Because this is the _one_ time in Prelude where "just do the obvious thing with perfect execution" is not the intended solution. After you stick the energy ball into the catcher and put a portal in the room, you go back down and take the cube off the lower button, which closes the turret doors. :P

also love the video creator zooming in on the Earth Surrenders Newspaper at 1:35:00, clearly also amused that the mod creator hasn't realised that having it included makes no chronological sense

Gotta remember it's a 2008/2009 mod, this has just got graphics updates, at the time people just wanted a harder Portal 1 and this game nailed that

I'd assume because most of those complaining are used to playing the original games with their difficulty. So when a new mod/game comes along and they don't understand how it works, they just fall back to saying "It's too hard" or "Did they even test this?". This was my first time playing Prelude, so there was that difficulty (not helped by low framerate and stutters) but it's still Portal at the end of the day. Just with new test chambers that TEST your ability to solve the chambers.

Ppl don't read the warning at the start the game ask for thinking with portals knowledge, but sure the remake of this loved mod had a rough unoptimized start even for etc hardware

Im totally with you. I was first excited for it but at chamber 9 i ragequitted. He had an screen in this video here which means "too long to complete". Yeah that it, you jumping and turning around like an idiot and just get nauseated because you are always with your back in the front. If you understand. Jumping down, portal in front of you and then my back is there where my front has to be. Kills fun and I am really mad. But hey its the first time i used RTX ... Best experience with this bs**!"!"3

The level design is awful. Level 2 for example requires you to hold 'W' in air in order to make the jump. The game sucks because it doesn't reward thinking through the levels, instead it rewards the player if they utilize their weird movement and other clunky mechanics. This is why it sucks. I really liked Portal reloaded which featured some pretty hard levels, however this is just dumb level design as you pointed out.

I strongly disagree. The mod is mediocre at best, interesting yes, the duologue is amateur, and non of the charicters feel like they have any real memorable personality beyond just being staff people we don’t know, and the one looming thread of jokes about how casual they are about death gets old quick and hardly mixes it up At some point they mention the death of other subjects, which implies a deeper story on them that could add some more emotional weight to our situation but they don’t get into it There are implied Gman appearances, but they also go nowhere beyond seemingly a cameo (I’m not expecting alot, it would just be intresting if even the staff mentioned him a few more times) And beyond the dialogue the tests are absurdly difficult looking, and the people Iv watched review and play them describe them as frustrating I would too if I had to play any of them Wile to chambers can be completed, that Doesn’t make them all fun, or Compelling At best it only makes them solvable, and at worst, there un remarkable I can actually remember key test chambers from portal 1 and I’d never even played the game, Iv only ever played it’s demos and some custom difficult levels which I found more fun Yes the chambers get points for creativity, utilizing movable bricks, walls, gravity and the new shocker walls, plus timed trials But non of those amount to much if the chambers there presented in are unbalanced, needlessly confusing, complicated, or again “completable at best” The glados boss fight looks like a nigtmare to handle cause there’s really no way to avoid dieing and trying again , we already know how galdos fights without her morality core, it’s the final boss of portal 1 Iv always enjoyed watching this mod growing up, and I still appreciate it for what it is, and what it was, but As an adult I can see things more realisticly Im not saying the mod is bad, but I am saying that people have more then enough reasons to be mad at it, if other people think it’s horrible then fine, we are entitled to our own opinions, you know atleast that all theses people wouldent be here if they dident at some point like the mod or find it intresting

@@joseantoniobuendiaramirez7136 Thankfully someone supposedly has a mod to readd the original song on gamebanana, as well as a mod that replaces GLADOS with an AI using RVC.

You can't take the curiosity core during normal gameplay, only the morality core. But using ent_remove on its capsule, you can take it to her chamber, but if it goes through the fizzler, it fizzles, and its eye turns purple.

@@_atak99 like make a portal outside her chamber then one inside then take the core into the room then noclip and attach it to her

@@Yesletsgo144 Took a bit of trying, but the curiosity core despawns during the elevator ride back up to GLaDOS when you have the morality core (1:37:57) regardless of if it's with the player or not. GLaDOS will not reactivate if you noclip and portal from the core room to her chamber if the elevator wasn't been used.

@@theholygamer969 This is some of the most out of place 'music' I've ever heard for a combat sequence, they could've used hl2 music but instead chose this. I can only guess that this was intentional to make the experience as painful as possible as it features: Annoying music Unavoidable lethal prop damage Manhacks that play alarm sounds Turrets from somewhere Random wall-impact damage Magic laser of killing you anywhere in the room Consistently being pushed away from your only goal in the fight with no sign of progress Particles everywhere while being spun around in a dark foggy room Zero checkpoints

@@theholygamer969 This or baby shark, the effect is the same. The player goes 'this is disgusting and out of place, I hate it' and then they die 8 times from two tons of steel beams thrown at them.

@@samuels1123 In the original mod it was supposed to be Believe by Chemical Brothers, and surprisingly enough, _that_ choice actually works. They had to replace it with something else due to copyright issues, but the replacement they came up with... yeeeeeaaaaaaah, it sucks.

If the mod isn't launching properly, I can only assume that either you don't meet the minimum requirements or it's a bad installation. You can try verifying the game files by right clicking on the game in the side menu, properties, installed files. Worst case is that you might have to reinstall the game.
