This was not their usual recording condition (the chords). It was on their day off at a recording studio in Zurich, Switzerland during their 2015 European tour after a week of touring. Haley had only joined PMJ a week before in Berlin, asked if she could perform Scott's Radiohead in Lyon France, they recorded this shortly after. Scott has famously retold the "One Take" story of Creep and has even dedicated a section of his book to the song and Haley's cover of it.

So she asked Scott if she could sing their cover of Creep, her first performance of the song was in Lyon, France. I've always admired PMJ for predominantly acoustic instrumentals. You could play this live on a street corner and be every bit as good. Scott Bradley is a musical genius
You just experienced one of the top jazz emotive singer performers on the planet. Haley is just adorable and her voice is as sultry as one can get!! This was reported to be a one take performance and she had a bit of a cold at the time as well.
Marilyn Monroe, Jessica Rabbit and the big bad wolf, all rolled into one this was one and done, one pass at the end of a grueling day, I think she was feeling under the weather as well no post processing of any significance, just pure talent this should go down in the books as a masterpiece
Haley has to be my absolute favourite singer on PostModern Jukebox (not that the others aren't great as well). But shes my number one for sure...the bloody best you can get! Definitely watch all her songs on the channel. They're all fantastic.
Although I'm new to Haley I've watched a few of her performances of different genres in my opinion she only truly comes alive singing jazz I believe if she concentrates on this so could become one of the modern day greats
I saw PMJ live and he has 6-8 singers in the show rotating song by song. Go seevthem live. Scott Bradley started this in his apt and loaded up anew song every weekuntil he got so big that he sold out his first tour with no album. Its been a phenomenal series of events and continues to grow. Check out all the jazz remakes of current pop tunes. He really knows how to couch the singers phrasing with just the right amount of piano.
Haley is one of the top jazz expressionists in the industry. She was an American idol many years ago and I believe may have made the finals. Her rendition of House of the rising Sun during the competition gained her a great amount of recognition. Her soulful and sultry presentation with her rasps and growls at appropriate times combine for totally unique vocals. She is Master class.
Yep. She has unmatched vocal tools in the music business, but her claim to fame is how she uses them so skillfully and effortlessly. Forced rasps, growls, and scatting are cringeworthy, but she uses them to perfection. I understand her professional musician parents had her performing on stage with them from a very early age. That would explain the professionalism of her presentation.

THAT, my friend, is attention to detail. So was the comment about the horn follow-through. Not one other reactor has ever picked up on that. I watch every reaction to Haley's "Creep." You more than anyone else clarified the astounding talent that brought a vulgarized hard rock attack dog lyric into an emotion laden seduction, Basin Street jazz symphonic performance that demands to be looped and never turned off.
Actually, Haley did two takes of Creep that day, but the first take was the one Scott used. So it's the same thing as only one take since the first take of the two takes was the take used for the music video.
This is such a stellar performance by everyone. Have you heard Faouzia’s version of Eiffel 65’s “Blue (Da Ba Dee)”. Technically it’s not a great recording, but even though I knew all the lyrics, I swear I never ‘heard’ it before.

This is a great rendition of this song. I love the way Hailey performs it. I was lucky enough to see her in concert last month. Awesome concert. She performed this song and absolutely killed it. I highly recommend checking her out if she is anywhere close to you.

I think I could see how someone could come up with this cover of Creep having a background in jazz and knowing the song, but they've definitely surprised me - usually in a good way. I thought there was no way they could do a good cover of Smells Like Teen Spirit, but they did. It's even more different from the original than this one is, though. I haven't seen anyone on RU-vid react to it, though! Anyway, few other songs they transformed in surprisingly good ways would be Seven Nation Army, Black Hole Sun, and Welcome to the Jungle. I've seen a handful of people react to the first two, but nobody's reacted their version of Welcome to the Jungle it seems.

In my view, Morgan James is more suited for Broadway. She has great belts but cannot project soft passages. Watch Prudence, she has to squint to get a muted sound, while Haley breezes trough it, without effort. Haley’s dynamic range is off the chart, and then add growls, yodel and scat, and you have the best PMJ can offer.

I think the PMJ cover of Creep is the single best musical performance I've seen on RU-vid and their cover of Dream On is my second favorite. My opinion; yours is almost certainly different but there is no place where I said "Morgan James is better than Haley Reinhart". Just trying to give ADogg a suggestion for something else to react to.

The fact is that both Morgan and Robyn Adele never led PMJ’s roster. It took Haley to do so. Most reactions to All About That Bass are from comments to Creep reactions. And most reactors assume that Morgan and Arianna are backup singers for Haley.
