even though you technically explained what it is, i think you should clarify what you mean when you say plink. i doubt a player who doesn't understand hitstop will have heard the term. otherwise, really great video.
That's an excellent point! I was going to include infocards with all the term definitions but that's only available to RU-vid partners. So I put all the fighting game term definitions in the description (including plink) in the description instead. Hopefully it works out this way.
Even though you technically explained your advice well, I think you should clarify what you mean when you say plink. I doubt a player like me that still doesn’t know what they are would see this comment and know what they are yet
Normally i don't watch tutorials but man you take the cake. I never thought that you could make something interesting without using your voice but this was great!
I'm glad this video popped up in ny feed despite being two years old. It's exactly what I needed as a new Pot main. Doing kara cancels after hit stop was messing with me, and now I have an idea of what to do about that.
Still learning and I don't want to play Potemkin outside of matches with friends. But that site with the gaming terminology is a godsend. Thank you so much, the Pot might end up becoming a pocket pick for me once I get this down.
You can't do a kara cancel when performing a fast roman cancel (or roman cancel cancel) but you actually might be able to kara cancel > drift RC I'll take a look into that
I'm really new to fighting games so I had to look up a bunch of the terms in here (thanks for that fighting game glossary link, I didn't know something like that existed!) and the one thing I'm still confused about is all the numbers. Do those refer to specific directional inputs or what?
Yeah it's called number notation. Basically each number refers to a direction on a joy stick. Here's an example 789 456 123 So 214 is a quarter back circle, 236 is a quarter forward circle etc. This kind of notation is used cause it's pretty universal when it comes to 2d fighters. Took me a bit to be able to read it quickly but once you see it a lot you get the gist of it.
@@narudleinad8760 oh ok, that makes sense, it's just laid out like a numpad. I was confused because I've seen people refer to a move as like "5S" or "FS" interchangeably, and I guess it's Far Slash, not Forward Slash like I was thinking, since 5 is neutral input. (I guess smash bros terminology is messing with me lol)
@@burnin8able yeah same here. 5S can also be Close slash which is written like "c.S" I used to think it was crouch slash until I saw a couple videos that explained it. Smash was my main fighting game for a while so it took me a lil bit to kinda seperate the terminologies lol
BTW the glossary was recently created and it's really useful, try to have it as a bookmark or something like that, it will come in handy, there are some weird terms like "Mexican uppercut"
I’m playing on controller and I can’t get this input. Ive tried for about 30 minutes and I’ve had no luck. I think I’m not pressing the button fast enough after I do the forward kick. I don’t know what to try
why doesnt my karabackmegafist connect after combostrings. i input it perfectly in neutral but right when i try to incorporate it into a combo it will not come out at all. im so frustrated ive been trying for so long. a karabackmegafist will not come out after a 5K
At 1:25 in the video, I explain why it is significantly harder to do a kara Back Mega Fist in a combo compared to neutral. Basically, it requires very strict timing. I also demonstrate the two ways to input it so you can experiment to find what works for you. At the end of the day, it takes a lot of practice so keep trying and it'll come together with time.
Since I play on keyboard. I have the kara cancel down for Heavy Slash specials since it's like doing a quater circle. But I have trouble with inputs that require Punch, is there a way to help with that?
I can't believe it took me 2 years to find out about this technique, bro. I'm so angry. Anyway, I must ask. Why do ppl do HFB before the wall break? I thought it was just in case the wall splat didn't kick in, but it seems like it's actually something else.
I made the thumbnail myself! I don't know if there's a way to send you a download through RU-vid so it might be best to go to one of those thumbnail ripping sites.
I thought kara pot buster was like, strive's version of the special move So this was very helpful! I was wondering why everyone else's PB range seemed so much bigger than mine
You got yourself a sub man,i dont even play potemkin anymore ,its too hard to play with a controller, but i enjoyed this video nonetheless, any ky or nago vids soon ?
I am fairly familiar with plinking and hitstop! However! I wasn't sure if I was doing the Kara correctly now that I took the time to view this video I completely understand the timing and know exactly when I know I kara cancelled the move! Great video dude!
There's a lot of overlap between kara Giganter and kara Garuda kara Giganter: 632146K~H kara Garuda: 2146K~H The important thing to note here is that you should never hit forward before trying a kGaruda or else you'll get kGiganter
This so hard man, i cant do it consistently on battle but people seem to be doing it easily. I reached vip without executing this move and now im paying the price. Why is it so hard to be pot man, whyyyy?
Okay, but how does one plink on gamepad? I can get it mildly consistent (like 40-50%) by using the joint of my thumb to hit X and then the thumbprint to hit square. But is there a better method?
It's very difficult on pad The way you're doing it is as good as it gets without rebinds Personally, I remap my K to a shoulder button so I can kara any attack with more consistency but that's totally personal preference
