In this video, Dr. Daniel Hikuroa tells a story - how the Maori of New Zealand shared geological knowledge. There are many ways of describing the earth and teaching its secrets.

So I think that I myself have actually watched this video around 42 times now. It brings me such peace and joy. I thank you so very much for making it and sharing it with us. My love of Pounamu began a number of years ago and the collection that I watch over is rather extensive. The power in this stone is far greater than any other stone I've ever known. Beautiful video, beautiful story. Thanks so much. Aroha!

I know I thanked you 7 months ago for this video but I just feel that I owe you another thanks. I watch this video at least once a week while I contemplate the power and treasured spirit of Pounamu. This video brings me so much peace and even though I can recite it from beginning to end, I find myself perpetually circling back to hear it again and again. Whenever my blood pressure begins to spike, I stop what I'm doing, grab an adze or hei tiki and meditate on the deep meaning of this precious taonga. I truly thank you for this gift from the bottom of my heart.

"Senior Lecturer in Māori Studies" And here I hoped there'd be a focus on geology, when talking about a rock. How foolish of me.
