The E36 open diff is pretty chill. I can easily do full roundabouts for as long as i want with a 318is (140hp) in some wet tarmac and 10 year old tires, it's great!
@@nastyG184I had the same and it was a blast owning it! Stiff coilovers in the back, camber and 15” wheels on 185/65-15 😂 could throw it around on dry asphalt
In rain it doesn't matter if open diff or not because even minimal power is enough to go sideways so even the wheel that gets less power from the open diff breaks traction
@@Chris-cy3uq nah, 25% is the regular BMW LSD, not even sure it was available as an option. Mine is open diff 100% almost impossible to do donuts, but for roundabouts in the wet it's good enough
Niemal wszystkie rzędowe silniki bmw z tamtych lat brzmiały tak, jakby do środka wsypał gwoździe i wspawał wydech zrobiony z puszek po coca-coli. Już nawet 1.4 z Fiata mojego ojca brzmiało lepiej, jak przedmuchało plecionkę

@@CharlieWinterTV M50 się tak szybko nie rozpierdooli Ale ciekawa sprawa z gustami ludzi, dla Ciebie przykładowo takie M50 brzmi jakby się miało rozjebać, dla mnie np te nowe R4 z popsami brzmią jakby ktoś założył puszkę na końcówkę wydechu XD a R6 kompletnie bez brzmienia. No ale każdy ma swoją opinię.
the balance of an e36 allows it to actually drift with an open diff in slippery conditions. although sometimes the diff can randomly lose it's small amount of lock and send you into a curb, it looks like you have tamed the beast.
super smooth I hope to drift with an open diff. I have a W202 C200 Kompressor. I've tried some drifting on small corners, but it's more like oversteer, and it's over quickly. I hope to control drifting around roundabouts or long corners.
Yeah, i know, what you mean. People told me to do that at parking lot. But there is nothing happening. With open diff i cant make proper donut at parking lot. So i just take the car in the streets and as we can see, it is working :D
You are a good argument that u can safe drift in a day with traffic, cause many people think when u go 5 over the speed limit u r already very dangerous and cant drive and u gonna kill someone onday
@@elzrinja365 Yeeah, i knoow. :D I am trying to use the car for daily aswell so any unwanted slides are not welcome :D I used r15 BARUM 20 years old and it was like on the ice, i was doing around 40 km/h and it was really hard to not slide :D
I love watching these videos looking for Andies who claim they're drifting but inevitably make faults that will one day wrap them around a telephone pole. But in this video, I cannot find any such fault. Bravo sir! Lol @ the phone strapped to your head hahah. If I'd pass by some guy and he had a phone taped to his head, I'd be dead. 🤣
Good question. About rust, the car is in pretty good condition in my opinion. I bought it 7 years ago and after the years I did only small repairs over the rear wheels, i mean grind off the rust etc. Undermeath the car is in good shape, no much rust at all, i did treatment against the rust a few years ago so. Engine is completly stock. Ofcourse, oil were leaking everywhere after the years - it is 1993 - so i changed every gasked around the engine, changed whole cooling system, sparks, coils and now i am changing only the oil every 10k km. But i think it is just normal maintenance of the engine. I didnt touch anything deeper in the engine, so it is stock we can say. About the diff, i have stock one, so it is open 3,45 ratio. And this one is my second. My first one diff started make a noise and it was worse and worse. In the end the diff just flew apart so i had to change it. I took diff from 260k km e36 and seems working for now. I can say, everything is stock on the car, i remove only rear muffler and replace it with pipe. Thats all, thank you for your question.
It is M50b20 and it is Vanos. We can discuss if the vanos is working or not, because the car is really slow under 3,5k rpm and after 3,5k rpm it is better, but yeah, it is not 2.5 :x Working vanos or not working, it is not huge difference in 2.0i in my opinion.
Chapu, ale fakt to open diff je :D Asi budu muset natočit video s důkazem na zvedáku :D Nicméně všechno to je díky kluzkému povrchu, v poslední době se docela začaly tyhle místa opravovat, takže už to s open diffem moc nejde no :/ :D
