bucked for a few years, and the 288 was a beast with skiptooth 404 chain. heavier saw, but for buckin’ in a rolled up deck, it was a monster that would literally fall thru the wood with little effort. Only mod was the governor was plugged in the carb with a small bit of gasket material. Now, the firewood saw I use is a 555 autotune, stock….and power to weight ratio….its very good. screams good, too, for a stock saw. 26” bar with fullhouse 3/8 chain means I can work all day without getting fatigued.
I watched most of the build videos of that 266 on TinMans channel and boy o boy was it impressive. I couldn't wait till it made it to your doorstep just to see the joy on your face. TinMan built you a beauty brother!!!!! Stand up and Buck!!!!!!
I followed the build on Tinman’s channel and Fab Willie doing the coloring of the dogs. Excellent job by both those fine fellas! Saw sounds and cuts awesome!
Good to hear you got your saw pants on 😆 buddy. And also good day friends and to the bucking army glad to see you're doing well today be kind be true most importantly be you and be smart & safe.
The way she gets on the pipe even sunk into the cut is very impressive👍 Tinman you’ve out done yourself. If my 266 wasn’t running so good stock I would try exactly what you’ve done there😃 Ironhorse. The way you helped out with this build is a reflection of your character👍helping the “competition “ get better is a sure sign a mans heart is in an amazing place! Congratulations friends on building a successful and vibrant community!!! Much love for you alll💕🌎🌍🌏💕
When folks work together for a common cause it just gets better. Sometimes more complicated but that's ok. Hip hip hooray for Buckin, living his dream. Great to see Myrtle the Merc running strong. Great to see safety pants but still waiting for the Buckin special retro steam punk safety goggles. 😎 Please be safe with fireworks in the USA, dogs and cats do not like them and they're dangerous in drought areas. Bang a drum instead 🎶🔔🎆 Gosh darn it, no icon for drums. 💘👈👉💔
Healed Heart💕I’m staying much more calm nowadays thanks to your humble wisdom you shared probably a year ago. Thanks for that😊thinking of you during fire season and hoping all will be ok😃
The Tinman has done it again! A fine. saw from Ironhorse as well! You're right about where you get cut. One of my great uncles had a long scare on his arm. Sapling snaped back. Take care. Thanks for all you do.

Billy I got lax on being safe a month or two back thought I was cool there was a couple girls watching and I got complacent and went picked my leg up over some limbs and ran my knee right into the chain. if I didn't have a pair of carhart pants on (not saw pant just thick pants) it would of ben a whole lot worse than just 3 little gouges out of my knee cap. Boy did I feel like a dummy. So ur right safety 1
24 live in Canada bc and absolutely love your videos love saws and old saws started getting a half decent collection of my own just got a 266xp eliminator top cover saw love the videos 👍
I got a 88 or 89 Husqvarna 266xp With the old metal brake handle, Bought it brand new, Only cut maybe a log load of wood with it over the years. Still got the original bar on it. Nice saws.
Hi Billy!!😀😀 Tinman really put a lot of love and care into building the 266 for you. And man oh man does that thing pull chain!!😀😀 Take care and stay cool in that extreme heat that you folks have never seen before. It's definitely going to cook a bunch more balsams so that the beetles can penetrate them without being repelled by the sap and will end up killing the trees. TTYL!!😀😀❤❤ Logger Al
Great work on the 266 Tinman. Buckin that I'd another great saw buddy. Another ripper and so smooth. Love it and that 38 always gets me goin. Thank you for sharing buddy. Love ya Buckin. I 🌲❤🌲✊🪓
Thank you for caring I hear you! We thank our subscribers (only 45k but still) for watching and making things possible really we should more! You are right Be Kind people!
It really came to life with the high jet adjustment at 15:00. It looks like a torquey little beast that's able to run that 32" bar about like a strong stock saw would run a 20-22"................at least that's how it looks from here. The classic model combined with those killer dogs and muffler all add up to an awesome package, but she obviously brings some new torque to stump.
Loved my 266 had three of em back in the early 80s. Amazing Saws. Great to see it run a long bar . I only ran 18 and up to 26 inch on mine. Just a pleasure to cut with hey. Best limbing saw . The 272 was almost as awesome Good on you Buckin for the shout out to the younger fellers about the Chainsaw pants. You are an inspiration to a lot of folks including this old school fossil.😆
"If you're not feeling right, get your hands dirty... it will balance the mental part." So true. I just missed out on a groundman job. Currently working at a computer. I NEED to get out!
