He would be clear cut consensus number 1 pick if it wasn't for injuries that is very worry some having 2 big knee injuries while still only being 18 years old.
So now I'm hearing it was a sprain but there's a lot of ambiguity with how the team is describing the injury. His team is saying that Nikola's injury does not require surgery 'for now'. I think we could be looking at a situation similar to what happened with Michael Porter Jr. when the Nuggets picked him up after he fell all the way to 14 because of his back surgery. Could the Spurs pick up Topic with their 8th pick?
After the combine, I can see Dillingham's stock fall. Another small, skinny SG playing as a PG. Same thing with Bones Ryland, Nick Smith, and Kobe Bufkin. Also, this is considered a weak class, I can see Ron Holland going high. You draft based on traits and intangibles.
As a hornets fan I’m super high on Stephon Castle and want him at pick 6. Great combo guard who plays his role perfectly and makes winning plays. Also a great defender
@@baltimoregetup9537 I think Risacher is gonna get massively Overdrafted. My comment was asking how SROS could possibly be talking ab his ball handling as a big strength and then immediately turn around and say yeah he’s not gonna create a shot So wtf is he doing with the ball😂
@@Sros1 I’m a cavs fan. He doesn’t do any of that stuff he did at usc anymore. Not a translatable skill for him and imo will be the same for Risacher. He/theyre not gonna get the opportunities to create for others if they can’t create for themself
EDIT: Givony reported it was only a sprain. Looked really bad at the time. Looks like Topic just tore his ACL. No confirmation but he couldn't put any pressure on it and had to be helped off the floor by two people.
@@TsukiRaiki I didn't want him but I wanted Washington to take him in the hopes it could cause Risacher to fall to four. Really tough break for him. If it's ACL his 2024-25 season is gone and his 2025-26 season will likely be underwhelming and cause him to slip in what could already be a pretty good 2026 draft. That injury might have just cost Topic around $50 million based on a 4 year rookie scale deal when picked #2.
I love Tristan da Silva going to my Sixers he's such a good do-it-all combo forward who can space the floor too but Devin Carter would be a great fit too and the draft would be an A+ if we can somehow snag Ryan Dunn as a late first for cheap too
With Cade & Ivey already on the team why would the pistons draft another PG that can’t shoot/space the floor. That’s half their problem now NO spacing or shooting
It's strange. I know they are exceptional, but with Joker and Embid competing for MVP the last 2-3 years and Wemby as unanimous ROY, shouldn't more teams think about size? I see too many teams that are good but lacking that and it costs them in the playoffs.
Based off what Ime said after the lottery there is 0 chance they take Risacher lol - his comments perfectly described Sheppard. But I expect them to trade back
From a Rockets fan POV, based on Udoka's comments; we should and probably will take Reed Sheppard. I think a Houston Big Board goes 1. Sarr 2. Sheppard 3. Topic 4. Dillingham. There's a log jam at forward with Brooks (or whoever we trade for lol). Jabari and Tari Eason. Amen is playing more like a wing recently, so having a guard seems more useful with the pick. Love the vids Matt!
I’ve been getting higher and higher on Tidjane over the last week or so. I’d love my Bulls to draft him. I’m guess we move at least 3 of Zach, Caruso, Vuc, Lonzo, and Carter, so I hope we net at least one more pick this year. I like Ware, Missi, Coleman Hawkins, Judah Mintz. Maybe get Terrence Shannon depending on where he falls.
@@chitownsports5572 For a year, probably. He is still 18. He’s listed at 207lbs. I’d like to get that up to at least 220 if he’s going to match up against bigs.
I’d love the Tidjane pick and if we can get another mid to late first on a draft night trade I’d love to snag Zach Edey….thats a dream draft night for the bulls Imo
Castle is another long project go after Sheppard he is the perfect spurs player hard working mentality elite shooter and also a very good defender. Also has potential to be a very good playmaker as well.
I think the draft is like a normal draft if you got rid of picks #1, #2, #3, #7, #12, #16. Is that fair to say? so the top 2 picks are like #4, and #5 and the end of the lottery is like a #20 pick
As a blazers fan I see us taking a wing over a center with pick 7. Someone to back up Jerami Grant before we trade him that can also fill the PF spot when we need them to
Sros there’s nothing more I wanted than a full round draft pick to see my wizards 1sts and you are the first to deliver. Thanks so much!!! You are ten times better than utility sports
His Career is probably done guys with so many injuries at age 18 or younger likely don't go far in sports its a huge concern that he already has an ACL tear at age 18.
