Sky hook is really really hard to guard and its really useful if you are a center. if you master it, you can make urself one of the top scorers on ur team. It is worth training for if u are tall and looking for a move to score with
Back down should at least be high A. For the rest of the moves to work, there needs to be the threat of backing the defender down. It’s the basis of post moves. Besides that great video
coach you a real one ! all this knowledge for free is crazy. i watch ya vids before runs and i can feel myself improvin every game. thank you truly, man
@@sherlock4791 Don't listen to those casuals yo. Jordan used those moves with great success. Kobe too. T-Mac too. Kyrie too. Lebron uses them. Great move. Most people that comment on here aren't athletic enough to do the fade
Even for the best players in the world it’s a low percentage shot. Why choose to waste a play on a shot that’s unlikely to go in when there are other looks? There’s a reason why Kareem’s sky hook and Jordan and dirk’s fadeaways stand out above any other. Nobody else could get it to work like that. Seems silly to cite the one of the greatest ever had success with it so it must be good.
I think a fade away really depends on your shooting touch. It would problably work best with people like Carmelo Anthony who has a very smooth jumper. And if you're a bit undersized too, since you might have trouble if you don't make seperation if you're a bit shorter. Great video as always, will be trying out these moves👍
The fade away requires leaping ability and strength. The fact that you’re fading away will give the ball touch. But once you leap and fade away. You’re wrist need to be strong enough to get the ball to the hoop.
I am a 5 3 PG. I am great at dribbling and shooting but get blocked a lot. These added a new dimension to my scoring and now i am untouchable. Thanks coach frikki.
What this ranking actually does is say that moves that depend on the defense completly giving you one side and/or sleeping are better than moves needed against a reactive defense. Got to agree that passing should be option 1 tho
I absolutely disagree with passing being number one. The post is one of the best places to get high percentage looks. Passing should only be used once you have drawn a double team, not as your first look. If you aren't a threat to score in the post, then you won't get good openings on your passes.
I would say Sky Hook and Fadeaway is the skill whenever you want to use its so hard to master and impossible to gurad. When you master it, they are the S++ skills
Excellent video, as always! There is no release in this channel I don't watch asap. But in this one I couldn't quite get the difference between the quick spin and the shoulder spin, could you explain a bit?
In my personal opinion the step through should be higher. Broken move, forces your defender actually never leave their feet or risk a wide open layup. It's a great mix up and usually if it doesn't work fully you can still draw a foul with it
Good interpretive breakdown. The only gripe is the fadeaway ranked so low, yet arguably the best players in the league to ever play the game use it as their primary attack. So that means the post is not for just "bigs"
I don't understand the hook shot in C. You don't have to do it from half the paint, and it you practice it with the backboard, it's easy to mastering it. I maybe said this beacause it's my go to move, but I think it deserve a better rank. Btw great video
jump hook is an easy S-tier. the problem is that a lot of people do it wrong. if you actually shoot the hook shot over your shoulder instead of facing up to do it, they defender has little chance of blocking, even if they are a lot taller.
Just because the sky hook is hard to make doesn’t mean it’s a bad move. If you train it and become good at it it’s a great shot. It’s like saying a floater is a bad shot just because it’s difficult to make
In a drop step, you are going towards the basket and getting under the defender. In a shoulder spin, you’re not always moving towards the basket and the defender is still next to you.
I gree that the sky hook and fade away moves are ranked at C because they are tough to make, but let's be honest if you have 100% control of that moves you become unstoppable, look MJ, Kobe and Dirk with the fade and Kareem with the sky hook what they got
Unless you’re on the block. I think you need leaping ability, and , strength , to do a fadeaway . I don’t think it will ever be practical unless you have those two things.
I found it funny how the 2 of the most famous signature moves that have won so many championships are in the bottom of the list... I'm talking about Kareem's Sky Hook and Jordan and Kobe Fadeaway. I'm not saying that is wrong to put them there, cuz they're really tough to make and tougher to do it consistently, but sure is kinda curious.
