So animal control and Florida law enforcement failed, again. This is one of the many reasons I have no regrets leaving the state. I guess that's what happens when state allows good ole boys to run the government.
Owners need to start being prosecuted for felony manslaughter just like felony murder when you don't have to commit crime. The owner knew his dogs were aggressive and didn't do anything about them.
They did so in our area. A constable was delivering court papers to the owners about their aggressive dogs and the dogs burst though the front door and attacked the constable in the front yard right in front of the owners. The constable managed to shoot the dogs but died from his injuries and the owners were charged with manslaughter. This is how it should be, I myself have been attacked by a pit bull that the owner knew was aggressive. I was just standing outside when the dog just bolted out the door and came at me. I was the 3rd or 4th person that dog had attacked. There was zero excuse why that dog was still breathing, so irresponsible.
I fully agree. People like this are the reason 'bully breeds' have a bad name. These dogs require LOTS of attention and training. Anyone not willing to put in the work it takes to teach them should not own them. Mine is 6 years old and is absolutely a wonderful dog. This is entirely the responsibility of the owners.
Putting those dogs down isn’t enough. Hold that man accountable! That’s a life. That woman did not deserve to go out like that. All those complaints, animal control should have been stepped in. You don’t wait until something tragic/ fatal happens. My Condolences to her family.
The law needs to be tougher when it comes to situations like this and also when animal cruelty is involved. They killed the dog when instead they need to kill the owner. Dogs are not born vicious, they do not want to kill people unless taught to do so. They do not know any better but the owner sure does. The owners are responsible for their dogs behavior. it's not fair that the dog gets put down because of the stupidity of the owner.

The dog owner, animal control, and any police responders who failed to remove a known danger to the community should be held accountable. This was a tragedy waiting to happen and grounds for a major wrongful death suit. Condolences to the mail carrier's family.

As a Postal worker, I know that whenever people won’t put their dogs up, their mail will not be delivered to them. They will have to go to the post office to pick up their mail. People get so mad whenever this happens to them. If you want your mail delivered simply put the dog into the house until the mailman is finished on your street. And this is exactly why the post office doesn’t want the carriers to have to interact with someone’s dog. People always say “ my dog would never bite anyone, he plays with my kids all the time “. That maybe true until it’s not true, when the dog will attack someone that he doesn’t know. Dog owners need to be more responsible.

It was touching to hear that young man sad that he wasn't going to see her deliver his mail anymore. Many postal carriers have had their routes long enough to see full generations of families flow through the neighborhood. They truly love and have friendships with the people on their routes. Neighborhood folk LOVE their carriers and it is so sad for everyone when a tragedy like this happens.

I work in the emergency room - virtually all of our dog vs human situations are of either pitbull/mix or rottweiler/mix breeds. It really should speak for itself at this point. It doesn't matter what social class, what neighborhood, what region, what climate, what state these two breeds are raised in, the dominance of fact that they are the absolute leaders in attacks is overwhelming.

The dog owners should be charged with murder. They've had numerous warnings, by neighbors & animal control. They were fully aware of the danger their dogs posed, yet they took no action to insure public safety. The mail carrier's family will have to sue, and the homeowner's policy will pay - if there is one. Judging from the condition/age of this trailer I'm doubtful they have insurance on it. This is such a preventable tragedy.
@@Sammy-mp9xn He will be locked up. But the investigation takes some time. The sheriff department is waiting with the arrest until they feel comfortable that they have the right evidence that will held up in criminal court.
Any pet dog that kills a person is by default, a lethal weapon. The owners of that lethal weapon are liable for the control of it, and that dog is a defacto extension of the owner. An attack on a federal employee with a lethal weapon, that results in injury or death is at minimum, a federal class c felony punishable by 10 to 25 years in federal prison.
These people who have dogs that are deemed dangerous should be held liable and responsible for a dog attack whether it leads to injury, death or not! This was absolutely avoidable. Every agency that was notified prior to these animals running loose and terrorizing the community that did much of nothing to enforce the law should be sued. My condolences to this family on their heartache! So so sad this is!
I admire and respect postal workers. Americans don't realize how important our quality mail services are. they should see how post offices work in third world countries like the republic of the philippines or mexico.
@@greg1629 They give us dog spray. The problem is that it will not stop any dog that has already decided to attack. It only helps change their minds if they are thinking about it. A pack of dog is a whole different thing than one dog. They egg each other on.
This is why people that live like this need to have a post office box they should have to go pick they’re mail up living that far out. This is horrible this lady tried to do her job to earn a living and this happens all due to the owners negligence
I will never forget how my son and I rescued a Mail Carrier from a pitbull attack. She was running for her life but we put her in our car. We were all blessed. I am sooo sorry this lady had to die over someone else's neglect 😢
I was a mail carrier for 15 yrs. I was attacked by a pit bull on my route. I survived being bite in the head several times. My hand is still jacked up. My condolences to the family 🙏🏽🙏🏽

