I'm surprised that the house lies in ruin while the gardens are preserved. Does anyone know why the house is in ruin~(I suppose I could look it up, 😂, but I'm getting over the flu and I'm lazy, exhausted) TY to anyone who answers.

That's a very good point, well done for spotting. Witley Court has a bit of a sad story, as most of the house was destroyed by a devastating fire in 1937. You can find out more here: goo.gl/DWgnm1
