With attacks on vehicles, both loads and drivers, more secure parking areas are needed throughout UK and Europe. I take a look at this one in the south of France. Is this the model governments should be following? www.buymeacoff...
Thanks for sharing these insights on the trucking industry in Europe/Great Britain. Parking here in the states used to be fine, but these days it seems to be at a premium and sometimes it's very difficult to find a spot to stop and rest. Looking forward to more!

A few years ago when I was driving coaches. I parked up overnight in the bus station for a few nights , no problems. I got asked to move on the last night to hear the police station , and surprise surprise the coach got broken into . The vehicle got nearly emptied of the passengers belongings. Apparently an off duty frenc h copper was walking last and watched it . He was off duty on his way to work and not interested.

Looks an excellent place, esp with the solar panels and the bikes, handy if your there for a 24/45. Did you notice the cost per day? By the time the UK gets round to this kind of place the trucks will be driverless electric things so no need, a win win for the shiny arses!
I follow " the wandering mazungu" who had his fuel cards stolen north of Barcelona so any secure parking appears to be advised on that route. In the UK we have the areas which could be dedicated to more secure parking but it's not a priority or in developers eyes doesn't make enough money quick enough.
Unfortunately I know a few that have had problems all around this area. One guy even had his Xenon headlights stolen, in the day time! It’s generally not the load they are after here it’s, money, cards, passports, documents, all these can fetch a high price to the gangs and help to make forgeries. Barcelona is a beautiful city but well known for its pickpockets. One local told me, “be careful, we have a pickpocket for every language!”
Europe always did have better parking than UK n it doesn't cost a arm n leg but uk doesn't seam to care about drivers even 90% of stuff is delivered by truck .take care stay safe .
I have identified a perfect site ( not mine or anyone I know ) close to the A1M near Darlington. Told the MP but no feedback. The question is the investment and the penny-pinching of British drivers and hauliers, would they use it ? Retired driver myself.
Thanks for watching. Not all truck stops in Europe are like this. Most are exactly the same as in UK, just service areas with little to average facilities, this just happens to be a very good one.
Very utopian Sherralin. Sadly I think the day has passed to find land near to an arterial route due to our small land. The million pound investment would see a very small trickle of return. IF; the trucks decide to use the facility. How much is it on m/way svces? £25/35, so for secure parking you would have to charge extra, would the company pay the excess? Look at the M6 Toll Road. I have only seen it used by 1 truck vloger, but it is far quicker. Anyways I hope you found the right level in the park this time, so you didn't wake up with your head in the footwell! LOL!
