2019 UPDATE: Enable subtitles for explanations/commentary! It's a miracle this route was even possible. More details inside! Global Leaderboards: steamcommunity.com/stats/Porta...
+Small Vocaloid and UTAU Promotions Is that so? I just held down "end" and pressed "show more" every time the button came under my mouse, until there was no more to show. Then I did a page search for "view all" and pressed every link hiding reply comments, so that every comment for this video was laid bare. Finally I searched for "Small Vocaloid", and only got this comment. Then I searched for "thinking" and found a handful of matches, but all later than my reply. You had me worried that perhaps RU-vid was bubbling comments or something there, for a moment. x3
lol he isn't a no-lifer? I'm not saying I ain't one but like how it probably takes thousands of hours of playtime experience to reach his skill, not that it's a bad thing, but the term still seems accurate to me
Ahre Also, I'm so glad that you were able to notice I made the same joke which everyone else is saying. Without you, we never would have known so thanks for doing humanity a favor and letting us all know what a dumbass I am.
@@smh816 just the pain of watching him jump against that beam over and over again gives off the kind of struggle essence you get when you're scratching the surface of the duct tape roll in desperation. If you don't get this feeling, you've never used duct tape before
I really like how people discover and explore the game mechanics, almost "bending" them to their will. Congrats for you, and all Speedrunners and Glitchers!
My head exploded. Just when you think you were clever in how you solve the puzzle, then this happens. In the words of Wheatley: "Are you absolutely sure you're solving these correctly? I mean, yes you solved it, but I'm wondering if maybe there's a number of ways to solve them, and you're picking all the worst ways"
My mind just got absolutely anihilated, decimated, ravaged, perforated, destroyed, imploded and trancended time and space... Holy shit. My mind is blown.
Probably started with a few random people trying to get out of bounds then someone realized you can put it together to get through the level without portals
The game wouldn't let you, as it involves exploiting the game, and getting into areas you were never meant to get to. The achievement name would be Volvo needs to patch their game.
nuclearping than why are people calling something a glitch beacuse it's just clever use of game mechanics? "Yeah I just found this magic hole in the wall that kills every enemy in the game, I guess it isn't cheating since it's just clever use of game mechanics"
+Eddygeek18 Well it isn't really a bug in that sense because nothing is actually glitching out. He just managed to hold onto milimeters of collision box which is just GG level design. I mean, who would assume that someone would attempt to jump so high that he would be able to actually land at anything that is ontop? Like, LOL
***** I know there not glitching out thats why i wouldnt call them glitches. I call bugs parts of a game that shouldnt act the way they do. I develop and code games and when i debug i find errors in code that make my games act a way they shouldnt. Not necessarily "Glitch" to me a glitch is a part of a game acting in weird and strange ways. These i would call bugs using the definition "Parts of a game or software that are not as intended or are used for unintended purposes"
Just to let you know, Cave Johnson quote: Oh, in case you got covered in that repulsion gel, here's some advice the lab boys gave me: DO NOT get covered in the repulsion gel. We haven't entirely nailed down what element it is yet, but I'll tell you this: it's a lively one, and it does NOT like the human skeleton.
"Top ten most complex things humanity has made" *Number two:* Rube Goldberg machine one kilometer squared containing dominoes, calculators, cars, sand, roller coasters and explosives. *Number One:*
I love the combination of getting out of the map and the interesting game mechanics. Using the repulsion gel as well as clipping through geometry and finding ways to get out of the map with it is just awesome.
@@VarunGupta3009 yeah, but this was about the amount of portals and in that sense, it's impossible to beat. (Unless you've got a way to place -1 portals)
@@shitlordflytrap1078 Even with least portals, the time is taken into consideration. This is what I meant. All runs are speedruns and in case of a tie (for misc. types of runs like least steps or least portals), the one with the least time wins. :)
That'd be a good idea if Valve still made real games. The majority of the people who actually made games at Valve have left the company. Now they sell gun skins in CSGO to morons and make VR crap.
This is the coolest thing ive ever seen. When i was little i always loved the idea of going to places where you where not supposed to be and i still love stuff like that.
(serious question) As someone who is fairly new to speed runs/glitching, How do people find out about these sort of things? At 2:36 what exactly does he mean 1 hammer unit short? Also what other lingo is used in the speedrun/glitching community. Many thanks
+Jarvis Morris Hammer units are the base units of measurement used in source games. For reference, when moving forward with W, you move at 175 hu/s, so 1 hammer unit is 1/175th of that distance. As for other lingo, a quick google search can describe most other terms related to p2 speedrunning (unless you have something specific you'd like to ask).
That was a Splatoon turf war where everyone, I mean EVERYONE, is on blue. See how long it takes to cover everything, including yourself (Wait that's not right... Oh well.)
It was a joke about the aforementioned parallel universe guy, who does minimal A-press runs of Super Mario 64. There's a running joke about him doing "half an A-press" in some of his individual level runs.
This is so much more satisfying to watch with subtitles than any Portal speedrun 😱 Great job!💪😁 I know peole are "clipping" in speedruns but it just seems like glitching with 1k movementspeed to me 😅
haha "hype" XD. Awesome. Thanks for explaining your methods, btw! As someone who is unfamiliar with speed runs/glitching, I appreciate getting a glimpse into what's going on. Really impressive. 👍🏼
