Most doctors do not manage a patient they manage the symptoms by prescription and no very little about nutrition or holistic treatment. In my experience.
@@iamdrludmilla Polypharmacy/Prescription cascading... sadly.. and they don't realize that morphine withdrawals and heart failure has the exact same symptoms.. so they are drugging elders with morphine then stating its heart failure smh
I was on statin in 2014 for about 10 months I went cold turkey. Its was my decision because more medicine is only band aid not prevention. I choose alternative options for my own health and with less side effects, not even every day meds that we buy at drug stores. I saw my mother and other family members going that route, it’s not what I want for my life. Our bodies make cholesterol and our brain needs it to function better. To say all that, we’re what we eat therefore eating healthy is very important. I make my meals daily from scratch, my health is very important so I try and treat it that way. I’m 75 years old, my mom at 72 years couldn’t do half of what I accomplished in a day. I say our health is important it’s our wealth.
@@andryiad9467 I’m sorry just getting back to you. Each morning on empty stomach I take 1-2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil. I do only have two meals daily. Very limited snacks only, to get my daily intake of what my body needs, I payed attention to what I’m buying. My first meal is my biggest, that always depends on how hungry I’m. My pantry has Teff,Amaranth,Quinoa, Mellet and Old fashioned Oat I like steel cut also some rice. I ❤️ my cheese but I mostly prefer goat’s and sheep’s cheese because it’s better my guts a small portion of cow is ok. I like kefir also goat’s some cow, kefir is good when having some granola with berries and apples. Hemp and flex seeds for my smoothie and porridge. I used a lot of mushrooms also dark leafy green, cabbage mixed of green some more other, onions, garlic, ginger and turmeric all fresh. Only I used are coconut, olives oils must be extra virgin olive & coconut oil’s. all my fish must be wild salmon, mackerel, fresh cod’s and tin tin sardines I can’t get enough them. Liver few times a month when I can find it at my health shops, beefsteak, ground beef, chicken and started eating bacon again and that’s my treat. I eats lot of eggs more than 2 dozen a month about 2-3 a day not every day it’s best protein for low income person. Here’s something I use is butter, my meats and dairy products are all grass fed and the rest are mostly organic. I enjoy my sweet potatoes and potatoes but sweet potato is first. The two nut I used is pistachios and Brazil nut, for eating Brazil nuts I have only two days it’s like taking meds too much is bad for the body. I make bone broth twice a month and freeze half for other meals. I do eat bread, and usually use almond butter for extra protein for my smoothies and cereal when I make them. How can I forget the good old avocados 🥑, I will put a piece into my smoothie with ginger and kale.🥬 Blessings always 🇨🇦🇨🇦
@@andryiad9467 I drink lemon balm , lemon grass and I use hibiscus tea for helping my blood pressure. I also try getting into leafy form instead of bags I founded them much stronger in quantity.
Great topic! I don’t like statins. My husband experienced side effects, elevated liver enzymes and high A1C. He had to take insulin for a short period of time. He was not diabetic but since then has be diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. As a nurse, I had challenges with his provider because he was refusing to stop the statin. Even wanted him to continue with the insulin after I got his blood sugar to manageable levels. Needless to say, I stopped the medicine and found another doctor to care for my husband. People need to know more about the side effects. Thank you! I’m loving these presentations. God bless.
Dr. Montgomery, I appreciate your honesty about the fact that drugs can be harmful to us. We know you care and please continue to share your thoughts with us!

I have eaten wfpb no oil no salt no sugar. I ate nuts and seeds...big mistake.. My tc has never been over 150. After dropping all overt fats it dropped to 115. My ldl remained 70 and has now gone up to 80. I have...despite all attempts to be as healthy as possible..W no cheating...yet I have still developed systemic atherosclerosis and have as shown by imaging. I am starting a low dose statin to reduce my ldl. I don't know what else to do.
@MontgomeryHeartWellness I'm not sure how a patient is supposed to approach their doctor about taking medications that don't have studies or haven't been researched for long-term affects on their healh.😔😔😔😒
Appreciate you. I have a ? That no dr seems to answer for me. I had an angiogram and no blockages found. Not on statins but have high cholesterol . 69 yrs old. Left bundle branch blockage. Why would i need a statin if i dont have blockages. Not on statin now. Thank you

Doc I’ve recently met two persons whose cholesterol was close to 300 for multiple years and while statin drugs did not help, they were still asked to stay on them? Each of them has expressed frustration and interest in dietary changes. Your thoughts?
I changed my eating habits to vegan. 8 months now I stopped taking blood pressure meds and cholesterol meds I was 150 to 160 over 90 to 95. Cholesterol was 240 last year This year, it was 278. I'm not concerned about the cholesterol. The Doctor even said make sure you're talking your meds He wasn't concerned about it Blood pressure was 140 /85 at the doctors office. It's coming down I need to make an appointment with your office I live in Houston
