God, I want this to be real. Honestly it's probably what happened, think about it. How would there be a clean wheat field if the combine had already invaded, they probably would've taken over the wheat field, or the wheat field would've been decayed from how abandoned it was.

I don't know if that's exactly what would happen once Chell is set free, but if it is, I think that would make for an interesting spinoff. It could be a bit like Slime Rancher, where it's a farming simulator at its core, but there's also exploration and puzzles to do which progress the story. The story here could end up being told through the random items GlaDOS sends to the surface either to dispose of, to keep Chell occupied, or both. Each one would add to an overarching puzzle that would have you piece together what exactly is happening down in Aperture.

i mean, it has been over 30,000 years since chell was first put into a cryogenic sleep stasis, so i'm pretty sure that the combine is now gone

@@zizochemlali4639 if it was really 50000 years then how come the metal of the shed, or anything from the *facility itself* hasn’t decomposed? even if the main facility is made of materials that could last that long I doubt the underground Aperture from the 50s-70s could even still exist, let alone be in relatively decent condition
