Just found this video and found it so informative. I have the mini cross body with the snap closure and I love it. The only down side is that I wish it were just a little bigger. If I didn't need to carry both reading glasses and sun glasses, it would comfortably fit all my stuff. After watching your video, I think the small bucket bag would be the perfect size so I will probably order that next. All the bags from Portland Leather are such high quality and smell heavenly!
I had so much trouble deciding between a small or large bucket bag. You helped me decide :) I finally ordered AP small bucket in nutmeg. I need it more for errands and it should fit my small wallet, phone, headphones and other small essentials. I can't wait to get it! :)

Hi, Sam. Great review of all the bags. If you feel comfortable doing so, in the next video, would it be possible to see how the crossbody bags look on? In particular, I’m trying to visualize how the large bucket bag lays when it has things inside of it. I’m excited to see the other videos. I’m not sure what bag to start with and am looking forward to the rest of this series.
I watched this video again. haha. There aren't many videos that talk about the bucket bag. I just ordered the large bucket bag in nutmeg. I hope I love it. It is so cute. I am usually a zipper girl, so we shall see. I just want something different this time.

Just got my small plg bucket bag and was surprised how small but I love it. This will probably be my everyday bag for work. Don't like to carry to much for work and warmer weather.

Excellent review! I think I should go with the large bucket bag. I would rather have to much room than not enough. Plus, I think it should cinch better less full. I am glad you compared it to the medium crossbody. Thank you.
It’s a really great bag either way, I went with the large and my friend got the small. I ended up getting the small after trying hers on, but I’m keeping and using both. Love that bag.
I find the mini holds a ton and doesn’t too heavy for me. If I need something larger I usually use their tote backpacks, but I also have a few medium cb’s, too. I just don’t find I reach for them much because they can tend to get heavy for my shoulder. Also, I am a HUGE Dune/pebbled fan, and just ordered my first Honey bag, too! I can’t wait to try it out.
I adore the tote backpack as well! I agree, if you carry a good bit in the medium crossbody, it’s almost better to use a wide guitar strap. I find myself reaching for the tote bags more even though the medium is the perfect size.
Are these leather bags oily and will they color transfer to your clothing like the Chic Sparrow bags did? Also are they heavy before stuffing? Thank you!
These are not oily at all, they don’t have color transfer (a couple of the darkest colors have a warning, but I’ve never heard of it happening) and the bags are super light before you put items in. I appreciate lightness in a bag, and these all fit the bill.
I have fallen down the rabbit hole of portland leather. I have the medium crossbody on the way. Now I am wondering if it will be to big? the mini holds more than I thought it would. we shall see!
I think the strap length is the same for either. It would depend on what you want to carry really. I carry the small most often. It’s my usual day off carry.
Which of their colors would you consider closest to a typical British tan color ( like the vintage all weather Dooney and Burke bags? Also, I like a pebbled leather that is a bit more stiff. Which one would you recommend.Thank you so much for doing these videos
I’m not familiar with that brand, but I would consider Dune a British tan color. None of the pebbles will be very structured, but the darker colors seem to be the most structured for the pebbled. Black, Coldbrew, etc. This Terracotta is much more structured than Dune.
You spoke to my bag-packing heart when you said you couldn’t build the circle bag the same as you usually would in your other bags. I feel you on that!
I’ve never understood the appeal of the circle bag. It’s kind of cute but everything I carry is either square or rectangle shaped so it just doesn’t make sense!😂
I have the nutmeg color bag. It looked lighter color on their site. So now I want a bag in Sedona but they have several photos n ea one shows a different shade. So I hesitate to order. Know anything about the Sedona color?
Ordered. Sedona color bag. Compared to my nutmeg bag - there is little to no difference in the color between the two. So I don’t know if that’s the way it is or they accidentally sent nutmeg . Guess I’ll have to call them.
