I’ve followed your instructions closely and i’m having great success! The small details are very important. Finished the sophisticated-looking plant stand but the vase is really going to be sometime i’ll be proud of.

Just so you'll know, if you modpodge some tissue paper onto the vase first, you don't need as many coats of paint. Also, instead of spackle, you can use the DT caulk. It gives a little smoother texture. I like to water mine down and drip it down the sides of some projects.
Would've been much easier to water down the stain and put it and the clothespins in a bucket, swish it around, and voila, all clothespins coated with stain, instead of spending 3 minutes per pin with a brush!!
the mirror came out fabulous! i like yours better...i think that wood to mirror ratio is more attractive. If I made it with a larger mirror, I'd want to use much bigger pieces of wood than they did
My favorite one is the base and I already have everything at home that you used except for the spackling so I think I'm going to give this a shot cuz I have a big glass vase and I've been wanting to do something with it and I just couldn't figure it out and thank you Jesus I happened to watch yours and that's what I'm going to do pray for me

TIP: instead of all that work with the clothes pins, you could just cut a cardboard ‘wreath’ shape and glue it to the front of the mirror for attaching the wood petals. These are absolutely gorgeous projects!! ❤️
Niiiiice! Tuff to pick....but the vase technique i will be doing on wine bottles so I guess I must say that's my fave, but the mirror is lovely too! TSMFS!
You know even though when you were making that mirror and you said it was smaller that would look really cool like with three or six depend upon the size of the wall that you had that you could do a mirror display with mirrors like that in different sizes maybe even a variation in the color that would look really cool

I was thinking the same thing. I couldn't figure out what the purpose of the clothespins were, until she started putting the balsam wood down on them. I guess you could totally skip the clothespin part, but the depth would be different. I don't know how much difference that would make. Her mirror was fabulous! I want to make one, myself!
Your version of the earthen vase actually looks better than the original. I also really like what you did with the wood and the mirror. I love the idea of having a kind of wood you can cut with scissors and make look old and primitive with smile craft tools. I don't want a mirror-like that but there is plenty of primitive decor I could use that technique for.
I absolutely love your mirror but I'm a little confused about the construction. I thought at first that you were making two different mirrors because I've seen the clothespin ones before. For this mirror, are the clothespins supposed to just give it depth? Did you put the hanger on the back of one? Could you just put a block of wood on the back with the hanger and get the same effect? I think I might be missing something but I am amazed how funky high end balsa wood looks and I want to try it😀

I love the vase and the mirror, but the dupes are all great! I think if I were going to make the pot and stand I would take a craft knife and cut the trim off to disguise that it was a bucket more... But great diy's!! Tfs🌼🌺🍄🌻
Suggestion on the mirror...instead of all the fussing and gluing with clothespins, find or cut a circle 2 inches larger than the mirror and adhere the wood pieces to that. Much easier and better against a wall. Tape or cover the mirror when staining and applying the clear coat....less mess with clean up. Regarding the pot, I really would not suggest this one, it will likely not withstand the weight of plant and dirt. Also a hazard around children....just not very sturdy...
I really like your channel! Such a calming voice, not fake like many others. I agree with another comment that it’s nice to see dupes that we haven’t seen like the other channels over and over. This is unique. I liked your dupe better. Beautiful
what is chalk paint? I tried to see the container, but you just flashed it ......I hear all the time about "chalk" paint or am I not hearing that correctly? Sorry for ignorance.....
I completely agree. Her mirror looks much better. If you look at the right side of theirs, there are about 3 pieces put together. That makes it a straight line. Where it wasn't cut to the roundness of the mirror. Hers is so much better. And what a great price too!!!
To stain that many clothes pins, I would have put in a zip lock bag or container and added stain and shake those babies up. I liked the vase the best. The mirror was a runner up.
Can you spray a clear coat onto the vase when it is dried? I would think you would have to put something on it, so you can wash it, but I am not sure what you would use.
