OverviewI had an old Black and Decker Firestorm set that was getting very long in the tooth ru-vid.comUgkxW1vOBRCMrgTCDEijzpVzDWsgI-Jm2iQv so it was an easy decision when this set went on sale. I'm not a pro or a handyman. I'm an occasional DIYer. So for me, this set is fantastic. I am very happy with my purchase. The Good Parts Very well priced for what you get Comes with everything you need - two batteries, a charger, and a carry bag The products feel very well made Not too heavy The drills are small and ergonomic (for my smallish hands) Huge ecosystem - Dewalt makes a lot of tools that use the same battery type and chargerCould Be Better I guess I could say that I wish the batteries were bigger, but that's a relatively minor compaint
This is the second time this weekend I’ve seen people use hitches for quick swap tools. I think this is a sign that I need to start setting up all my tools for quick swap. The other nice thing is I can mount them in my receiver and use em all with my genny off the back of my truck.
Man I never even thought about that haha , I built that ol weld tables 2 years ago and stuck that on there and never have even used it but it is nice .
Nice build I’m about to do same including hitch or telescoping square stock tubing. The Milwaukee is superior saw period. Harbor freight saw may last you a few years but Milwaukee will last a home shop a life time. I’ve used these for years on industrial applications under a lot of abuse. You made the right choice.
I do think it's a better saw but it's true a year or 2 ago they started making the Milwaukee in China . So I just don't fault people for buying either one . But watching reviews, they say the Milwaukee still seems better quality
Ingenious. I was looking for a bandsaw hack like this and now found a way to mount my bench grinder to my table also without making it permanent. Thanks
Great video it will be one of the handiest tools you will have. I built one several years ago that I just clamp down the handle in the vice and put a switched receptacle close to it I use it all the time
One of those things I didn't realized I needed. $89 for the saw and whatever the metal costs is cheaper than an emergency room visit when the grinder blade blows up in my face. You may have just saved my life! Thank you!
I love the hitch mount idea. Gonna weld one under my welding table for the same setup. Just made a tire changing stand that slides into my trucks hitch as well.
Thank you brother , i want a plasma cutter but I stop myself from buying one everytime , because I don't want to make ppl think they can't do something , because they don't have the tools
That is some real craftsmanship brother. I always have discs break on me all the time & its dangerous. That is one of the times i really use PPE's. Gloves & safety glasses are a must. Can't say how many times the glasses have saved my eyes. Great video & thanks for sharing bud 👌👊👍🎣😎
Amen I wear ppe anytime I use em and I've still be hurt a couple times , the last time it blew up so hard it threw the grinder against me and I caught it , problem was it was still running lol . Tore my shirt and belly up man . My buddy to me a guy where he works for killed by one . He said it hit his neck and he bled out before they could help me
I use the portaband more than anything.pretty cool. Maybe better than the vise? I cut from whatever I got. Maybe even the wide side of construction angle.
GREECE-ATHENS...Good evening my friend ... the work you do is excellent, with absolute clarity ..... I would magically say video, everything is fine, keep teaching us. Thanasis
Nice job. All you need now is one of those foot peddles that plug in-between your extension cord and the saw and your in business !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your welcome in advance !
Awesome setup! My 2 cents, though, is to add a plug in foot pedal so you just step on it to turn it on, instead of plugging and unplugging. I've done that using a Jawhorse before, and it's a lot handier. I love your diys! Keep am coming!
Thank you brother , i forgot to mention that lol . I already have one on a scroll saw I have . I was just testing it out on this video . But I guess great minds do think alike
or buy a surge protector from HF for $3.99 and mount it to turn on/off via a flick of the switch like a normal tool. Plus you have 3 more plug-ins for a light or whatever you need
I have an earlier Milwaukee port a band/the trigger works/oh yeah///// All that's on the underside now? I might stick to the vise. I turn that saw every which way.
Fishin N Stuff you did mentioned something about making some sort of cutting tool out of that metal grinding tool at the end... can you make a mini table saw out of that hand grinding tool? That’ll be awesome!
Like it , already got the HB portaban but I use it a lot the way it is I would have to get another to make the table version. I like the idea and harbor f is down the road bout 20miles.
It's just easier to use when you mount it too a table , but I agree with you the are handy both ways and it's hard to beat for only having a 100 buck in too the whole project
Sometimes if I don't give em , its because it's not set in stone . But ill tell ya lol . I appreciate it by the way and tell your wife I said your welcome haha 😄
Think I would of welded the hitch at such an angle that I could remove the saw without taking it off the table. That way you could strap on a jig saw or something to cut all kinds of materials a lil easier but it is ingenious. Great video ideas for the handy men out there. Thank you much.
Nice build brother and the best part the receiver and hitch that's awesome you can take it with you and use it on a job and make a video of it so we can watch em...
That’s a sweet build bud! I am going to go take some pictures of the DIY conversion i did for my compound miter saw. I will post the pictures on the FB group page later.
Fishin N Stuff oh yeah! I think your going to like my diy compound miter saw conversion. Its unique thats for sure lol. I used the base of an old gas grill as a stand.
Once again I’m captivated watching you build something I will probably never use. But that’s one of the things I LOVE about your channel. Can you do a video on talking the wife into buying a boat? Now that’s a video I could really use. In all seriousness another great video!
First thing is you got to get her to love fudging or at least get her to love boating then get a small boat ,, take her out a bunch of times . And convince her how a larger boat would be so nice . That's how I did it haha 😄
I haven't tried the Harbor Freight bandsaw but it's half the price and I know they are all made in China Milwaukee, Harbor Freight , and I think maybe Dewalt makes one but theirs maybe battery powered Any way no more than I use mine I don't think it would be a big deal . I use Harbor freight angle grinders and they work . My Dewalt is nicer though . So I guess it depends on how much your using the tool
I have the Bauer.... It's really good. Wouldn't be surprised if the Milwaukee lasts longer, but twice or there times as long to justify 2x or 3x the price? Not sure about that.
I agree especially when they both were made in China , and i do know China has different levels of quality but like you said is it 3 times better . It was a christmas gift so
I'm sure it does . I'm not a welder but in going to get me a small flux core welder from HF . Some thing to just play around with . I'm working on a small lawn tractor for my grandson and I need to cut some metal pipe and other stuff and make a bumper for his winch on the front . This saw DIY will come in very handy !!!
Weld a couple tabs on the bottom of the table. Mount a power strip and plug the saw into it that way it has an on off switch. A little safer and more convenient than plugging and in plugging
That my friend is an awesome idea , to be honest I have a foot pedal switch I bought for my scroll saw I was going too use but I was just thinking the last video that I needed something easier than a drop cord , because it gets in my way moving my weldcart and tripods and such . A power strip on my table and I could just plug the table in and run all my tools through it . Thank I appreciate that suggestion
