quickly said his goodbuys & disappeared like harry potter on a ninbus 2000. Half way through the eve the music was turned off & the guy behind the bar said " is there someone here that owns a vauhall viva reg no xxxxxx & has parked on the beach, then they better get it moved now as the tide is comming in & its about to get turned into a submarine, it wase'nt me & i did laugh........ the women were lovely..........

My Uncle said that the Cornish soldiers who invaded Cyprus Greece in the 1950s committed awful atrocities. My Aunty said that the Scotchmen committed awful atrocities.
