Your birth videos have been so wonderful for me. When you talk about getting lost in the pain, I just cry because that had been my experience. My first was a C-section caused by the cascade of intervention and my second was natural at a birth center but I was still so overwhelmed and overtaken by the pain and struggle that I pushed for 8 hours. My fear of the pain totally kept my body from allowing the baby out. I felt like I would never have a birth I wanted to remember and cherish. But then during my third pregnancy I found your video where you talk about benign the bison and running into the storm and that just clicked with me. It became my motto. And that was my best birth! While painful I leaned into it and embraced the true purpose of it. It was a joyful labor and I had given up hope that I’d ever have that. So thank you so much. May the Lord bless you and your growing family! May He bless other mothers through you as well!

What a beautiful story! I pushed for two hours with my first born (cone head🤭) as well, and you’re exactly right…having guidance really helps! I didn’t have much with him. I always wanted more natural births but it just wasn’t an option where we lived. I even thought I wanted to become a midwife, but my path didn’t go in that direction. Birth is by far the most impactful, self-strengthening, beautiful experience there is.

Yes I agree it is a formative experience I want other women to at least think about and talk to God about instead of autopilot thinking they are helpless to whatever may home. Guidance just helps us know what we can do today to positively impact our pregnancy and birth and entrusting it all to Jesus.

You are such a beautiful soul! I wish I had found you during my pregnancies. I had very traumatic hospital births because I didn't know there were other options. Wisdom from other women I could have called upon. You will help so many, Lana!

Ah Molly, thank you for pausing to leaving a comment. So sorry about your difficult and traumatic births! I think this is what drives me to help. If I had not taken a specific elective class at UT I would have NEVER known either. And I just want women to know, talk to the Lord about their birth and prepare the best way they can come what may. You just gave me a surge of energy to keep going and trying to help other women, thank you for that!

I've thought about "going natural," but I can't because I have epilepsy. I struggle not to feel resentment and anger when I hear these stories. I'm 26, and my pregnancy is considered high risk. I'm so angry at God right now.

Ah I am so sorry for this hard struggle. I hear your hurt Emily. Praying for your pregnancy and that you and baby do well and for God to heal this epilepsy. Also, so sorry you are struggling with anger and resentment toward God, I think everyone if they were honest would say they have felt that at some point or another. While I have loved my natural births, I know that they really aren't the best for everyone, your birth is not second-class at all. That little nugget will be worth anything you have to go through with this pregnancy and labor. Consider going and watching my "You Can Still Change Video" I am praying it can be a help to you in this struggle, we ALL have a mountain to climb, some higher than others.
