I love how inefficient this machine is. Uses like, twice the Conversion Gel necessary. Shoots a bunch of metal storage lockers and destroys them for no reason. Slices up the portal surface to be smaller, also for no reason. Uses one enormous diamond for each cut, then ejects the diamond from the machine and switches to the next one. Packs up the portal surface into a box, moves it via forklift like two feet, then drops it and it gets unpacked and moved

It all makes sense now! Just as they tricked those alternate Apertures into building test chambers at their own expense, they've tricked _us_ into _designing_ them for free by marketing the venture to us as a game! The whole _Portal_ franchise has been a ploy to get free test chamber blueprints! :O!

I genuinely believe every game needs a map maker like this.

This was and still is the greatest late birthday gift. The idea of making custom test chambers was so thrilling, I legitimately made sketches of ideas for tests I could make before this came out.

What makes Valve such a great company is that it's entirely self-funded. No external investors who's only interested in profit. Also their flat dynamic organization is a great environment for creativity.

One thing I enjoy about this is when you play the fan made chambers you actually are one of the stick men from these videos with a portal gun

This is still the greatest update in the history of updates, and the Portal 2 mapping community is still incredibly active.

I think it's clever that the actor for Cave Johnson is the same actor for Ford Pines, and both made a machine with the ability to travel through...The Multiverse.

Still classic of all time. I always return to these trailers once in awhile after i create a few more testcchambers(i use Hamme++ btw). And i am always learning something new, like repulsion and propulsion gels being first made as dietic puddings, or excursion funnels being liquid asbestos. I am also an a beta tester for Portal 2 Community Edition, i am really glad that its team so much cares for this game(not releasing soon tho).

Aperture uses new turrets for testing panels, then just destroy them. Aperture Corner Cutting Machine uses diamonds for cutting, and 1 diamond for one corner, and then it just throw diamonds. And Cave Johnson is complaining that they are almost bankrupt.👌 Good job Aperture! ))
