After leaving Madeira to explore a brand new location in Portugal, I discover an almost covert & lesser known part of the country where hidden cultures & flavoursome food lie.

Aqui é a Lusitânia!

XVI. I lived not far from there, used to go often and buy stuff from the shops when i was a kid in the late 80's and 90's. Always known it as Rua dos Indianos, Indian's Street...i just can't remember if it was busy 'till 21h or midnight, but busy with commerce, there were no restaurants, just a couple mini-markets, the rest were shops (that Tasty Hut used to be a shop selling all kinds of stuff, sad to see it's not there anymore). This video brought back some memories of what it seems today, another life. Enjoy your visit.

What a a cool pad you had in Lisbon. We've heard that accommodation is pretty pricey now in the city? You really picked your place well, with tram 28, the castle and even a Continente so close by. Those hills looked like they got your heart pumping, surprised you didn't join the Bangladeshi football team, you must be getting fitter by the day! So pleased you had a grand time in this lovely city. All the best mate and keep em coming.
@RuePhoto
@RuePhoto Месяц назад
@@LivingWalks Thanks for watching Yvonne & Mike 😊 Yes Portugal truly tested & improved my fitness, but I'm still taking it easy with light & stamina building activies such as long walks. They played football there every night I was there! The apartment wasn't a bad price at all but there were a few faults with it which definitely needed attention, the location was perfect for my needs as I chose Martin Moniz for the Bangladesh aspect as most other visitors may choose a spot closer into central Baixa. There was so much to explore but with so little time, so I just took it easy as it'll allow me to visit again & check out what I'd missed. Have a truly beautiful week my friends 🤗

Ah yes those Lisbon hills do have a way of testing our fitness for sure. I hope you're feeling on the up day by day, just keep off the duty free poncha!! Playing football every night outside the window makes me think of India where we used to sit on our balcony ringside seat and enjoy the spectacle of football and cricket. I guess the Bangladeshi's aren't so much into cricket? Yes, there's just so much to explore in Lisbon isn't there, you'll just have to hop back there on your next trip to Madeira won't you?

Absolutely disgusting what’s going on in Lisbon, Porto and other areas of Portugal, this is insanity, don’t complain when the revolution/crusades start once again, History doesn’t repeat itself, but it often rhymes!

"Oh but Portugal didn't exist when the moors where here", well neither did India when we were there! Stop these ridiculous "reparational" arguments which are totally false. Now, NOBODY in right mind can say that we should close borders, that's ridiculous, BUT even more ridiculous is the notion that we are in what may very well be the begining of a SOCIAL CRISIS that may lead to a VERY serious situation.
