Yea! I have "arrived!" After following you for 3 years I finally already have a piece of gear you are highlighting: The Westcott X backdrop system. But a big thank you for showing me how to use it. 🤣 This is one of my favorite Jay P videos b/c of the trip-shoot and wonderfully interesting subjects requiring various lighting solutions. Gotta ding you on the DasCafe shoot though. I just knew we'd see a shot of the sisters with that beautiful mural side wall and antique rusty gate with the facade peeking into the right side of the frame. You need to drive back there and shoot some more. 🤣 Wow-you must have had a fun time on this trip shoot and I loved learning from your techniques. Thank you!

I'm just not sure I get it. It's a neat portable backdrop thing, and you're showing how it works. But I don't see why you would want a gray backdrop in any of those portraits. But I watch the channel regularly and learn stuff.

It's a creative thing. Taking a BD on location and showing it in the scene. The real use is to use it to get an image of your person that has a studio look when you are on location.

Did you find the wescott stand flimsy? I've used it outdoors and found it to be unhelpful since it's too delicate, flimsy and the material see through.

I’ve started using sand bags for it on location, and it’s always a challenge to find strategic places to make sure the light doesn’t pass through.

@@coryhultquist580 I talked about the light coming through the drop in the video. Most any BD will allow light to pass through. I think I will layer the Black behind the gray in the future so it does not have that problem. That is one solution. The kit is lightweight and does need a sandbag. It worked great for us. Cheers

So the shots where the backdrop wasn’t in the scene was that edited out? Or a separate photo? Little confused sorry!!

The images without the drop were separate images. It is just showing how easy it is to shoot both when the client wants an outdoor shoot and wants some headshots on a drop.
