Fujitsu wrote the Horizon software in such a way that it would be cheaper than competitors and so they would win the POL tender, brown envelopes excepted. The real profits would be gained by lucrative updates over the following years, but the system went wrong too early hence the rampant denials from POL and even the Union representative who all must have enjoyed incentives to do so. No amount of plumb in the mouth verbal offerings can mask the scandalous behaviour of people who should know a lot better in addressing and action surrounding the realities of running a major business. All the events are at the expense and reputation and indeed LIVES of the ordinary men and women who were wrongly accused and convicted. It is indeed a medieval and disgraceful. RIP the UK in intensive care forever.
