I grow them on for an early start then plant them in larger planters with other annuals for the summer.

Thx for the video! I live in Vancouver, BC, do I need to dig the root balls out in winter?

They will survive the temperature there but they may get too wet over winter so I would dig them. If you grow several plants you could leave one or two in next winter just to see the result.👍

Hi, For winter ,I put lilies in the pot, put them in dark area in cover patio, it is always cool in the room, week later, I noticed all lilies pot has 12 inches leaves growing, what should I do? Give them water light?

Sorry for the delay but the key to keeping them dormant is being sure they are bone dry going into storage and not watered until spring. Cool temp is good and light is not needed.

How long does it take them to start to grow? We have ours ib our small green house 10x20 with heaters that keep the night time temp at 45. Daytime gets up to 80.

As long as the root/rhyzome is firm it will eventually grow. If the root is soft it may not have survived storage. They need heat to get growing for sure so try for a few more weeks and getting the pots on some bottom heat helps and nightime temperatures of 50 deg F may also help. 👍

When would you start to fertilize them once they are growing?

What about light when you first pot them up? I’m just north of Toronto. My cannas are in my garage in peat moss. I haven’t even checked them. If I bring them inside to be warm will they need light?
