In this video I build a portable band saw stand. It is made to fit the Milwaukee 6232-21 Band saw. To fix the saw to the stand I used a standard clamp cut to size. The finished stand works great. If you enjoy welding this is a nice weekend DIY project.

Hey Arthur, nice job, do you have any dimensions of this table ( legs, plate for table, etc... ) ? Thnx
@arthurad2007
@arthurad2007 6 лет назад
Sure thing... Top is 12 1/2" wide, x 10" deep x 1/4 thick. Overall 10 1/4" tall without the robber feet. The horizontal leg pieces are also 10" long. The legs themselves are made from 1" x 0.100" square tubing. Hope that helps.

Is there any change to give the dimensions in cm instead of inches ? Thnx Arthur

just multiply each number by 25.4 and you will have it in millimeters.

When cutting a metal or wood panel to a specific shape, always do it first with card stock (small parts) or corrugated cardboard (larger pieces). It allows you to make small adjustments for a perfect fit, and it serves as your pattern to mark and cut the actual panel.

I think I have now watch 6 builds but did not keep track of who built first. Your stand seems simpler with fewer parts. I just do not have a welder, so a big handicap. Just hope any vibration does not make it come off the stand.

I like how you made the table, that's a good idea so I can roll my wheelchair under it to weld or do my arts and craft bench but I will make it to my fit my heith 👍🏽. Very simple way to make it. I just got done making a table but I made the top so I can put heavy stuff on top and the wheels can adjust to raise it if need be. The style you did it could be raised to just sleeve bigger square tubing in the smaller stuff and put bolts to lock in place.
@arthurad2007
@arthurad2007 4 года назад
SNOOP U 2 That adjustability is a good idea. Have the locking screws at an angle to push the inner tube into a corner. That makes up for any lose fitting tubes. I am glad you it. Cheers!

I would totally get rid of that cheap white metal part of the clamp that you're welding to the bottom of the table and fabricate a replacement out-of-state cold rolled steel or even something with the little tiny bit more carbon. Not high carbon but just a little

Great build. Is the small clamp underneath the only thing holding the whole saw up?
@arthurad2007
@arthurad2007 6 лет назад
David Plass The vent slot supports the weight of the saw and the clamp prevents it from sliding out. The bit that goes in the vent slot can also be tapered to allow for more air flow. That is if you are worried about heat buildup. Cheers!

Good design . TU. have you checked to see how perpendicular the blade is to the plate?
@arthurad2007
@arthurad2007 5 лет назад
WV591 Yes, it’s spot on on mine. Even if it was off a bit it would still be fine for what these are generally used for. In metal work the weld fills up any small gaps. If you need high precision you have to follow up the cut on a milling machine. Cheers!

Very nice stand. Does it not want to fall backwards when pressure is applied? Or is the weight from the table good enough?
@arthurad2007
@arthurad2007 6 лет назад
Robert Toebak, it is best to clamp it to your work bench for heavy cutting. That is why I like the Inverted T legs for the stand... makes for easy clamping.

@arthurad2007
@arthurad2007 6 лет назад
Tom's Dreamshop Worx I cut the kerf with a plasma cutter dragging the tip next to a square. It was very easy. I wish I had filmed it. A good cutoff wheel would do just as well. Cheers!

how did you make the slot for the blade? angle grider or plasma? or band?
@arthurad2007

arthurandsons I like your table the most. I’m gona do the same one. I do have a plasma cutter and 1/4” plate.
@minecraftandorigamitutoria1023
Great video. I just made a similar one for my Milwaukee band saw. But the blade guide has enough play in it that when I clamp it to the underside of the table the saw still has some movement to it. Do you have this in your version? If so, how did you manage that?
@arthurad2007
@arthurad2007 5 лет назад
minecraft and origami tutorial On my Milwaukee there is very little play. Don’t effect the cut.

@arthurad2007

Bud Miller Yes, the clamp prevents the saw from sliding back. The back notch takes most of the weight.

I am sorry for my late reply. Have been very busy lately. Top is 12 1/2" wide, x 10" deep x 1/4 thick. Overall 10 1/4" tall without the robber feet. The horizontal leg pieces are also 10" long. The legs themselves are made from 1" x 0.100" square tubing. Maybe at least you can compare the size if you made yours already.

Working in wood???
@arthurad2007
@arthurad2007 7 лет назад
Yes it does... Use a coarse blade for better speed. I am not sure if you can get narrow blades to make sharp turns. So it could be a bit of a compromise in that regard. Otherwise it will be slower then a proper wood bandsaw but will do the trick.
