Also, was the head coach for McDavid, Foegele, and Connor Brown on the Erie Otters. Took the team the year after McDavid left to the Memorial Cup almost winning it.
He certainly wasn’t a rookie but what Berube did with the Blues in 19 was quite remarkable. Worst in January to first overall. I’m rooting for the Knoblach and his Oilers. You guys gotta be proud up there! ✊🏽🇨🇦
Should’ve been nominated for the Jack Adam’s award. Came into the league as a rookie coach and has been absolutely incredible. These playoffs with his adjustments has only proven that further. What an amazing coach
@@kolebowyer3837 they gave it to the Canucks coach so he wouldn't cry. The one that deserved it is the Oiler coach. Brought the team from the bottom all the way to game 7
Go back and watch Kris Knoblauch’s first press conference when he was introduced as the new head coach. See how clearly nervous that man was. And see that same man leading a now incredible team to Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final in convincing fashion. Could not be more proud of this Golden Bear.
Sometimes you make choices and they pan out, sometimes they don't. Oilers pulled the lever, got all the bells and won the jackpot. Best coach they ever could have got, Zach Hyman possibly the best trade in NHL history. Ekholm, Perry, Henrique. Everything lined up perfectly and now we all get to watch history being made. Bring it home Monday Oilers!!
okay but gotta give credit where credit is due, those things didn't just "line up" magically. Ken Holland put together a great team and found a stellar coaching staff for it. the people behind the bench have and continue to play their cards right which is what has made it all line up.
Yup Zachary was such a good trade,I’m still upset about that, but love him and he SO SO SO deserves a cup, hard worker never stops and nice guy GO ZACHARY,BROWNIE ETC
Kris, The Stanley Cup Winning Coach, Will be named on Monday Night! Reverse Sweep Will Be Accomplished! LFG Oilers! I don't care if Paul Maurice believes in the term of "MOMENTUM", but I fk do! Keep It Up Oilers! WE WANT THE CUP! 🏆
Not only rookie coach 1 game from Cup, but he came in few weeks into season on a team in total turmoil! Truly amazing story that could not happen to a nicer guy!!! Ranger fan rooting hard for Oilers!!!
I'm 44 years old and been an oilers fan for 39 years! I've never in my life witnessed this level of drama and intensity in a playoff run. Go Oilers! get em in 7!
As a life-long Rangers fan, I am so proud of Kris. He was my choice to replace Gallant as Rangers head coach. Kris did a terrific job in filling in for Gallant last year when Gallant was sick. Solid Rangers minor league coach, too. He also was a coach of McDavid in World Juniors. Fabulous coach. Fabulous person.
he actually only coached McDavid on the Eerie Otters, which he left for a bit to play world Juniors but he wasn't his coach on that team. impressive guy nonetheless!
@@vanylla1433 Woody had fantastic systems, he designed this historically good power play. What Woody lacked was the ability to adjust when things aren't going well. Knobs has that in spades.
At first I thought he was the accountant-looking dude and I couldn’t see beyond that. Now I think of him as the even-keeled goat - he and Tocchet, of course. So much history being made here that my mind is spinning.
If one looks towards the 'Encyclopedia of Composure,' the front cover would showcase Mr. Kris Knoblauch & the entire 2023-2024 Edmonton Oiler family, surrounding him. Just think what an incredibly memoric photo that would/ can/ night be, historically speaking of course.
"You will never win a Stanley Cup with Skinner in net." I want Skinner to win on Monday so the haters can be proven wrong. That win will be eternal for the Oilers and our captain and Leon will finally get what they deserve ----> A Stanley Cup! Panthers can have it next year.
Well done, Kris! All the best to you and the Oilers in the next game!!! and next year, and the year after and ......!!! Oilers fan from Melbourne, Australia.
In his first year ever as a head coach this guy is going head-to-head and sometimes outcoaching someone who's been doing his job for nearly three decades.
@@WaterAndFire888 I think he meant some players would get moved around so the group as it stands won't exist entirety next season... I can't imagine him not coaching next year though
@@afridizzz no, he was talking about players leaving and that would be the reason why this is the last time coaching this group with these exact players
@@afridizzz @l.p.9729 I mean he is done after game 7 and there isn’t any word of him being resigned again next season so there is a chance he may not be our coach next year and this could be the last time he coaches our team 🙃🙃🙃 god please resign him ugggh
Coach of the YEAR! Shows you how crooked the NHL is under Bettman that Knoblauch was ignored. Imagine taking a 3-9 team tied for last in the league to game 7 in the SCF. Karma is going to give you STANLEY Kris!!
This playoffs has a documentary film crew doing a doc on it.... gonna be such an amazing doc. This team is special and this all means way more to real Canadians than any other people will understand. Hockey is way more than just a game
Part of the reason why the oilers came back from the brink of defeat is this man.....His demeanor and his positive attitude spreads to the rest of his guys is what is required to be a winning team. Way to go coach! 👋👋👋
I'm originally from Edmonton, the 780 baby! I'm a hugh Oilers fan. I'm well known for having dreams and visions that come exactly true as I see it. And the good news is I had a dream that the Oil were going to have a dynasty in which they will win the Stanley Cup in 2025, 2026, and in 2027. But then I also had another vision in which the Oil win the 2024 Stanley Cup but they never win another Cup ever again. Then I asked, why this was and saw a horror. It was a horrible plane crash of the Oilers team plane that somehow happened as a result of the Oil winning the Cup in 2024. It was the most ungodly horrors to ever happen in hockey. Honestly, I woke up very worried about our players. I do not want them to win on Monday night. The happy ending comes with patience. I love my Oilers too much to ever allow this to happen. Let's all pray for the safety of our players 🙏 We'll be getting our justice in the years to come.
“Probably got the numbers mixed up” has to be a top ten line 😂😂😂 Just an innocent bystander here, but that’s a hilarious way to not give up the real reason
Finally - welcome to the future of coaching. These are men, not kids, they don't need a coach to 'scream and yell' at them, or (see Ken Hitchcock or Mike Babcock) make them into a player they are not. These 'men' know what to do, they know if they are playing poorly or playing great. All they need is a system to play in, and then a bit of guidance , that's it. This is what I believe Kris does - and gee, it works, eh Torts?
The oilers WILL win the cup because they fight hard and dam well deserve it. They have come back many times and proved to everyone how collective team winning is done
At 0 - 2 I still sincerely thought they had a chance. The third game loss was really tough and I admit I did not even watch game 4 because I did not want to see the cup handed to Florida on Edmonton ice. Last two games the Oilers are amazing. It won’t be easy and I am sure the coach knows wat to say but I believe they can win game 7. Florida is in shock. In the last two games they cannot match the Oilers. It’s especially hopeful because they won game 6 without McDavid carrying them. The whole team is dialed in. That’s awesome to see.
That reporter who asked about ‘dead and gone’ it seems hasn’t watched the series. The scoreboard isn’t a good gauge of how close both teams are, save for game 4.
