I always tell people that I didn’t get married to have children. I had children because I got married. I love my husband and my children are a product of that love. My husband and I have been married for 18 years and we are still honeymooning. We put each other first. We take care of the children but they need to see us taking care of each other so they will know how to be when they get married.

@@s.m6605 hmm we don't marry because of feelings and love. Its beyond that. Feelings will always change base on circumstances and love can disappear based on all sort of reasons. Love is something that has to be worked on continuously. Even if one person falls out of love the love of the other person needs to keep the fire going till the other person gets back on track. A lot of people who are still married are not married because they are fully still in love. Marriage is something you keep working at and keep believing in it for it to work. Hmmm I usually do not comment about things but your message caught my eyes and I felt to reply. If you are not divorcing because of cheating or abuse then please try again. Unless you are planning to stay single you will realised that when you decided to re-marry again you will not find 100 percent or desire from that person also. Also don't marry and expect the other person to love you. You have to love yourself 100 percent. If the person you are married to, decides to show you love out of what he does then fine. The only person who will ever love us always and unconditionally is God our creator. You don't have to stay but I taught I give my input as I said I never comment on thing like this but yours caught my attention. Be happy in yourself and dont wait or depend on anyone to make you happy and feel love because you will be disappointed if you waiting on someone to show you love and fulfill all your expectations. YES, SINGLE MOTHERS especially those that have more than one child. Not easy at all. As she gets older it should get easier and she will get into a routine. I wish you three ALL THE BEST AND MANY BLESSINGS.
@@TheColeLife how to get her to sleep through 9pm until midnight. Once breastfeeding is well established you can pump and introduce bottles. You can snuggle with a blanket of hers or give her a shirt or article of clothing that you have worn. Having your scent near her will help her self settle. She may still be awake during that time, but can remain calm and relaxed in her bed. I noticed she takes a pacifier, resist the urge to hold her to sleep especially if she is sleepy. Otherwise you are training her to be awake and active during that quiet time. She can learn to be relaxed and awake in her space. Noticed how she went back to sleep with her pacifier? You're doing an awesome job! Keep doing the great job you're doing! I am a mother of 7 and grandmother of 3.
You are right to get her to sleep just feed her and put her on his bed and dim the light and let her to fall asleep by her own of course if she's not crying and use a bottle at nighttime and breastfeed her during the days
At night, if she’s content (fed, not crying, and dry), it’s ok to sleep. I used to stay up with my daughter watching her stare at the ceiling until my mom told me if she’s not crying and content it’s ok to close your eyes and sleep. Mind was blown. Took a little for me to finally take that advice as a new mom because you want to make sure she’s ok and nothing is wrong. At some point with no sleep and my daughter just up looking around, I had to finally close my eyes. Eventually, she started sleeping through the night (most of the night, breastfeeding only a few times, but right back to sleep) around 12 weeks.
She’s beautiful! You guys are doing an amazing job! My daughter wouldn’t go to sleep until midnight at first too, so as the others suggested, we would start giving her baths earlier and earlier each night. The baths were as soothing and relaxing as possible. The sounds of the water seemed to calm her. After the bath, we turned off the lights and gave her a little massage as we lotioned her up. Then we swaddled her and breast fed while listening to rain sounds on a white noise app. It worked! She would be knocked out. Then we put her in her crib. Sometimes we’d leave the rain sound on all night. Just remember like keep everything quiet and calm like 30min-1 hour before bed time. No TV or phones. Just quiet and lights out. Eventually my little girl adapted to that and started going to sleep at 9pm and finally we got her in bed by 7. And till this day at age 4 she goes to bed at 7pm. And mom and dad have alone time.🙌🏾
Of course you both will develop your own routine and figure out the best the family. Don’t compare yourself to others and don’t feel bad because your baby is not like other babies. This is just one way. I agree with rise up warrior. If you would like, Set up a nighttime routine. Babies can learn the routine even at that young age. We are so smart. Brains like Sponges. Nice bath, lotion lavender scented light (if not allergic) massage, put on jammies, and soothing sounds. Yup no loud jarring sounds like a TV. Feed her and she can go right to sleep. Consistency is important. Now my daughter is 8 years old. The time will fly by and she will be walking soon. Engross yourself in the moment. It goes soooo fast. At 3 months my little one slept for 6 hours at night. As their tummies get bigger and hold more food, They sleep longer. It gets easier. Best wishes on the journey of parenthood.:)

I am shock that she is almost four weeks and she is trying to almost turn over. She is extremely alert, reading and the moving around it’s great stimulation for her. Blessings guys!

My daughter I kept her up during the day gave her a bath and feed her a bottle to let her know the difference other then that she will drift on her own you have to make her wake so you can get sleep

This reminds me so much of what we went through as new parents. One of the many things that helped us was, your baby has live inside of you for almost ten months so don’t rush to have the child sleep away from you as soon as he/she is born. That helped us soooo much because once we understood the need for our children to be with us, it was a game changer for our sleep routine. Btw, you both are a great team!
She’s beautiful. I kinda remember being so tired with a newborn, however, what I know is it’s going to fly by. Enjoy every minute because you turn around and she’s 25.

