I watched her today and when the barrister talked about the PO being able to do their own prosecution, she said she was not aware they could and didn't know over a 5 yr. period. I knew and was told this by my parents years ago!!! Total fraud.
Me too. I worked as a Christmas casual for royal mail one year for three months and found out then. Yet she wants you to believe that after five years as CEO of POL she didn't know.

I listened to the whole of her Day 1 witness testimony, I got rather sick of her saying "sorry" and "I regret" mainly because neither statement rang true.
She wasn't upset when a man took his own life or innocent people's lives were ruined she cried when she realised that everyone knew she knew the whole time
She is crying over been found out. How many tears were she over mams and dads going to prison. Or committing suicide. Loosing there homes, being made bankrupt. I think she should feel what it’s like to go to prison, and need a lot more tissues for her tears. Religious person I don’t think so.
She is crying because she knows that her reputation has been shredded beyond redemption, and there is a good chance she will go to jail, hopefully along with several other members of her team who knew exactly what they were doing.

It appears that there was very aggressive pursuit of sub-postmasters for criminal activity based on Horizon data, but there was no interest in or attempt to understand why this "fraudulent" activity was happening in the first place.
At least she has given evidence and has apologised and cried ..Jane Macleod buggered off back to Australia and wouldn't even give evidence..and she's the GC that drove the litigation v JFSA ..and the Appeal..and witheld crucial.information from the Board.
The insanity it took so long to do anything about the cruelty perpetrated against the postmasters. The elitism of Ms Vennells, the board, the management team demonstrated towards the post masters was blindingly arrogant on every level. It has been and continues to be private school entitlement process of “we will do as what we want when we want”.
The purpose of "partnership" is to be a full partner. Transparency is the key to that. It's so rich to see her pretend on that one video, dressed as a postal employee doing symbolic work, while ignoring any signals of problems. Holding the sub postmasters in contempt, only caring about the "brand". Like Thomas Mann's "Buddenbrooks", with the leitmotif of the "firm", endlessly repeated, while the "firm" and the family slowly dissolve.
Laws in the UK need to be brought in to protect the public against these criminals and fraudsters acting in the UK corporate world! Accountability laws are what is needed to make the wrongdoers do the right thing in the future!
