1:50 Definitely one of, if not, the creepiest, or at the least most unsettling details they put in Portal. The fact that previous test subjects, regular people who were just being put through the same facade as Chell, lost their sanity in these test chambers and probably died (likely as an act of suicide) as a result of not being able to handle such paranoia... These games are so much darker than I remembered. I mean, these people died from sheer mental collapse in a DEATH SCENARIO of either the fire pit taking their lives... or them taking their own... Jesus, how come no one ever brings THIS game up in a discussion of "Creepiest video game moments"? 😰
It was a character named rat man he used to work at the facility until glados gassed everyone which he managed to survive he now hides from glados inside the facility iirc

Spoiler Also, Caroline probably adopted Chell, because the turret opera translation says bye to someone's daughter (Caroline's daughter, AKA Chell) and GLaDoS gets angry when Wheatley says Chell is adopted in a derogatory way
I'm standing with quite an opposite theory that Caroline had to make sure no one knows she and Cave have a biological child so they had some of the Aperture workers adopt Chell. That makes much more sense with the game characters and still explains that GLaDOS was angry when Wheatley mentioned adoption as she had to let someone adopt her own daughter against her will as it would damage Cave's reputation.
@@rob_olmstead she faked it by replying "your biological parents don't want to talk to you" or something along the lines. Whatever, the point is that GLaDOS couldn't know Chell is "her" daughter before old Aperture, because her surname was redacted as we know from Lab Rat and the only fact GLaDOS had was that Chell is adopted.

The content room has a cube with a Halo and angel wings. Reminds me of a theory I just heard that she has stuffed the dead bodies in the cubes themselves, a little more evidence to that.

My man you missed a CREEPY EASTER EGG in level 14 or 17 if you look up in the hallway there is square holes teleport there and you will find a room with a woman and some texts and if you listen closely you will hear a professor talking,thats a background of him (I dont know it) but in a war he was the only survivor in it and he sucsessfully escaped It was creepy and strange

I didn't know cave jhonson lore existed in portal 1. I guess it's just more secretive. Like we don't go down to the sealed off areas and don't hear mentions or see portraits of him. (I wonder what aperture science innovators looked like during the events of portal 1)
I think the games of Valve like CsGo, L4D, Portal, and Half life are all connected. From the terrorist bombing in Csgo to an outbreak of disease in L4D, then 2 companies: Aperature Science and Black Mesa to an apocalyptic world with rebellion and war.
I played portal recently and I noticed that when glados dies, there is a giant portal on the roof through which Chell and glados both get sucked through and thrown outside the aperture science lab, maybe the same thing happened to borealis ship, with the giant portal it got teleported to Antarctica
Anyone know why they took down Aperturescience.com I think it’s because the lore was off like I believe it said Cave died of cancer lung cancer I believe but in the game it was asbestos poisoning but they were both similar so anyone have any true answers on why it was taken down
I found the voice actor of glados commentary creepy which is found in three backrooms in developer mode as it sounds like she was kind of mad at the people who did this

There's an easier way to do the first one. You can break the camera off the wall and jam it between the doors. Then you can remove the cube and just portal back to the orange portal and shoot a blue one through the door
