This was my first coaster. I regret nothing except the vertical descent in the dark

I started crying first time I went on it is a lot scarier than it looks and then the second time I was laughing that I was crying before

The scary part when your going up feels like your going to fall

For those of you who are going to adventure world, terrified of rollercoasters and planning to go on the abyss this is for you. (Btw this was me and I went there for the first time when it was my 13th birthday). You see, I’m TERRIFIED of rollercoasters. I was horrified on a frozen boat ride at disneyworld, a powerpuff girls ride and a seven dwarves ride so WHAT ON EARTH made me think I could survive the abyss at adventure world? The first time I lined up for the ride, I lined up in the back seat because it’s less terrifying. It was a 10 minute wait. But when I got to the end of the line, I started panicking and I chickened out because there was noone but an 8 year old going with me. So I pretended like I totally went on the abyss to my dad and later confessed. The next time my dad went with me up the stairs and I started panicking in the line. I’m gonna be honest, I was more scared when I was waiting to ride than actually riding it myself. But later in the line I thought to myself, “Would you rather regret not going on this rollercoaster like the slinky dog ride at disneyworld?” So I sat on the seat and started literally SCREAMING. Heads up, the ride hadn’t even started yet. Keep in mind this was yesterday and I was literally 13 years old. So the rollercoaster person came to check if my belt thingy was tight and she asked me “what are you scared about?” I said “Everything, the huge drops, going upside down, literally EVERYTHING.” Then she said “ok”. Then I said “I really have to pee” (as an excuse to get off) And like she was reading my mind she said “Don’t worry, when you get to the drops just breathe in as hard as you can, hold your breath and close your eyes if you’re scared.” Then I let out a very scared “ok”. Next, she pressed the button and I started SCREAMING my lungs out. There was no turning back once she pressed that button. Then I realised, I’ve got a terrified 8 year old and an amazing dad next to me, ready to call the ambulance if I pass out. So then I finally calmed down. The ride went in a circle around the corner in a pitch black warehouse and when I least expected it, it dropped 10-12 meters down! I felt this weird feeling in my tummy when it was going down but it wasn’t too bad. Then the rollercoaster when in a twisting upside down thing and it was fine. Next we got outside of the warehouse into the light. That’s when I noticed the BIGGEST drop ahead of me. The 10m drop in the dark was bad enough, now there was one which was 25m down? HELL NAH. So I started having a literal panic attack. I was screaming “DADDY IT’S TOO HIGH! DADDY I CAN’T DO THIS! DADDYYYYYY IT’S TOO FAST!!!” Then the ride stopped for a few seconds and started to take us up 30m. This took around 6 seconds. I was screaming my lungs out when we were going up because all I could see was the sky since we were going straight vertically up. I was screaming “WHERE’S THE EMERGENCY BUTTON! WHERE!” And that’s when it happened. We shot down and I closed my eyelids so tight that blood could’ve came out. I didn’t scream bc I opened my mouth and no sound came out. Then we shot down and the feeling in my tummy was wild. But then the drop ended and we went upside down which wasn’t bad and all and the rest of the rollercoaster was smooth sailing because I could open my mouth and scream. But then the ride ended and apparently there was photos and I was soooo scared to see them. I was laughing sooo hard at this old lady who looked too terrified to even glance at the camera then I was like wait a minute...that’s....that’s ME. And then I went on the ride again after I collected myself and opened my eyes that time because I knew what to expect. But if you’re too scared to go on this ride at adventure world, I swear, call me and I will literally force you on this bc it’s so much fun, coming from someone who is TERRIFIED of ANYTHING. So pleaseeee go on this ride and don’t make yourself regret not going on the ride like I almost did. It gets scarier when you get to the front of the line but when the seatbelt person comes, just tell them what you’re scared of and they will reassure you. The rest of the ride will be soooo much fun. That was by far THE BEST rollercoaster I’ve ever been on. It was soooo much fun. Thank you adventure world!

Abyss is the best ride there

Last time i went on it I shut my eyes I regret that and get to go on it again ! Very excited but I’m scared but that won’t stop me again !

The bad thing is its makes it look bad when the lights are on 2 but i wanna see hwta it looks like when its not dark

It's so terrifying I did it 3 times today. I rate the abyss 10/10

Theming could have been better. Once it gets a little older they should give the ride more of a storyline. Like in a couple of years time once it needs a refresh, since it's still very new. I still think Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster is one of the best themed storyline rides in Australia.

When I first went on it it was really fun, the start got me a little, but when it got to the top of the30ft vertical, these teens started screaming and i thought something was wrong with the coaster, so I started screaming, it’s a lot of fun tho.

The first time I went on my I wasn’t wanting to but my dad convinced me went i was going up I was like why do you make me do this Then I went on 11 more times PS. Go in the back row in the front row your bangs on the sides and you get a headache at the end

Thats cool we have the same ride over here just outside London England at Thorpe Park we know this ride as The Saw Ride as in the movie Saw. Have a watch I atually love this ride..

i don’t remember anything after the drop besides the fact that it was a rollercoaster. i was so fucking scared.

This is the first roller coaster I went on that goes upside down

I was scared to death when I went on it

When I went on it was pitch black

I did it about 5 times yesturday

The first time I went on this I didn't scream at all because it was so much fun not scary

That ride is so fun there I went on it and I’m only 10 it was crazy and is was the besttt

Read this I was in the big hill when you about to drop I was in the backseat with two of my friends and what happened was I felt like I was going to fall if I go I was in the backvery scared that was my first time to adventure world

Kraken line is like 2 hours

A nice relaxing ride but over too quickly

It looks really shaky but in real life it’s not

this is the same as the drop on saw the ride

I swear this is just a complete clone of saw the ride, it’s like the new flamingo Land coaster and collosus there are very slight differences in like the angles and degrees but it’s basically a clone still

I live this ride but if that part had lights I wouldn’t go on it I like not knowing when it’s coming and if I did I would definitely scream my head off

Bro I went on this roller coaster today bc I read all the comments and in the tunnel thing there is like a 10 metres drop and it takes a picture of ur face. I went on it 3 times cuz I was forced ( gonna edit this comment tomorrow) I would recommend if ur scared then u close ur eyes

this is very slimier to Saw at Thorpe park London England yet saw is based of the film saw so is beater themed

Am I the on,y one who didn’t swear or scream when I went on this for the first time?? I wasn’t even 11 😂

If this new lap bar trains it would actually be the tied number 2 coaster for me in Australia - I think this has the best layout of almost any Eurofighter. The only one that is better is Takabisha/TMNT. The drop and camelback have extreme airtime, the inversions are great, jojo roll and drop in the dark are awesome. SUCH an underrated ride. But it's too rough with the over the shoulder restraints. Oh well! Edit, I just remembered SAW in Thorpe Park's layout is slightly better, it's practically identical to this but it has a steep straight drop off the mid course brake that doesn't slow you down, so you get an extra bit of airtime. Abyss is third in the world for Eurofighter layouts.

Anyone elses head rapidly hit the sides of the harness?

They totally *didn't* get ideas from SAW THE RIDE (the dark bit at the beginning also all of the inversions)