Back in the day when i was young i heard a screaming sound coming from over the hill, i asked my dad "what the heck is that sound" he said that's somebody with a Buzz Saw" cuttin' wood. I loved that sound until i eventually heard a similar sound at the dentist. I now know the difference, rejoice at one sound, cringe at the other. 😊🌲🚚🏡
My craziest dental experience happened 4 years ago before i received chemo and radiation, they had to pull 4 teeth in one day, molars, and they were tough. They explained that they were bad and would turn black and die from the radiation, i reluctantly agreed. The dentist had to tag team the work, the first woman dentist was wore out after snap crackle pop getting 2 teeth out, the next guy dentist came and tagged her out and ask me if I'd like to wait a couple days before i get the next 2 teeth out, i already had about 10 shots of Novocaine, and i said in my best bloody voice, "naahg gmt demm aht nmmfph" "oh, you want to take them out now? " yffsss" I think a little chain saw would have been quicker, ported with skip tooth chain. Aaaaah Brutal... But surviving stage 4 cancer is in the luck of the medical system... I guess i had a bucks worth of luck left in the bank... I can laugh about it now 😅
This has been So Cool watching TinMan port your 266. Easily, the best stuff l ever watched. Between you, Harvey, & Tin Man, l haven't watched regular tv in like 2 years, Billy. Haha! My girlfriend hates it when l get ahold of the clicker. All l can say is l hope l can go to Buckinstock '22. You're a Blast!!
I just got my 500i running and looking the way I like it then you show me those badass dogs and the muffler!! Back to upgrading my saw, thanks alot Buckin' 🤣😂❤
goodday buckin , it seems to run pretty sweet, I heard that Canada is having a bit of a heat wave and some people were not doing so well in it , hope you and yours are doing well, cheers 👍
A beautiful bucking saw there Billy! :) You know when you have time and there is no rush and you want a saw to deliver firewood. :) Thats the saw! :) Oh Tinman that muffler and those dogs I want one! :)
Thanks for being a good example to the next shift coming up and wearing the PPE including the pants. Yes they're hot, but as a semi-old guy I now believe that just because I got away with something for years, doesn't mean it was right or safe. I wear Logger King pants by Big K in Vancouver btw.
Truly an awesome video I wish I would split like that we have oak up here in Missouri and I never can get a split quite like that but you do a fantastic job
I appreciate your improvements in reminding us to wear PPE Buckin'. May not leave you unscathed, but less recovery time. PPE is still cheaper than an ER visit, especially here in USA sadly. ❤
Too funny. I was going to head out in the next couple days to take down a fallen tree. Have some cutting pants on order, but they haven't arrived yet. So, figured I'd hop on this channel to see if Billy "always" wears pants or chaps while chainsawing. First video I click on (this one) he goes into an in depth explanation about how you should ALWAYS wear pants. Haha! God and Buckin' Billy Ray got my back! Amen!
Billy, there is a homemade turbo you can build for those saws. My mentor who used to build Husky hot saws in western WA back in the day, accidentally created one. He should have patented it. From what I'm told, it would outrun any standard ported and piped version.
Beautiful saw. Was fun watching it all come together. The Tinman truly has an eye for detail. I'm sure he was wondering if you used loctite when you put on the dogs!
I wish Husqvarna still made this saw. Used models are still readily available from private owners but I am not knowledgeable enough to work on them. Plus, you get a five year warranty with the purchase of a brand new Husqvarna and a shop of experts to do the work for you.
hey im Karl-Egert i have been watching your videos for few years end i actually study to become a forestry harvester operator but i have studied saws too and actually my 18th birthday is on 13 july and want to buy myself a saw too to do some falling and odd jobs like that maybe fall a few stems after machine has done it just so i can make some extra money i will still work with the machines but just for a workout do some falling and other stuff along those lines infact i have thinned my parents forest or atleast started it because i cant really do it by myself dad has a ms 261 with 18 inch bar and love that saw may god bless you nice to see you still doing treework after what happened
What a saw man! Very impressive! The green one gets it done as well. Not sure which one was quicker. Maybe equal the green one may have had a freshly sharpened chain which made it get across a little quicker?
@@Sensei948 I think just the stihl regular white bottles or castrol 2 stroke with the chainsaw on the front you get at hardware stores he said hes ran that oil for 25 years
@@stevetheriault4164 I believe the white and orange are the same thing? Packaging for ratio mix being the only difference. Although not completely sure.
Powersaw pants can save legs literally.. for some.reson I haven't gotten notifications happened with tazman too love ya brother... oh by the way congrats on the new powersaw she cuts aye
