It IS a super beetle. The curved windshield on the super beetle didn’t come out until 1973. All super beetles before then had the non-curved windshield. Please confirm your “facts” before you post.
From bughaus website: 1971 and 1972 Super Beetles had the "flat" windshield (well, they weren't truly flat, but lets not go into that here!). These two years used the same windshield as the standard Beetle. In 1973, the Super Beetle was redesigned and a new larger, curved windshield was added.
The flat window super beetle you have was called 1302 in Europe, the round window super beetle was the 1303. The super beetle is recognisable by the tire under the hood. If the tire is laying flat, it’s a super beetle, if it’s upright, it’s a standard beetle.
