Semedo was crazy today, I think Semedo/Mendes should be the 2 fullbacks if Portugal plays a team that's worse than them. With space, these two are fast and dynamic. If it's a hard opponent, they will need more technical players and I think Cancelo and Guerreiro/Dalot would be those. Crazy depth on that position.

Vitinha is actually underrated he went from a critisized dude at psg to one of our most important player scoring goals for fun I think he could take bruno or bernardoq spots
He won't take their spots because he plays in midfield, Bruno plays that advanced role and Bernardo RW I agree that he's been great this season and should be in the starting lineup Midfield of : Vitinha Palhinha Nunes ( I think this should end Danilo and Carvalho duo , they were great but very slow. Danilo can only play as CB in this team but he's benched all season at PSG now )
If you don’t need a natural cdm with paulinha , vitinha should run the middle of the park with Bruno and Bernardo. Portugal have so much talent and they need to release it and play their game.

cancelo is playing on the right and mendes (if fully fit) is playing on the left, or else its gonna be guerreiro. bernardo playing on the right wing and then its a race between otavio/vitinha/neves for CM next to Bruno.

Ruben Neves is phenomenal at Al-Hilal (Literally him and Savic are one of the best signings of the season despite being less polarizing than Kante, Fabinho, Benzema and Mahrez) so i think he will get some minutes if bruno doesn’t play well

As someone who is half Portuguese I’d say say Portugal under Martinez has proven that they can play effectively as the classic 4-3-3 and this hybrid 3-4-3. As much as I am a Ronaldo fanboy and he’s my goat I don’t think Portugal should start him, at least not every game. Use him as a super sub around the 55th minute mark. He needs to be man managed in a way where his 39 year old body can give the absolute most without restraint. I have full trust in Gonçalo Ramos and João Félix as the other strikers. For speed I think it’s vital to have Rafa and Neto as the wingers. But for passing I’d put Bernardo on the right and slide Otavio as my RCM. He did everything at Porto. Right mid winger, inverted playmaker, cuts in, plays cam or plays as a rcm. Palhinha at the CDM is a must. With cancelo no nuno Mendes as fullbacks. Undisputed CB are Ruben and Pepe and alternate him with Antonio Silva. Bruno Fernandes obviously starts. Matheus and Vitinha easily the midfielders to play a lot too. I don’t want to see Danilo pereira or William carvalho. Diogo Costa supreme gk with Jose Sá and Patricio as backups or Rui Silva.

Pedro Neto and Pote are currently injured. Neto worse, he should be back by may though which means he can be fit enough to get called for the national team but it will be tight.. Anyone have any insight or comments ? Thing is these two wouldn’t start by any means but they could be subbed on and help tremendously when Leao, Felix or Jota come off
Don’t mean this as a hate comment but I think Ronaldo and Pepe will not be started for every game as they are quite old. However, they will be starting the more important games and might be benched for some unimportant group stage games.
