Really like the video and the technique looks so cool! For those who are wondering i think the projector is an epson ex71 that has 2500 lumens brightness… as for the the iso it’s 400 based on the film mentioned in the video and then 1/60th at f2.8. You probably still need to mesure your light if you want to try this or take test shots with a digital camera before shooting with film. Cheers all!
"i love how everything fades away in the darkness" it reminds me of how Danielle van Zadelhoff thinks and works. She said to me once "you can tell more by hiding stuff then showing it". I really love her work and i think everybody has to check her out :). Great video tho and very inspiring. Thank you! :)
I have been wanting this video since seeing your B&W projector posts on Instagram. Linus out here blessing our timelines on IG and now blessing our YT feed with the tutorials
Love seeing how you communicate with the subject, I always feel awkward saying "ummm look here, no wait, here, no sorry, back the other way" but its cool to see that's just how it be sometime.
This is amazing bro, keep up the good work. The B&W film aesthetic pairs so well with the random projected geometric shapes. I’m sure a wire frame would be cool, or a grid.
I love how direct you are about liking or disliking a shot you took, it's very relatable. From "I don't know, it's just lame..." to "I LOVE this photo. LOVE IT." 😀 I definitely go through that full range during a shoot and I think in the end it's what makes you a good photographer; having that discernment. Good stuff!!
Duuude I didn't know an actual "school" projector could work for it, I was looking for the hardcore aputure version which didnt cost the same And well as usual thanks you for the vid & all the inspiration you give, you rocks!
Wow that is inspiring idea! Amazing!! I never thought that the light from projector is enough andespecially for film! goodbye my flash I will buy projector instead :) In video I missed only photoshop part but thanks for inspiration anyway
hi ! i like this video and how you show us how to be creative in an apartment because it's very relatable. i like your videos in studios as well but only for the entertainment of it. this one made me inspired because i can easily take your advice and create a similar concept with what i have at home. so thank you for this one, i hope there will be more like this !!
Your editing and storytelling is immaculate Sir. Such a calming and pleasing video to watch AND learning shit smh they don't do it like this anymore. Anyways I will be expecting a text cuz I had a lot of fun and would love to help film again, don't worry ill bring my lack of experience with me
Great video and results. I'm surprised you didn't prototype some of these on digital. Film is so farking expensive, I've been popping off test shots for almost every MF frame.
one roll of $9 tmax + already having monobath developer = not too shabby price wise! it was easy to dev and see if i had something minutes later. and thank you!
i noticed it for a sec in this video but also in other sets but when you have a picture of the model being projected, im guessing thats a quick digital taken and imported onto the computer?
Hey Linus, great video! Was wondering how you get the look on the wall of just the shapes without any apparent outline of the screen from the projector? Is it just a black background on your photoshop screen or something else? Thanks
Love the photos! You could be a bit nicer when directing the model though, most photographers I've seen say 'can you move this way', instead of telling them 'look that way.' Also a longer version would be cool in the future.
It always kind of weirds me out a little bit how photographers talk to models as if they were robots or props because I mean they sort of are in this case but it still just kind of unsettling