I had a paper route for about 4 years and I was always running from somebody's dog. I look back on those days and realize I could have easily been mauled and or killed. R.I.P. and thank you for your service Ms. Pam.

Me too. Carried mail for over 31 years and now retired. post office doesn't care. They are a slave to Amazon. It's all about the packages now. You'd be shocked how much mail is left behind each day. I was worried about being killed by dogs many times. Often the dogs that are the most aggressive have the worst and most irresponsible owners. And it's kind of just left up to the carriers to figure out how to deal with it.

Yes, I was a mail carrier and being attacked by a dog or in her case dogs, is terrifying. I will say the one time I was attacked by a Shepherd and had to go to the emergency room afterward I went into shock pretty quickly and my brain kind of checked out of the situation so that was helpful. Terrible. Post off and owners should both be sued.

I have been attacked by pets several times. I have zero sympathy for dogs owners that do not control their animals. I do not see how these ignorant people think having a bad fence clears them from criminal charges. If they can dig under or jump over, then don{t have the darn animals. Sadly, every year we will have a new batch or elderly people and children that will be disfigured or killed by the dog owners. Yes, I wrote 'killed by dog owners' on purpose because for all we know, the dogs could be playing or defending their territory, or attacking out of fear. Hence, I cannot place guilt on an animal that has no understanding of civility or moral codes.
Back when I was a kid, people would let their dogs out (completely unattended) just as the elementary school kids were walking to school. My mom didn't believe me until she drove me once and I showed her an unattended dobberman pincer just wandering around. As an adult, I have no sympathy for the owners. People have a right to walk safely through a neighborhood. The owners should be convicted for manslaughter and they should lose everything in a civil suit.
I have dogs that are dog agressive (not human agressive) and I make damn sure my dogs don't get out. If you can't control your animals you shouldn't have them.

I was once was accidentally bit by my dog while i was playing with him. He meant to bite his toy but he bit my finger instead and that was some of the worst pain I've ever felt.

I'm sure the dog bites were the least of her worries when she had her throat ripped out by one of them. They had her limb from limb. I mean they ripped her to shreds but she actually died because her throat was gone.

Those dogs (and any additional dogs owned by this guy) should of been put down yesterday. And he needs jail time. Attack dogs are weapons they aren't babies. Goes for all K9s(Bulldogs, Pitbull's, etc.). Anything with enough bite force to cause damage should be treated and categorized as such.
I have a 150 pound kangal. They are the actual dogs with the strongest bite. He is a gentle giant. Goes to festivals and retirement homes and schools as a therapy dog. Even though he's the sweetest dog, i have 7 foot fences and he has never been allowed to get out. Territorial aggression in any and every breed is not to be trifled with. It's their instinct.

My heart goes out to this woman and her family. I used to walk my little dog in our neighborhood and passed the same house each time that had a little dog who barked at us. One Sunday morning we passed by when I heard a door slam and turned to see a Rottweiler running towards us from that house. I picked up my dog and started screaming, holding my dog as tight as I could but the Rottweiler was so strong that she came behind me and pulled him out of my arms by his tail mauling him to death . The owner came running and got her in a neck lock but it was too late. They had just adopted that dog two days before. That was seven years ago and I am still traumatized by it. It is a horrible thing to have happen. My prayers to her and her family.
I'm sorry you had to experience such trauma. I'm always afraid the neighbor's pitbull will try to get my dog, but I'm prepared. We don't put up with loose dogs here at all.
@@Sammy-mp9xn I don’t have a dog now but I carry bear mace when my grandkids want to go walking. I wore it into the Starbucks by my house and the barista recognized it and said he also carries bear mace for protection when he walks. You just never know.

