I went to adventure world today and it was me and my friends first time going on it, I had a panic attack before the bit where u go straight up, after that I was completely fine tho.
Went to adventure world for the 4th time yesterday with some friends - WE MANAGED TO GO ON THE ABYSS 7 TIMES !! Overall I’ve been on it 12 or so times and it hasn’t gotten any less exciting !
This was the first rollercoaster i ever went on at 9, and i started crying at the bit where it started going straight up, saying i was gonna die or some crap, then after that first time i went on like 15 more times lol!
For those of you who are going to adventure world, terrified of rollercoasters and planning to go on the abyss this is for you. (Btw this was me and I went there for the first time when it was my 13th birthday). You see, I’m TERRIFIED of rollercoasters. I was horrified on a frozen boat ride at disneyworld, a powerpuff girls ride and a seven dwarves ride so WHAT ON EARTH made me think I could survive the abyss at adventure world? The first time I lined up for the ride, I lined up in the back seat because it’s less terrifying. It was a 10 minute wait. But when I got to the end of the line, I started panicking and I chickened out because there was noone but an 8 year old going with me. So I pretended like I totally went on the abyss to my dad and later confessed. The next time my dad went with me up the stairs and I started panicking in the line. I’m gonna be honest, I was more scared when I was waiting to ride than actually riding it myself. But later in the line I thought to myself, “Would you rather regret not going on this rollercoaster like the slinky dog ride at disneyworld?” So I sat on the seat and started literally SCREAMING. Heads up, the ride hadn’t even started yet. Keep in mind this was yesterday and I was literally 13 years old. So the rollercoaster person came to check if my belt thingy was tight and she asked me “what are you scared about?” I said “Everything, the huge drops, going upside down, literally EVERYTHING.” Then she said “ok”. Then I said “I really have to pee” (as an excuse to get off) And like she was reading my mind she said “Don’t worry, when you get to the drops just breathe in as hard as you can, hold your breath and close your eyes if you’re scared.” Then I let out a very scared “ok”. Next, she pressed the button and I started SCREAMING my lungs out. There was no turning back once she pressed that button. Then I realised, I’ve got a terrified 8 year old and an amazing dad next to me, ready to call the ambulance if I pass out. So then I finally calmed down. The ride went in a circle around the corner in a pitch black warehouse and when I least expected it, it dropped 10-12 meters down! I felt this weird feeling in my tummy when it was going down but it wasn’t too bad. Then the rollercoaster when in a twisting upside down thing and it was fine. Next we got outside of the warehouse into the light. That’s when I noticed the BIGGEST drop ahead of me. The 10m drop in the dark was bad enough, now there was one which was 25m down? HELL NAH. So I started having a literal panic attack. I was screaming “DADDY IT’S TOO HIGH! DADDY I CAN’T DO THIS! DADDYYYYYY IT’S TOO FAST!!!” Then the ride stopped for a few seconds and started to take us up 30m. This took around 6 seconds. I was screaming my lungs out when we were going up because all I could see was the sky since we were going straight vertically up. I was screaming “WHERE’S THE EMERGENCY BUTTON! WHERE!” And that’s when it happened. We shot down and I closed my eyelids so tight that blood could’ve came out. I didn’t scream bc I opened my mouth and no sound came out. Then we shot down and the feeling in my tummy was wild. But then the drop ended and we went upside down which wasn’t bad and all and the rest of the rollercoaster was smooth sailing because I could open my mouth and scream. But then the ride ended and apparently there was photos and I was soooo scared to see them. I was laughing sooo hard at this old lady who looked too terrified to even glance at the camera then I was like wait a minute...that’s....that’s ME. And then I went on the ride again after I collected myself and opened my eyes that time because I knew what to expect. But if you’re too scared to go on this ride at adventure world, I swear, call me and I will literally force you on this bc it’s so much fun, coming from someone who is TERRIFIED of ANYTHING. So pleaseeee go on this ride and don’t make yourself regret not going on the ride like I almost did. It gets scarier when you get to the front of the line but when the seatbelt person comes, just tell them what you’re scared of and they will reassure you. The rest of the ride will be soooo much fun. That was by far THE BEST rollercoaster I’ve ever been on. It was soooo much fun. Thank you adventure world!
Going to adventure world today Absolutely terrified Watching this video a lot hoping it will calm me down The only big roller coaster ive been on is the scenic one in melbourne luna park
mmm i went on this last friday, i want to go back :'( only downside on this ride is how short it is. was my first rollercoaster too, honestly glad it was this one it's my favourite so far
This one is awesome. But again, I wish they had a better system to enable people who go to Adventure World value for money, rather than being stuck in queues. Maybe limit the number of people?
My dad went on the abyss one time when he was younger and the holder that holds U in didn't work, luckily he is a strong guy and could hold on the entire ride, (the workers knew it didn't work)
So me and my friend were going on here and the worker said to put on our seat belts but little we know there was no seatbelts! And the ride was starting and we were saying “WAIT WAIT STOP” AND I WAS ALMOST CRYING AND MY FRIEND CRIED
I went on this 3 times today for the first time ☠️😂 it was so fun...idk why but I didn't feel TOO MUCH 👌🏽of a drop in my stomach, probably because I went on Goliath first which for some reason was 10 billion times scarier which I didn't expect (my stomach dropped SO MUCH I was literally screaming in pain ☠️) but anyway it was so fun but kinda rough sometimes and I banged my helix piercings against the harness 😭 but FORCING your head back and putting your hands next to your head can help 🫣
