The extra commentary on the video is so awesome Clay! I love etymology, and roots of where all our "common expressions" come from in the modern American English language.
What about the oil filler cap!? My Mercedes c class had it I replaced the cap..... and not leaking anymore.... oil was coming out and leaking down from the cap to the camshaft cover off that onto the head and then on to the exhaust manifold so I got a smell of burnet oil coming into the cabin....
I just bought a Used Toyota Tacoma used 2018 and I took it to my brothers auto shop and I had one of the mechanics look at the truck The only thing he seen was the oil pan gasket was warm and sweating and I have not even used a take of gas yet
Thanks for another spot that I can look into. I found some oil leak for my front area, then I changed the front cover gasket and main seal. There are still oil leak. Do you think there are turbo line leak from the front top area?
There was somebody in the comments that was telling me that I was missing the actual leak. Even though when I was done working on it, it didn’t leak anymore…. But he sounded like he knew what he was talking about so you may want to read through them. I’m sorry I don’t remember specifically what he was talking about but he commented on a comment
The video is very informative. It help me understand a little about engine oil leaks. The subtitle below is annoying for me. My left eye is reading it and my right eye is watching the vid. Well its just me none the least its a good vid. Thnx.
I have an oil leak in the area of my oil pan but below the gasket line and a lot of blow back...you think it could be my drain plug ?/ God bless you !!
We had glad packs installed to my son's truck, the very next day all the oil had leaked from the truck. Can changed be caused from installing glad packs? We will be taking it back to the auto shop that did the work
-My car leaks oil when the engine is on, but it doesn't leak when I'm driving at all. -The oil pressure light comes on sometimes when I am coming to a stop. - I ran the engine in park and looked under the hood. Oil was gushing off of my starter, which was getting leaked on from above it. I'm dealing with a rear main seal leak, right?
Ok I have a 1997 chevy k1500 5.7 brand new crate motor was put in back in 2017 7k miles on it since then well i got an oil leak a few months ago my mechanic changed the oil pressure sending unit it's still coming down the driver side of the block in the very back to the oil pan what could it be I'm scared to death it's goin to be a head gasket no other signs of a bad head gasket though no milky oil or coolant no smoke outta the tail pipe either idk what's wrong
Hey friend can there be a oil leak in the floor of back seats . I was about to buy a car but found back floor wet due to oil . They said that it must have got spilled by the owner but I thought that there must be a oil leakage so dropped the idea of buying it Plz reply
Not for any reason that I could possibly think of. And I’m almost certain that that is not something that is possible at least not engine oil sometimes people are just telling the truth
That’s the craziest thing I ever heard I have never heard of oil leaking inside a car before…. It might be another type of liquid could it possibly be coolant? Heater cores will leak on the inside of automobiles but no oil runs through anything inside the automobile that I’m aware of and I’ve been doing this for three decades I can’t think of any situation where oil runs into the vehicle it is also possible that if you have a manual transmission that you could have brake fluid or clutch fluid running into the vehicle I suppose
@@sharpcarco Thank you for the reply Clay! I took the car into another repair shop yesterday and he was stumped as well. My plan is to take the car to a valet service to get the mat 100% clean, hopefully that will be the end of my problem.
The text at the bottom is misleading and distracting I'd advise just talking in videos I find it hard to read and listen to you talk at the same time m8
Some people like it some people don’t sometimes I add in Important information (***) that I forgot to mention during the video. So it helps sometimes it’s difficult to remember everything while you’re trying to talk and hold the camera and make sure people can see what they need to see it’s always a work in progress and you can’t please all the people all the time
The Clay Way Stuff that pertains to the video is fine bro, he’s talking about the useless trivia. It’s distracting from your otherwise great video. Nobody but you likes it.
Well I respect your criticism as I respect everyone’s criticism but I would disagree with you I probably have more people tell me that they like it then don’t. But to be perfectly honest with you the real reason I do it. Is because repair videos get played one time. And when you add that information at the bottom of the video it becomes distracting which then in turn makes the video have a better retention rate. Contrary to popular belief’s subscribers have absolutely nothing to do with how much money you make on a RU-vid video. I make about 2/10 of a cent per video view and with that distraction down at the bottom I make about 4/10 of a cent. Every little bit adds up. regretfully I’m not a Baller like most RU-vid channels that are about absolutely nothing and do not help you get through life like repair videos. so show a little bit of respect for me and just watch the video or move on. Pay attention to the good stuff and leave the stuff you don’t like behind
my 86 f150 needs a oil pan gasket but I've got a huge leak thays spraying oil from the right side. its on my steering wheel, headers, fuel filter, and runs back to the drive shaft behind transmission.. I was going to do an oil change but I seen i had low oil so I put 6 quarts in and they ran out in a secounds. can't really tell where it's coming from but it started out spraying onto fuel line by the steering colom an onto the headers. any ideas?
Sorry I don’t know enough about the 86 F150 to be real helpful in this situation but if it’s losing that much oil it should be rather obvious unfortunately you’re gonna have to probably look a little bit closer
@@sharpcarco lol I've tried and I assumed it should be easy as well to find but the spray is on so many things it literally could be anything driver side wise anyways (hopefully that means its not a rear seal) only time its noticeable is under load which smokes so much you can't see and is to hot after smoke clears to check out as burning oil will just drop you lol. I appreciate the reply though especially how quick it was.
@@willriseabove6858 sounds like it maybe a head gasket issue or possibly that and it caused another issue that is shooting out the oil. Usually of it's that hot so fast u have more than oil issues
It surely was like that eventually I sent it to the scrap yard. But other than that oil leaking everywhere all over that car as long as we kept oil in it it ran great for a very long time.