As a Blazers fan, I'd prefer not to have the forwards too competitive and crowded up while we continue to look to develop both Bari and Toumani. It seems outside of here in Portland, most people do not like Bari for some odd reason (he reminds me a lot of the manimal honestly), but I really appreciate what he brings, and his energy is so necessary to a otherwise shoddy roster and team success-wise. Toumani I couldn't be higher on, and I sincerely believe he's got limitless potential, and his mentality and non-stop effort on both ends play is not because of some insecurity with being a second round pick and thus just trying to do so until he earns his first big contract. I believe that's just him as a player. So we need to focus on them. Crowding up the center spot though I'm game for. DA is inconsistent and you just never know if he's going to play with confidence and aggression, or if he's gonna play lazily with little to no real effort or care. Rob is injury prone, and honestly he should be traded if the front office is smart. We need a proper backup big that hopefully can play some 4 as well reliably when Bari and Tou aren't playing there. JG needs to be traded too, so this is pretending the front office is actually competent and trades him out to open that starting spot.
I have a good feeling Blazers are gonna trade a vet like Grant, Simons, or Brogdon to get into the top 4. There's no way they're happy with winning 7th and 14th picks with how their rebuild is going so far.
Getting screwed like the Pistons again, but still being able to get a LB like Thad Castle at #5 to Loan to the Lions so they can try all over again this year for #1 is honestly a dream scenario for the City.
I will definitely be making plenty of mocks between now and the day of the night of the draft, other than Sarr if I get the rest of the first round picks right I'll be shocked, I might even get Sarr wrong, what if Atlanta goes in a surprise direction and takes Zach Edey which to me is not a top pick or even a lottery pick, even though I heard he had a good combine
I had Topic and Dillingham going to the Spurs, some would say why would the Spurs take two point guards, I think they need point guard bad, with hearing what I heard about Topic , I had him at 4, and think he will move down further. My mock draft I have is going to change, I definitely love the idea of Reed Sheppard to the Hornets, as a backup to LaMelo or even out on the court, and having Miller play the 3 at those moments, Buzelis if drafted by the Hornets would give them some size at 1,2.3 with LaMelo, Brandon MIller and Buzelis , I don't know much about Buzelis but if he is solid defensively that would be exciting for the Hornets.
Interesting trade idea for you! Pelicans get: Dejounte Murry and Okongwu Kings get: Brandon Ingram and Larry Nance Hawks get: Harrison Barnes and Kevin heurter, dillion Mitchell and Dyson Daniels plus 2 first from kings and 1 from pelicans lottery protected. Hawks start the rebuild, they get more first round picks along with some young talent with some vets that can be flipped down the line. Kings get that 3rd star, he can provide scoring and some defense and with Larry nance a good back up big. The pelicans finally get that guard they want and they can get a starting center as well, thus why they had to give up a first. I believe the salary works but lmk. Thoughts?
Really sucks for the raptors. Unless we trade Yak and try and tank one year. Tell Scottie / IQ / RJ the plan. Need one more core piece to add to them and gradey. If raps can get into the top five next year, then we will forget about whatever did or didn’t happen in the 2024 draft. The 2025 draft is set to be twice as good as the 2024. There will be studs found in 2024. But 2025 has higher end talent across the board
Ok... But, How do you feel about the Hornets taking Matas at 6? Some of the better lineups for the Hornets had Brandon Miller at the 2. Imagine the shooting, length, switchability, Shooting, passing, dribbling of THAT Squad. If healthy of course. Melo Miller Miles Matas Mark The Millions Lineup. Them M's.
Are we assuming trades before the draft? I don’t see how Portland takes Clingan unless you’re assuming we’ve already kicked out Ayton and/or RobWill. It’s gonna be extremely ugly if we have 3 guys who all really should get starter minutes and can’t play together, even 2 of them feel like a big waste. I also think we should go for ceiling instead of floor. Clingan has one of the highest if not the highest floor, but he really isn’t close to having the highest ceiling at our pick.
Not dillingham he would be terrible with us to many mouths to feed take reed he can get Justin holidays minutes and be the back up pg move amen to the back up 3 or 4
@@bizzyboomin9277 amen is already the 3 and the only pg we have is fvv which is good but not with our timeline, I like all 3 but I think dillingham has the highest upside and can still help us with shooting.
I think Ime Udoka is going to fall in love with Ron Holland and pick him at 3. The guy is just the best defender in this draft and I think Udoka is gonna develop him well.
