You can actually instantly deal 16000 Damage to the Cultist by placing 20 Mini Nuke 1s on the Dungeon roof 10 tiles above you. It quickly gets you through. Just remember that the mines activate consecutively, and don't stack simultaneously.
It seems like NPC immune frames would prevent this from happening, as you can see from the biome mimic demonstration in the video. Wish you could do that though.
Having Red give you a code even when youre talking about how bad their weapon designs are is like if valve sponsored fishstickonastick's bad weapon academy series
@@sockrteezI love the design and I think a lot could be done with it. My own personal buff idea would be to make it have an inherent buff to all rocket explosion size, but cap the size at that of a mini nuke. It should also be able to blow up midair if it gets close enough to an enemy, dealing average (normal) damage while still keeping the mines function, turning it into a much more versatile option which could properly compete with other launchers. Just my opinion though.
I was saying in another comments section: They should give this weapon the ability or add an additional variant that allows for the mines to become airborne. Airborne proximity mines with a faster fire rate to alleviate the slow setup would eliminate the weapon's 2 biggest problems.
@@chicomanara love the electro sphere launcher but damn it's a bit weird, since it uses a lingering hitbox as opposed to a 1-hit. Can hit some wild DPS on slow moving and predictable targets though
I was thinking about obscure Terraria items and entities, and one of them that came to mind were the unique mine projectiles this gun makes. Namely the dry mine that removes liquids when it explodes, but only detonates when an enemy stands on it which is probably one of the most arbitrary things in this game.
For Something You Can Get As Soon As Killing Plantera, It's Good For Farming For The Pumpkin Or Frost Moon, As It's A Great Crowed Control Weapon, Although You Should Use Something Else Once The Bosses Start Spawning.
It's been a minute since I last used the Proximity Mine Launcher, but if I remember correctly, there's a hard limit (separate from the overall projectile limit) on how many mines you can have set at a time. Don't remember if firing a mine after reaching that limit causes the first mine to explode or merely despawn, but still it's sad there's a limit at all.
I've used it on my master mode eclipse event, and I found it surprisingly useful when you wanna play defensively against large group of non flying enemies. It's certainly not the best choice, but definitely a reason able option.
Ironically, It's actually a pretty good weapon against Plantera if you have a multi-tier boss arena with a few solid blocks now and again. It's also pretty decent in the post-Plantera Dungeon due to the sheer volume of small-to-medium enemies.
Hey, considering that you are making these series of critiquing the game, I thought it would be a good opportunity to point the issues with shimmer and the potential solutions my current biggest issue is with the intangible debuff, which I think should also affect minions and make enemies not see you (and go away), so if you pass 10 seconds shimmered a boss despawns This would make more sense within the concept of intangibility (you still get damage from bosses ) Also pointing that the Guide never mentions the Shimmer at all, or any npc (a fitting one would be The Wizard or The Witch Doctor, vaguely mentioning the shimmer) What do you think?
That reminds me of my master mode specalist ranger run that I did with a friend (he was going bows only) and this weapon was much like the nimbus rod. Only lay down the mine before the battle or when you get a chance to (also yeah it sucks on golem). The plan with this weapon is to lead the enemies into the mines, but iIfeel like a better version of this weapon was if the mines could float in the air. Having air mines would give me a reason to buy from the Cyborg and not mark him as useless npc in my runs.
It’s ok with farming the dungeon without making a farm. If you place the mines in places enemies get stuck (finding a good angle and ricocheting them into those places)
I'm offended by your launcher slander. Unfortunately I kinda get it because its the only weapon type rangers don't get a specific accessory for, while guns get the Sniper Scope and Bows get Magic Quiver and its upgrades, launchers have to carry their weight in the weapons themselves (and what rockets you use if they consume rockets). I think the Snowman Cannon, Electrosphere Launcher, Piranha Gun, Nailgun and Elf Melter (and let's not forget Celebration Mk2) all carry their weight for launchers, but the rest are either just OK or kinda suck
Most launchers in the game are just too weak for their cost to use for me And then there's the snowman cannon, a weapon i genuinly think could be used in place of either vortex pillar weapon, it's CRIMINALLY underused
As a Terraria PvP player, this weapon is genuinely more ban-worthy than the Zenith because the mines are practically impossible to see once placed and deal a ludicrous amount of damage to other players, even being able to chain several into an immediate kill (if the first one didn't one-shot). Combining the vortex or shroomite armor sets with this weapon is genuinely ridiculous in PvP fr
Definitely falls into a vast category of secondary weapons, shining when applied during niche circumstances or downtime of other primary weapons instead of being the centerfold of your arms catalogue. Of course this falls on deaf ears to any player who simply can't process the concept of using a weapon with cross class damage types.
When i first played terraria i actually saw this weapon and checked it out, used it to take down the destroyer a bunch of times in order to farm some money. ( i was on mobile and was having skill issue, beat the game in 72 hours)
Day 32 of being that one guy who asks that one question until sockr post a video saying that it is Hero's mod what's the name for the last mod where the gun has no cooldown for their attacks?
If you use the proximity mine launcher in a pvp arena with mini nukes 1 you could trap the hole plays or camp somewhere and let your friends find out what you did lol
My friend and I decided to use this in a “no immunity frames” challenge run. Placed about 50 mines down on top of where duke fishron would spawn and shredded its HP. It’s pretty useless to stack mines under normal gameplay circumstances though
I remember buying this from the cyborg on my first world on the PS3. I thought it was just a standard launcher for rockets until I started taking self damage because of the enemies that walked on the mines.
I used to use this before I was able to get the rocket launcher, but now I prefer the grenade launcher, because aside from the 3x damage multiplier thing, they're functionally the same, and the rocket launcher makes a cooler noise
I used this weapon in the jungle temple during my first ever expert ranger run. I used it to lay traps to make my way through the temple more safely. I did more damage to myself than enemies. It so hard to see them on the detailed floor and tight corridors. I wouldn’t recommend it
Dude, I’ve been stuck with thing because I decided I’d go for the launcher subclass. It deals higher damage than the grenade launcher but it has never been worth it to use.