I can only imagine the fear and terror this precious lady must have felt before & during the attack. If I was her immediate family member I would not hold back from suing the Holy Hell out of everyone and every agency department which apparently ignored or did not take very serious the pleas for help from the community about this situation. My most heartfelt sympathy and condolences to her family & friends at this horrific event... And Total Horror is what this HAD to be for this precious woman. I am not a person who " looks " for the chance to sue someone but THIS is a very serious matter, a woman has died because of ignorance and lack of concern. All the money in the world will not erase this moment or pain but it's obvious quite a few SUPPOSEDLY adult minded people need to be taught a lesson from this.

I hate it when I ask people to put their dogs away and they get all offended. One time I asked an owner to put his dog away and he said to me, let me release my dog at you and I will prove to you that he won’t bite. The dog was like 5 ft tall. I know people get mad, but.... Bull dogs, rottweilers, and the such should be required to have insurance. That way, irresponsible pet owners would be weeded out . Some dog breeds are more dangerous than others and the owners should be required to carry insurance on their pet in case they hurt someone.
It's not about breeds...it's about poor breeding practices or mutts. If everyone had a professionally bred dog from generations and good genetics dog attacks wouldn't happen. These dogs were mixes and mixes have no breed.

I used to work at the post office as a mail carrier. My first day on the job, my co worker was attacked by a dog while on route. They called me in to finish it for her. The amount of blood I saw on the mail was insane. She ended up losing feeling in one of her fingers and had deep lacerations on other parts of her body. She had PTSD when she returned about 6 months later. As for me, I've had a few run ins with dogs myself on route. Thank God I was always fast enough to get away. I was a dog lover, but that job made me despise them now.
I used to read gas meters lucky for me I could use binoculars and read the meter from a distance. Also the company I worked for if the property owner was a problem over meter access they would be warned and could loose gas service.

This is why I tell my mother when she goes on her daily walks - to not have mercy on any dog if it threatens her safety: carry pepper spray and if that doesn't work; go for the kill, always.
@@junebradford2964 They are pitbulls - you only need eyes to identify them. Doesn't matter if they are mutts - if they are only a fraction pitbull, they are unpredictable and dangerous. Pitbull owners are usually allergic to spay and neuter so every mutt at the pound is part pitbull.

When you dog owners tell us mail carriers "they don't bite or my babies are harmless or they just sound tough but are really sweet babies" think about this story and respect that we won't get out or deliver your parcel if we feel unsafe.
We have a relative who knew of this guy. They say his neighbors were always complaining about his dogs and that he used his dogs to intentionally cause his neighbors to fear him. He had and unkept yard that the neighbors complained about and he let his dogs roam the neighborhood whenever they did. He did it to keep them in fear and to stop them from complaining.
I’m a letter carrier. People need to put their dogs up! We have family too!! We like to come home safe like you guys!!! It’s a privilege to get mail at your house.
Its a federal service we pay for, not a privilege. My partner is a clerk at our local post office. People definitely need to chain up their dogs better, and this dog owner should be charged with involuntary manslaughter.

So sad - When will things like this stop. My boyfriend's 7 year old cousin lost his life to a pack of pit bulls. The boy was in his own back yard and the dogs dug under the fence and attacked the child. The dogs lived door. May she rest in peace. My condolences to her family.
Things like this will never stop because of dog people, and the fact that they are not capable of comprehending that these are unpredictable animals. Attacks happen all the time, more by specific breeds, but all are capable. Yet nobody can stand up to them, I've put in complaints with several different places, and nothing is done. Aside from cleanliness, they could bite or kill a person and even worse a child. Dog people are the problem, and thinking they should bring them everywhere.

@@cliffordnutting1470 Not true IF the neighbors have documented the complaints with photos and videos. We had one of these situations in our neighborhood. We had to work for it but we got the dog removed and destroyed. Then we helped our county get rid of the worthless bum heading animal control. LoL
@@cliffordnutting1470 Wrong. If the dogs get out, animal control can do something. If the dogs on private property and barking excessively, or creating a public nuisance animal control can do something.
I was walking in Lake Of The Ozarks (Missouri) and a pitbull that was unleashed in someones yard that was NOT fenced started running towards me. I got ontop of a car. The owner came out and took the dog in. The only reason I didn't get the dog taken away is because I had no cellphone signal while my stay there and no house phone.