Clingan at 2 is way to high better to just go for upside with holland, buzelis,or holland wizards Don’t know why kings would draft Devon carter I guess for a backup but they need size more than anything Don’t know why portaland would draft collier when you have scoot,Simmons and sharpe and castle to many guards even though castle can play 1-3 Everything else is fine
@@Wrestle_Kingdom 1-Yes, there are more talented players in the draft than Clingan. But the most needed position for wizards is the center. Well Avdija had to play center for a while. To me, Clingan looks like the best player whose MAIN position is CENTER. 2-I think Carter is capable of doing everything Sacramento expects from Davion Mitchell. (Davion didn't show much of his potential) 3-It is rumored that Portland could trade Simons or Scoot. Sharpe and Simons also have injury problems. But of course, unless they trade their guard, Tyler Smith would be a more logical choice for Portland...
@@JJD0 i understand they need a center but the wizards are not in a position to draft base off of need they’re in the first year of there rebuild after the 2024 draft they can draft off need they still need their franchise player plus they can just get one next year or in the secound round Devin carter Isn’t the worse pick I’m super high on him I think he should easily a lottery pick
Wouldn't blame Memphis at UT the guy had such a aura and the fans loved him him staying in TN would probably help ticket sales alone lol, especially with how much bad luck they keep having with Ja Morant this last few years.
not to mention Dalton is a really impressive dude to watch, he practices his ass off and he definitely has the work ethic to be someone really good in the league in a few years imo
I don’t watch him like crazy but what is the problem with Zach Eden besides age and lack of athleticism, which isn’t that bad. He is huge, plays well, stats are crazy at a good college. I don’t know how he isn’t like top 3 in this class
If we were in the 2000's he'd have been a top 3 pick, but because of the rise of small ball and the meteoric rise of the 3 point shot that's why he's considered a late first
A player has to play defense to earn his minutes in Spurs. Dillingham is not the guy. He's better somewhere else since he has that star potential. It's just not a great fit for the Spurs since he's ball dominant. Wizards will need bigman or scoring guard so Dillingham or Clingan will be their pick. Spurs will have Topic and Knecht for their 4th and 8th pick.
how do you justify Stephon Castle for the pistons at 5? It makes 0 sense, they still have Ivey who is pretty similar offensively with Castle, and considering the lack of spacing it was weird to see you not even consider Knecht, or even Buzelis who has good mechanics but the numbers didn't show it They added a lockdown defender last year, and it has set them back imo because you have 3 guys in your starting lineup currently that are below average from three (Ivey, Ausar, Duren)
This is a bit of a disaster scenario for the Spurs, with their 2 best fits going at 2 and 3. I think if you can get Risacher at 4, then one of the point guards will fall to 8, due to the teams picking 5-7. I don't mind Holland at 8, but they are the last team that will take a guy with character issues if those rumours are true.
I really like Kyshawn George, but I feel like Kel’el Ware fits the Bucks way too well to pass on him. His potential is basically Brook Lopez but more athletic.
Devin Carter I'd be okay with for the Magic, I'd rather have Tyler Kolek only because can you imagine, how much easier he'd make things for Suggs, Franz and Paolo
I have a take that hawks learned the lesson by trading away Luka for Trae young . They have a second chance to do this all over again n see Nikola topic as there due over with that draft. Not saying topic will be doncic but who knows they do have sum similarities. Or I’m overthinking it n they just do get sarr
If I was any team picking in the top three, I’d trade down. The value between the #1 pick and the #10 pick are purely based on the team and the scheme. There are no franchise changers in this draft.
Gm won't risk with Topic in top 5, Spurs shouldn't, too. He is good, but there is a question about injuries, Rob D is a good choice, and I hope that Reed could be picked up at 8.
If the raptors draft Missi at 19, maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to explore a jakob poeltl trade on draft night. i think a team like the thunder who's biggest weakness is probably their rebounding would be willing to give number 12 for poeltl and maybe a couple seconds or something of that nature. Raptors continue to stack up young pieces as they figure out who their guys will be. thunder trade one of their million first round picks to get a guy who will be one of the best backup centers in the league and will help them contend next year
@@Wrestle_Kingdom maybe, but maybe they are ready to do everything they can to compete now. they have enough young talent. Whoever they draft wouldn’t get a chance to fully develop
@@Ali-wi8bx the reason okc wouldn’t do it is because of how they play it a reason why okc past on traditional bigs in every draft and in free agency, okc wants everyone to dribble, pass, shoot if you don’t fit that criteria okc not interested
@@Wrestle_Kingdom I understand what you're saying. Maybe a good pick up for OKC would be valanciunas in FA. Great rebounder who isn't the best three point shooter but can knock it down.
@@Ali-wi8bx nah when i say shoot I mean in terms of attempts okc wants guys who are willing shooters if it come down to that player shooting 8 3”s will they do it Val Isn’t that The only bugs that would be realistic that okc could for with trades or free agency would be Kelly olynk other than that it going to be through the draft
