I still remember the first visit. It is a special visit, especially if you already have to enter through the tubes. And to think that the cathedral was full of oil.

The reverb is incredible. You can literally hear it bouncing back at you as the sound moves down the tank. Nuts! Great explore to Ian and team at IKS. Seriously awesome.

wow - dangerous though...there's probably more dioxins down there than you can shake-a-stick-at... as for going in there with just combat trousers and thin tee-shirt....smh in bewilderment at the apparent lack of safety issues - did you check the oxygen levels before you fully entered? Good explore but very risky looking.

I hope some one opens one of enterance up so we can go in again I want to go in as well in that square fence near road there’s a big vent pipe so maybe if u had a rope and climb down might be a bit risky

He says he doesn't want to climb the ladder because it's too dangerous. All while standing in a confined space filled with fuel oil and no air supply or respirator. 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️ i hope he has a three gas meter at a minimum.

What kind of air meter do you use underground. These tanks look clean so I might not worry in these tanks. But anything using up the oxygen will not always be visible

Did you see the Tom Scott video in the Inchindown tanks - same sort of place. They used a kind of smooth wooden plank to slide people and gear in and out! Also had a starting pistol so they could measure how long the reverb lasted - record was 112 seconds!!

42:23: And of course filling the tanks up the air can get out though the access hole on the top. That makes sense. The tanks also seem to be at a small incline. Very cleaver.

Balls of steel. That pipe that gets pulled up as you go in is the sump. I did the one at inchindown Scotland excellent explore and history

The fill nozle Moves up-and-down So you're not pushing against the weight Of the oil in the tank You imagine Trying to push against 20000 tons You would need a very big pump I would have thought The oil Wind count the other end Out of the other pipes They must be Another level above the tanks We're the ladder and the cable goes? There was footage Of the inside of the tanks I think it was something like coast I can remember some woman being pulled through that pipe

Who is still owning this property? Make a proper door, and remove all the water in the tank, preserve the acoustics and make a location for music, concerts and exhibitions. This would be very cool, to keep this amazing building alive.

I find it strange that they built a ~20 foot wide wall between the corridor and tank, but then put in a (maintenance?) pipe with just a steel flange to hold back all the oil. The flange would appear to be a weak link in the event of a direct hit. It appears the main way of accessing the tank for cleaning/maintenance is from the top, but maybe I am wrong and there is not much at the top of the ladder!

Nah, mate. That's just a blanking plate for the empty tank, from what I gather. The proper flange woud have been considerably thicker while it was in service
