Thanks for that great update guys, it's been eagerly anticipated all week! Eric, congrats on the top 10 in a very competitive field and Paula on your strong showing in your first race back from injury. With all that you both do and have going on it's quite impressive! Paula hopefully the ankle is nothing too serious and it's nice you have the Lever to help with recovery if needed. I loved the Collins Cup and thought for a first-time event and the complexities of the format the production was very good. New TTL tees look good 👍 Have a great week!

Completely agree about the media investment!!! Timely. This is THE heroic athletic epic event worth watching- so many friends tuning in from diverse sports! Think people are starting to realize. Fantastic to hear the narrative about how the race went, always interesting to hear problem solving strategies, and how trainings translated this in real time race reality. Looking forward to long sleeve fall wear. Happy to support your efforts and psyched for St George! Great work to you both in an intense field.

Putting out a great video after such a long trip to and from Slovakia and doing life as well speaks volumes to the commitment you have to your channel, growing the sport of triathlon and giving us that birds eye view of what it’s like as a pro! LOVED watching all of the Collins Cup! Plus bonus was getting a video from y'all mid-week about the hype. Really enjoying these low key videos and then cheering y'all from afar for races. Eric, you are such a fast swimmer - can you say a little about the swim for you? Are you up in the first pack or do you preserve your energy? Paula, was so stoked to see you paired with Lucy & Katie. Just a great weekend of viewing all around for the Collins Cup. (Don't read Slowtwitch! they complain about everything -- buncha dudes). Y'all are awesome. Thank you for keeping it going - you were my inspirational content during the pandemic lock downs and now helping me to get back to racing after a year of low motivation and some injuries (from sitting too much)

really happy for you Eric! question though...did you guys really need to jump the fence in transition? that seems crazy! and Paula - i'm sorry to hear about your wetsuit. It's encouraging though to hear that even the pros make "rookie" mistakes! I loved watching the event live online...had no idea though about the hail/conditions on the bike though, or that you hurt your ankle during the race....still think you did fantastic on the run! Thanks to the both of you for continuing to share so honestly.

Great recap, and nice points about the media production. As someone new to the sport Id love to have more hype and cool video content and coverage of races, even on TV! It’s motivating me to watch elites like yourselves!

I'm going to have to start swimming more and call myself a triathlete just so I can wear the TTL stuff and not feel like a phony (sp?). LOL. Eric - I can appreciate the time commitment for all that you do (I finished watching Paula on Breakfast with Bob just before watching this video) and it'll be sad when one day you'll decide to stop. But until then... best 15-20 minutes of Sundays. As for the people who post bad comments, Eric and Paula I want you to think of one word . "trolls". It's probably some dude in the basement who knows nothing about triathlon (other than maybe watching on tv), or how hard training actually is. To quote "brene Brown", it's probably someone who's never been in the "arena" getting their ass handed to them. Had they been, they'd be more sympathetic. Ride on!

Was really a great Collins Cup to watch live in Samorin. I was quite surprised to see Paula so much behind in the swim, but the new wetsuit issue certainly explains it a bit. Was great to see her battle back into the race! The conditions during The Championship were harsh. Strong NW winds made the swim quite difficult. Not sure the Pros experienced the same as the amateurs haha. Recognized Eric on another lane on the highway but he was a bit too fast for me ;) At least we didn't have the severe rain, and thunder like on Saturday! The short chat during bike check-in with Eric was cool. Wasn't sure whether you would appreciate somebody interfering with you so kept it pretty short.

I was up at 4:00 a.m. in California to watch the Collins Cup coverage live. Other than time spent taking my Weim for a short run/walk (walk element because of coming back from a foot stress reaction; I know both of you can relate), I watched it all. I'm sure the PTO will be incorporating changes for next year based on how the inaugural event went, relative to media coverage and possibly tweaks to race format. But I still loved it. You mentioned a condensed TV broadcast. Looks like that's planned for mid-September on CBS, yes? I'm sorry to hear of Paula's ankle injury. Ugh. So unfortunate after weeks of rehab, but hopefully the Lever helps (and I'm also a proponent of pool running). It is cool seeing you work with Erin. I've been following her programs for about three years and had fun meeting with her at Rally Sport after I did Boulder 70.3 a couple of years ago. I'm sure she loves working with you two. My dog and I will be staying in Bend for a night in late September on the way back from a trip to Canada (Penticton may have been cancelled, but I still wanted to visit my motherland :) ). Maybe my dog will get some fun Flynn vibes.

If you want to leave Flynn in Bend with my boys, let me know. I'm headed to St. George solo and them staying behind would love to have a dog to help out

I do think the media coverage must have been expensive, but it was quite deceptive from a viewer perspective: there were too many races at a time, 1 cam only per race made it so that the viewers could not really see some interesting narative (only start, only arrivals, few "racing"). the only service offering a cool view was the tracker view. quite sad with such an investment... 'should be less races at a time, full narative per race (see america's cup !).

are you serious? they had 120 people on production and practiced on the course, and still missed bringing most of the action to viewers?? insane. can't believe the amount of stuff we found out that happened during the collins cup races, from the athletes' own social media the day after, rather than from anything that was actually broadcast during the event. they promised so much and delivered so little

The race coverage by PTO was good, but after watching the Superleague today... Man, it was next level !! PTO really needs to close the gap. And good luck to both of you in 70.3 Worlds !! Hope you'll have an amazing race
