I visit Portsmouth, New Hampshire, a port city on the Piscataqua River. There are numerous notable 17th and 18th century houses, including several within Strawbery Banke Museum, Nearby in downtown, the 1855 North Church presides over Market Square. Prescott Park has riverside gardens and boat docks. Northwest, former research submarine USS Albacore is in a park, alongside a visitor center.

Love Portsmouth, these are the cities people need vacation to have a unique experience. Every big city starts to be the same but it’s the little places that really provide charm and a real sense of what the region is like. In New England you’re talking about Salem, Gloucester, Newburyport, Portsmouth kittery , ogunquit, kennebunkoort, Portland etc

As a NH native, I can assure you no one heats them year round. They are in a historical museum setting. They do tours except in the winter, and only open for a Christmas carol type thing. Strawberry Banke is very cool, but NH has SO much more to offer. Like things that aren't just for show. The river is pronounced Piss-cat-eh-qwa.

Joey & Nichole, Its a Great Town to live in & tour. My Mom was stationed there during WWll at the Navy Base & Prison. She was the 1st Female P.A. in WWll. She Served at many Navy Bases during WWll. Dad was Chaplsin at New Hampshire University in Duram, I learned how to Snow Ski there & that 1st Winter was Minus-40'❄☃Degree's. Ouch. I've been in colder Climates since. You'al could spend a few days there just taking in & learning about the Historical Homes & Buildings. I can only imagine on your travels, it is not always easy to leave some States you go through & towns & cities. Well you can put them on your Bucket🪣🧾List for returns. always, Tommy🤠

I've heard you say a few times on other vids about how Europeans sometimes laugh at Americans when talking about history. Basically I reckon when they do laugh about it that they are history snobs. Speaking for the uk about when uk people laugh at Americans and say you have no history then I would argue that I rekon the usa possibly has more historical buildings than the uk but the uk obvs has some buildings which are before the usa was colonised but most of are 18th an 19th century buildings have been horribly knocked down. Especially in Liverpool which had multiple thousands of Georgian and victorian buildings which got pulled down for slum clearance when they could have easily been renovated and preserved. So I think the USA possibly has more victorian housing left and also a good number of quality victorian mansions left as well. Take no notice of are history snobs and be proud of what yas have.

You walked right by the most powerful public monument in Portsmouth at about 6:37 --- the African Burying Ground Memorial Park on Chestnut Street -- without a single comment! That was a serious omission. Portsmouth had a substantial population of enslaved people in the 18th century, whose endless work was a major part of the city's economy and social history. One hopes your viewers would find the Memorial sobering, inspiring and essential to an understanding of Portsmouth. Also compelling was the process by which the Memorial was researched, designed and built; it was a remarkable community-driven effort. (But you are correct --- Portsmouth is jammed in the summer, the parking enforcement is legendary, and a winter visit is to be recommended.)

When obamma was President he and his entourage contacted a small restaurant on Marcy St (that runs along part of Strawberry Bank) they welcomed obamma and his people. They promised to cover all their lost business for the day. Guess what those dirt bags did? If i`m not mistaken, the tab was 6000.00! They even shafted all the waitresses that waited on them! NO tips! The obamma loving owners were shocked and hurt that their dear leader could do such a thing after they promised to cover the owner`s lost business for the day for them having to close for the whole day to accommodate them stopping in. Obamma and his people just left without paying. The owners asked, What about our waitresses? They didnt care. They filed out and jumped in their SUVs and spend off. After countless attempts by the owners to collect their money and their staff that were shafted they were forced to go public and shame the dead beat obammers into paying the tab.
