Thanx for the vidio. My father in law jst got one and it's his first amp and first guitar...he should not have gotten this but now I gota figure it out so I can get him going...its cool but complicated..I dnt like the idea of so much digital stuff. I like old fashioned amo and pedals..but I have a boss katana with I dnt realy love but it's what I could afforD

Received my Spark on the 22nd. Spent two days figuring it out. Then you publish this on the 24th! That’s my life nutshell! Good video! I looked for a video like this but only found reviews. At the end or the day, I really like the spark. You’re right about the chords in the jam not being perfect. They are close enough though. Thanks for taking the time to put this out!

I ordered mine May 4th and just got a notification yesterday from FedEx that they picked up a package that'll be delivered Wednesday. It was picked up in a suburb of LA called Santa Fe Springs. No notification from Positive Grid yet, but this wouldn't be the first time somebody got their Spark without hearing from PG. Got my fingers crossed. And thanks a ton for this video, it's going to come in very handy, very soon!

AJ Mark I just got mine yesterday, July 28th, I had my hip replaced last week so I’m not real mobile yet, I’m hoping it will give good sounding backing tracks for my acoustic blue’s I’ve been chipping away at finger style, I’m not all that good but love to play, my Spark came UPS, I ordered on May 30th.

Thanks, this is super-helpful. After I canceled my order out of delay frustration in May, PG sent me an email a month ago begging for another chance because the units were "in stock and ready to ship". I thought, sure, everyone needs a shot at redemption. It just came today (a month later), LOL. OK, so I'm not blown away, but it doesn't suck either. I'm just a basement hacker, so if I can get four good tones for my hacky playing, I'll sell my Kemper. Maybe. I do wish the interface was as flexible as Bias FX. I'd like to rearrange the stomps, maybe split the chain, double up on delays. Right now it's so rigid (That's what she said).

Help!! I finally got mine, but I can’t get any sound out of it whatsoever! I’ve got all the knobs set to mid range on both the amp and the software, but no matter where I set the volume or any of the knobs and no matter what setting I select (clean, crunch, etc) I get no sound. I know the amp is getting a signal from the guitar because the tuner lights dance when I hit a string. Am I missing something? Doing something wrong? Help?

Bought mine oct 14th, received it October 19th. Thing sounds amazing. I'm blown away. I was worried I'd have to wait longer to get it. It SAID it wasn't even supposed to SHIP until I think oct 24th... not bad considering there's a global pandemic... that said... here in Nova Scotia, we played it smart. Virtually zero Covid. Maybe that helped this get here faster?

Hello, honestly this amp has been really hyped up, I had to wait for mine for 4 months. Of course I had really high expectactions about it because all the videos from other youtubers saying how amazing this amp was. Most of the functions of this app have a delay when switching in between distortions either doing manual controls or through the phone app. I think i had more fun jamming with my line6 amp. Keep up the great videos!

Thanks! Yes you can put pedals in front. Specific to dirt, fuzz and distortion work better than overdrive, clean boost types

Question if I may... the amp models on the left knob. Are they totally independent of the 4 presets? Say I click preset 4 which might be super high gain plus phaser, and then turn the amp knob to a clean amp - what changes please? Eg would the phaser stay on? Thanks in advance

Hi Alan,lots of Qs! Are the competing amps better for a strat? Is there a limit on how many bars you can get it create a jam track? Is there a way to get it to show chords from iTunes or is that something they can bring out in an update? I have a Mooer GE150; can I hook it up to the Spark or should I not bother?

It doesn’t matter because the app dictates what is being done with the controls but you can reach over and turn them to change too

On the Spark webpage it has always said that you can use the spark to find chords from videos on RU-vid and Spotify. I have downloaded the app (to check it out) but not yet bought the spark amp and the app so far only lists Spotify. Can someone confirm if it can be used to show the chords in videos on RU-vid and with mp3 files in your mobile device?

I ordered TWO of these July 7th and just got ONE of them on July 31st. Actually, that's better than most complaints I have heard about Positive Grid. But, the website indicated that my amplifier would be shipped somewhere around August 17th and so I'm scratching my head wondering whether that meant my second amplifier? Customer service for this company is marginal, and it really doesn't make me want to deal with them after I receive my second amplifier. However, the little bit that I've played with the amp itself sounds pretty nice. I plan to use it for recording. The Steve Stine demo showed him using the headphone jack. Little has been shown using the USB plug in.

When I use one of these smart amps as a usb interface it kills my studio monitor so I can’t hear what I’m playing.

The Eagle has landed. Got my Spark this week. For jamming to music, do you know if you can import a playlist from RU-vid Music? I have the options to use Apple or Spotify but my subscription for now is Prime Music. I'd sign up for RU-vid Music if I knew that was an option. Thanks!

Spotify and iTunes is it. And even that will only bring in 20 songs from either of those but then will actually pull in audio from YT and not your device

Can you create a “smart jam” then grab you tablet to video record yourself, or do you always have to have the tablet in the Spark’s app mode?

So I just received mine and one thing I've been looking for but haven't been able to find.... When using your device to control your tone, where on the actual amp do you keep your volume levels? I've noticed that I've had to alter mine from tone to tone and that's something I would like to get out of. Where do you keep yours?

It depends but I too have to adjust output level on the amp sometimes between tones

Great video! What did you think of the JDG Orange Tele setting? I just had to contact Positive Grid because my Spark keeps freezing and is completely unresponsive when changing presets on the amp itself...

Great video! I got mine a month ago. It would be nice if it had pre-out to by pass the internal amp and use powered monitors or larger head amp. Other than that, it sounds great and has plenty of features.

Most EXCELLENT video. One question. Is that ANY way, say in a given effects chain to replace an effect with a different effect? For example instead of the Noise Gate at the front, you wanted the Graphic EQ? And for that matter, can you build an effects chain from scratch with whatever effects (pedals) and amp you want in any order? TIA.

Really appreciate your efforts in deciphering sparks comprehensive feature set. I'm wondering did you ever install any firmware updates available for the unit? Do you think the spark is worthy of the hype? Honestly, I just received my Spark last week and didn't even open the shipping box yet. I was considering returning it and using the money to buy a Gretsch G2655. Money is tight and I really like that guitar. Love your channel. Regards!

If your guitar has a decent neck and is playable I'd keep it. The sound is made in amplifier after all. With a properly wired guitar and cable and power on, it's uncanny silent.

Sorry - I’m just a RU-vid part timer and not good at tech support. I know nothing about android stuff. Likely the OS on your tablet is old and if you can’t update it you will have to use your phone.

Just got a Spark and your video really helped. Hope you can answer a question for me: What takes president, the knobs on the top of the amp or the presets in the app on my phone? So, for example, I am playing a preset. Then, I turn the tone knob (top left) or hit one of the preset buttons on the top right of the amp. The tone changes. Am I playing the presets on the app until I make a physical change on the amp? And say, for instance I am playing a preset on the amp, and then I switch to the app. How do I get back to where I was with the preset on the amp? Thanks.

I use mostly the app but it does respond to some of the controls on the top of the amp. When you turn say the bass knob on the amp you then see it turning in the app. Does that help? Would love to have you subscribe if not already! Welcome to the family! 🎸🤘🏻

Stupid question: can you get a good Gilmour and Santana sound out of the Spark? I have a Fender1x12 and a little Joyo Tube Amp and could do it but it would probably cost me more getting the pedals needed than getting a Spark...

Ordered mine on Sunday (Oct 16th) it arrived today. I guess the long turnaround isn't an issue anymore. The one thing they could have done was let me know it shipped, all I got was a notification from UPS that something was shipped from a business number
