Btw fun fact: Irl Oda, Ango and Dazai were friends together with another named Dan Kazuo. Out of the three Ango and Dazai were the ones who had more fights with Nakahara Chuuya. Dazai and Chuuya dislike to each other with Dazai one time crying from Chuuya's relentless bullying. Chuuya even calls him a peach boy which Dazai took as an insult since Dazai is a fan of peaches. Ango on the other hand almost had a fight with Chuuya but Chuuya backed away because Ango was taller than him. Irl Mori Ougai was a literature critic, part of the military and author himself. He is the reason why Fukuzawa Yukuchi and Higuchi Ichiyou are on the yen dollars.

Why Elise calls Mori "Rintarou" is never explained in the anime and manga (idk if the light novels ever touched that subject), but the real life author Mori Ougai's real name is Rintarou. So we can assume in this universe also, Mori is using an alias.

odasaku's voice actor is also aizawa's va. his name is junichi suwabe, and he actually auditioned for dazai along with ranpo's va (who's also levi's va) but miyano mamoru got the role which you already know is atsumu's voice actor. miyano mamoru even got an award because he fits dazai so well. there's so many notable and well-known voice actors in this series, i wouldn't blame you for taking a minute to process them. 😂 atsushi, young grisha, and sun eater have the same va. kunikida was also voiced by asahi and reiners va. yosano and annie also have the same va.

the fact that dazai is based off a real person makes it more sad and scarier, and when you read the book he wrote you can see all they have in common- take in mind the show takes place around the 1930's

s2 starts with a couple of episodes of flash back. its an amazing season and after watching the flash back and understanding dazai's character a bit more, the future episodes become all the more joyful to watch

i fuckin love the story-telling in this anime. the tone got dark too, and it made me ask if i'm still watching the same anime. amazing how the tone of the episodes could be attributed to dazai's current state too, if that makes sense.

5:33 SPOILER Damn just now i realized this. Since my dumbass was convinced that Oda was the actual leader of Port Mafia (it had been a few months since i had finished season 1 so i didn't remember Ogai's face), i thought that Ango was the one who would die. But look at the photo they took. In japanese culture, when three people take a picture side by side, the one in the middle is going to die. It was right in my face and I ignored it

OH MY GOD? IM SO EXCITED WAIT ILL ADD MORE AFTER THE REACTION love your reaction as always! i dont have much to add since almost everything here is self explanatory minus spoiler territory, but i will say that fun fact, in real life dazai, ango, and oda all met in a bar name lupin together, and asagiri (the writer of bsd) was extremely clever writing this into the manga! i was blown away by the detail he puts into the show, the more you dig the more you find, its a neverending hole lmao cant wait for future episodes and THANK YOU for more frequent bsd episodes, its literally been the highlight of my life lmao
