Imagine how brutal Knuckles’ combat would be. He would tear apart the robots with his bare hands Kratos style. We need to see him shoot Master Emerald energy projectiles such as the Thunder arrow. Or temporarily trapping enemies in pseudo master emeralds like Tikal.

That would be sick! He definitely needs brutal combat animations, like the Arkham games.

Based on what we already know, it sounded like they're all going through different paths and might detach themselves from Sonic for a while. I really hope they do something and not have them show up again like if nothing. Not only would this give other characters the spotlight but being away from Sonic or usual roles can allow them to grow. Frontiers feels like a reset of the character regression of the 2010s while also adressing their shortcomings and I hope they continue this path.

Couldn’t agree more, very excited to see where they go next. I really hope we see a solo Knuckles and Tails game, or maybe a Knuckles game with Rouge playable as well since they have a similar move set. The future is looking good for multiple playable characters and solo adventures. I think thats why adventure worked so well, most characters were on their own path until the final story, having their own adventures and experiences. Thats all I everyone wanted for this franchise.

i think frontiers is shaping up to have the best story out of any Sonic game.

SA2, while the execution is obviously a bit outdated, is a masterpiece story with so much risk taking and creativity. It was so inspirational to me, SA1 as well. They both had this special feeling that from that point on was hard to replicate.

I feel this a good opportunity for sonic team to make character focused side games similar to how Mario is doing. Where the stakes aren’t crazy high but they give other characters spotlight.

Thats why I loved Sonic R. But I would definitely want to see another fighting game, although I think I’d want a Mortal Kombat like story mode for that.

@@soniccreations yeah I feel it’s been way to long without a sonic fighting game. Plus with frontiers giving them new attacks it would not be an issue. Personally I would like another riders game all stars racing is fine, but hoverboards are cooler and I want my Babylon rouges.

Yeah pretty much everyone wants the Riders series back, it really had such a beautiful aesthetic and concept. The games were just so much fun and very unique. I’d say if they want it to actually compete with Mario Kart then they need good marketing, change up the gameplay a bit and bring in what people loved about the all stars racing games, make some DLC Sonic and Sega characters and I think it would be really successful.

This might sound a bit crazy, but I am convinced that the reason Sonic Team set up everybody going their separate ways for a while is so they can have potential standalone games about Tails, Knuckles and Amy. That just makes sense to me in me head.

This is what I’m hoping is the case. I think at the very least, especially with the popularity of project 06, they know we want multiple playable characters. But stand alone games would be amazing to see!

I just hope they don't fumble the landing. Sonic Frontiers definitely paves the way for greater Sonic games, but it's very clear that some kinks need to be buffed out before taking on the mantle of standalones. That being said, a Watchdogs style stealth game with Tails would be so sick. Especially after seeing Tails as a detective in The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog. @@soniccreations

@clobo65 I think watch dogs style gameplay is a good fit for Tails. We also need a Team Chaotix game, with detective gameplay elements and an open world city. The potential is endless when it comes to the other characters getting more spotlight. There’s a way to do all of those different types of gameplay while keeping the core elements of what a Sonic game is.

@@soniccreations you make an exceptional point. Team Chaotix need some time in the spotlight, but I can't see Sonic Team doing that until they've wrapped up some more Sonic stuff. Seeing the new trailer for The Final Horizon convinces me that Sonic Adventure 3 is in the pipeline and after such an epic saga (which SA3 will surely deliver on) the possibilities of story telling and gameplay become so endless that I will be genuinely shocked if Sonic Team doesn't take that path eventually

@clobo65 Izuka keeps taking about it in interviews, that eventually soon he wants to do it, Frontiers definitely made enough money so there should be no problem of budget. Its either Frontiers 2 or SA3 in my opinion, or stand alone games first then everything else. Who knows really, its so hard to predict Sonic Team.

I know for a fact that this is going to be Shadow’s arc in the next Sonic game. Sonic: “Because I know…Somewhere deep down in her heart….Maria would still love you…” 😢 Shadow: “WAAAAAAAAHH” 😭

So “daughter” brings in the end. The end has her corrupted. And sonics new form just cleans her out basically and let’s her go in peace. Story wise it was expected

Probably Amy game play would be her hammer and fortune teller cards Tails game play a laser gun and flying sections and Knuckles climbing and gliding and smashing threw walls and digging probably Cyber Sonic or Ultra Sonic game play defeating the end and they all leaving the island and Sage being brought back
