Hey mamas (and soon-to-be mamas!) Let's face it, childbirth is incredible, but let's not sugarcoat what happens afterwards! Your body goes through some amazing (and sometimes uncomfortable) changes. That's why I'm here today to spill the tea (or should I say, depends on the product? ) on all the postpartum essentials every first-time mom NEEDS to have in their cart! We're talking all things pads, adult diapers (don't worry, it's normal!), the peri bottle (your new BFF!), healing sprays, and everything in between. Because let's be honest, knowledge is power, especially when it comes to feeling prepared for those first few weeks with your newborn.
So grab a snack, buckle up, and get ready for a fun, informative, and totally honest look at what you REALLY need to stock up on for postpartum recovery. Plus, I'm sharing some tips and tricks to make this whole experience a little smoother (and maybe a little more comfortable!).
Here's what you can expect in this video:
The must-have postpartum products you never knew you needed (but seriously will thank me for later!)
Honest reviews on all things pads, sprays, witch hazel (oh my!), and adult diapers (because leaking happens, and it's okay!)
Tips and tricks for using these products to maximize comfort and healing
Open and real discussion about postpartum recovery - because you're not alone!
Whether you're a first-time mama or just curious about what to expect, this video is for YOU! Let's break the stigma around postpartum recovery and get real about what our bodies need after childbirth.

congrats mama! boy or girl? I'm 28 weeks pregnant with my first and only baby girl, because this is my last. I just signed the paperwork last week to get my tubes tied. Any way's I am high risk too for postpartum. Any advice on that?

We’re actually waiting to find out!! Congratulations 💛 there is something so special about the connection between a mama and her daughter, I wish you both all the best :) as far as postpartum, one of the things we’ve done is we have the signs and symptoms printed out and on the fridge, and I’ve gone over these with my loved ones as well. See here: www.postpartumdepression.org/postpartum-depression/signs/ If breastfeeding is possible, many studies say it lowers the risk as well quite a bit (but also if you can’t there’s no shame in that either- a fed baby is a happy baby either way). The biggest and most cheesy feeling one is I repeat mantras to myself throughout the day: think, “I am such a good mom”, “I am proud of myself”, “this baby already knows and loves me, and I know and love them”. Basically I’m surrounding myself with that positivity and letting these thoughts take root, and truly letting myself start to believe them. If and when the hormone drop does start to affect you after birth, go back to those mantras, know it’s okay to feel those feelings, but know that you also don’t have to identify with them! You can always tell yourself things like, “right now I feel _, but this feeling won’t last forever.” The truth of the matter is you are so strong and resilient and you will make it through- even if it doesn’t feel like it in the moment! I would look into your local area as well and find if there are any postpartum support groups (many hospitals have them too)! There’s no shame and community always helps! But as a little add on, if you do notice the symptoms and they are impairing your functioning or feel to heavy to carry alone, seeking help is a really brave and completely valid thing to do. More women experience this and get help for it than we may ever know! I will always stand by that being a mama is full of incredible sacrifices, but your mental health and well being doesn’t have to be one of them. Sending lots of love and well wishes for both you and your sweet little one 💛