As a mum of 4 my only advice for u will be to put her down when she falls asleep otherwise she will get used to being held all the time n when that happens oh God, it causes some much stress. U guys r doing amazing job n remember every mum n supportive dads have been through this n you will find it much easier with ur 2nd child cos of the experience u are getting now.

Delia Higgs I second that, late night bath followed with a feeding, and put her in a swaddle. The swaddle stops her from waking herself up at night because babies have the startle reflex till about six months of sage. that might get her to sleep longer. Also having her sleep in a dark room with white noise machine might do the trick as well, no bright lights.

I so glad God picked out my husband just for me because when I had my son it was hard so I thanks God every day as I watch him growing up looking back by hearing you guys he never sleep at night I was so frustrated but thank God my husband was there all the way with me, am praying for you both God be with you both
The Baby kinda sleeps whenever she wants because she's still getting use to night & day from being into the world! It takes time for all of you to get use to it! She's adorable! Keeping her active doing the day doesn't really do anything because when she was in the belly she was probably up most the time, so that's what she's already use! Lol! As a single mom I had to learn too, but eventually it happens, but I'd give it about another month, but she starts to realize that, she can sleep @ 9:30 or whatever time you all try to put her to bed, but my biggest advice to you both would be to either lay down with her and pretend to sleep at whatever time you all want her to go to bed because if she sees the two of you up then she's gonna want to stay awake too because @ that age "All babies feel as if their going to be missing something if they fall asleep", so we as parents kinda have to teach them by example! "It's not go to work all the time or everytime, but it eventually starts to happen! Love the new video and I hope that helps! Congratulations! You've got this. She is lucky to have two parents who have their heads screwed right. So far you are doing everything right. Do not stress, you do not have to be perfect and she does not need to be perfect. Helping each other is the key. That is how my husband and I coped without family support as we are immigrants. We had to be there for each other. BTW, that is my favorite book I read to my kids. Also you Dad joke was lame but I loved it. You both seem like great parents, keep it up. She is beloved and that is the most important thing.

I don't have any advice for getting them to go to sleep early. Most of my children did the same thing sweet Aza does. Midnight seemed to be the magic time for deciding to fall asleep. 😃 I do promise it will get better! And yes, being a single mother is super hard!! We don't know how we do it either most days. Blessings to your family as you adjust to being parents. It's hard but oh so worth it!

I love the relationship between you two because it is on purpose. I love the way you both communicate your needs to one another. I was that single mother of 5 left to do it all solo.. I was that stubborn preacher's daughter who was going against the teachings my father and the Church. Boy did I pay dearly for doing a common law marriage. After getting legally married and divorced, 41 years later it all worked out for my good. One advice I would give for baby Ava is to keep her up longer, sleep when she does, and capture every moment because it goes by so fast. I remember thinking the same thing. “How do ladies do this alone?!” We lived on the third floor of our apt When we brought Logan home and au wasn’t even allowed to pick up the car seat! How is someone sapposed to do that if they don’t have help!? I remember crying because I was so sad for single mothers a whole new perspective.

As a mother of 3, I wanna say you two are doing a great job of finding a balance with your lil one. Just keep the routine at night so she gets used to sleep after reading, wash up with lavender, feeding and lights low, soothing sounds
I'm a single mom of twins and a boy and yeah not easy but I do what I have to anyway because God's been my only rock to lean on. I'm nothing without Jesus. Plus I had a c section felt sometimes I was ripping open again plus it was up and down to hospital because they were prem babies BUT GOD is a healer and I believed... Amen! Just have patience it'll get better. Don't stress about it cause they can also feel that.
Swaddling is very important.Soft lighting and soft music works.Pacifiers are a life saver.They are not always hungry ,but just have strong suckling reflexes .

I absolutely love you two!! Thanks for giving us single mother's some praise, but I have been blessed with the love and support from my family. I also had PPD it is not easy but it gets better, as your daughter gets older it gets a little bit easier & you start to get your own routine, but enjoy every minute of your daughter's first year my brother told me when my son was born that the days may seem long with your child but the years are short. It is so true my son is 9 now & when I look back at all of his pictures & videos I always say to myself..... where did the time go!!❤

I was so near DEATH as a single mother. I also bleed too much when I tore and fainted trying to get up in the hospital so I had to stay for two days. My sisters and mom then stayed with me for two days and then I was on my own. There were plenty of tears, restless nights, and even days where I would be talking to my mom on the phone and not even making any sense because I was so exhausted. Those were some tough years. This period where you took care of Aza on your own was good for you I’m sure. So many men don’t really connect with their children because they did not have to go through this. This was actually one of the best gifts you could get and probably why you are so close to Aza and able to care for her on your own now that she’s older.
This child is adorable! As I view this video, I can see that you both are going to be great parents. Simply take your time and continue doing what you're doing. May God continue to bless this lovely family.

Omg you all are sooo great at this!!!if it gets soo bad and one of you is not too tired,you can let the other take a nap.It helped me a lot coz one gets to rest and does more after they are rested.Just sharing my 2 cents
