This video deals with the different protocols that can be followed after a successfully done flexor tendon repair.
The protocols like the Early active protocols of Strickland, Evans and Sinferskiold are discussed. The early passive protocols like the Duran and Houser and the Kleinert protocols are also discussed in detail along with the modifications of the Kleinert regimen.
The Immobilisation protocol is also indicated in some patients and the details of this are also discussed.
The different methods of tendon exercises - the Tendon Gliding exercises, tendon blocking exercises and the tenodesis exercises are explained with illustrations and videos.
The Groth 'pyramid' concept is discussed with an algorithmic approach.
Different methods of Outcome measurement like the Strickland and Glogovac method, Buck Gramcko method and the TAM scoring are analysed.

Sir you have covered everything in vivid detail , very useful Few requests sir- - could you give a lecture on peripheral nerve injuries radial/ median/ulnar. I've heard your nerve lectures are legendary. I understand that itself will take 2-3 months to cover - could you cover topics like swan neck/ boutonnieres . As these are not commonly discussed. - could you dwell into topics other than hand injury like lower limb reconstruction , burns ... As im sure you have extensive experience in those areas too . - could you pls cover congenital hand anomalies in the future.. - our faternity is truly blessed to have teacher's like you , as not many ppl will share their knowledge...

I thank you very much for this information as I continue my journey after going through surgery for my middle finger. I’ve watched prior videos that go into the actual surgery before getting the surgery to reassure all would be well and I was able to talk to my Surgeon beforehand to prepare for such an operation. Thanks again and I’m looking forward to full recovery.

Sir, your lection probably has saved my fingers! Thank you very much! May I ask a question? How much time should pass after flexor tendon repair before I can safely go back to heavy exercises in a gym? I have such a scare of rerupture!
@GKHandSurgery
@GKHandSurgery 3 года назад
After 3 months, you can gradually start increasing the weights you lift. Very slowly, over a period of another 4 months, you can reach your weights level that you had before the injury.
