@@derbigpr500 look at a 2013 impala w/ 100k+ miles and you'll see how ragged out cheap cars get nowadays after 10 yrs, even if it seems like a decent car it won't be long before it's a shitbox
@@DIE2dayORelse Impala's are american. They make cars to last for 2 years while someone leases them. I'm talking about real cars. The ones made in Europe. Roads (and tracks) are full of 30+ years cars running strong. Japanese cars rust away by the time they're 15 or 20.
Cool video! I have a same cu2 2.4i as yours in China. It's made in China, called Honda spirior, with 181hp k24z5 engine, a little less powerful than europe model, so it can be fuelled with 92# petrol. Exciting engine but eats so much, always holds more than 12L/100km in Beijing's traffic jam! It drives so comfortable on highway and handling really well. I like it so much, so nice to see your video!
@@ayuwanz4533 hey bro, are you still driving it? kinda hard now to see ppl owning a type S. I am driving one as well, looking for a friend or group that able to share good info or drive for a coffee after things get better.
It really is, but only if you shift in very high RPMs. For slow driving or in traffic it's a bit shaky and unsmooth. Some tuners in my area suggest modifying the software, so it behaves a bit smoother, but I'm not sure if it's worth investing.
Love my Accord in Sport mode with paddle shifting only. Would like the computer to vtec sooner. 4200 if possible instead of 5000. Would put the 2.4 into vtec on each change if I redline it. Drops below vtec due to long gears. Think it would make quite a change. Raced 325i bmw 2010 and killed it. Haha. Got killed by M4 competition next day. :( Though I looked the M4 up on internet... rhat thing is a monsterbvs my car.
Auto transmission in CU2 = designed for relaxed cruising, not for spirited driving. Gears are way too long. 90% driving in second gear all the time on curvy country roads -> no fun at all. That's why I sold it after just one year.
You are right, i had the same trans in my bmw too. However, i use this car 90% Autobahn only and for this purpose it was absolutely the right choise. For the other 10% im fine with the 1-2 sek lag. Downshifts quite nice tho
I also had the CU2 in automatic and it was the weight an the gearbox that really slowed down the car, didn't feel like 201 PS at all. But cruising was really good. I had the Type-R EP3 before this car and it was another world of driving
Absolute Empfehlung!
I don't have numbers for that but I would say definitely yes, you loose some torque in low revs and the automatic takes a second right before redline, this isnt the case in manual cars I think
No the windows are all up, you cant see in the video but the roof is a bit open. However, in comparison with my older bmw or other sedans this car has a loud road noice. I tried so fix that a bit by stuffing more insulation behind the door trims and unter the back seats and in the boot. It helped a bit, but this is one of the big weak points of this car. I heard that the facelifted version from 2012 and newer are quite better in this point.
V-Tec engages at around 5100rpm. So sure you have to rev this box totaly out, mine has good tourqe in the low 2000-3500s and starts to run at 5000 till 6700rpm (everything above is just more noise in my opinion) Typical character for a N/A Honda engine
That makes this car somehow economical and still gives you the option to thrash threw petrol and cruise some curves or start stress some golf guys on the autobahn
@@twixlifestyle redline mine on 7200. Killed 325i automatic bmw about same age as my car. From 3rd 140km/h with 2 people vs golf gti 6 with 1 person on real high climb. Saw the smoke as the gti pushed and I pushed. He was infront of me as I was following him past the trucks. We did not move. I did not gain, nor did he pull for about 600 meters. Love how easily the accord takes 200km/h and passes that mark easily
For my purpose of driving long distances it suits very fine, but you're right, the Manual gives the car a whole new feeling. The thing with the intake/exhaust will be made in future ... i think. This things are not that easy to bolt on here in germany with all the regulations and very few tüv certified parts you can choose from. This cars don't drive that ofthen over here, i think thats why Honda canceled all accords in general for europe after this model run.
Very reliable cars. The engine is bullet proof, mine had none issues so far and I'm really thrashing it. The body's can rust a lot, would take a look from under the car and check for holes. Brakes can be a bit of an issue on the 8 gen accords. The 7 is lighter a lot
Got accord ex 2.4 i-vtec 2010 and got 6.5l /100km on motorway constant drive. All judgement and calculations was done after 2500 km trip. In town not 6.5l..........
Sorry. On the Highway i need about 7 liters per 100km. When i'm driving like in the Video it shoots up to 12-14l per 100km. But its possible to drive it with 6,5l per 100km when you drive not above 110kmh
@@twixlifestyle Actually i find out on my one 2.4 Auto cruise control 115- 120 7.0 / 100 if i go up to 130 im getting 6.8. Around 100 yes same will be around 6.5. Town on short distances 11-12 but only with reasonable driving. As well relly good engine for LPG
@@twixlifestyle I'm been having civic 1.5 with old type of lpg, civic 1.6 with vtec again old type of lpg and accord with 2.0 with lpg injection never had a issue
You should at least feel a bit of vtec from around 4,500RPM. Its not very loud on this engine stock wise cuz of only one cam is a vtec cam. This was made for better fuel efficiency. If you swap valve cover and the second cam you will hear it very loud and clear
@@twixlifestyle that explains it. I qas wonder which kind of ivtec i have. Now i know its i vtec e k24z2 i think u have z3. Well having the valve cover switched is nice for the second valve, but i would been need to change the exhaust as well to compensate for the air flow. I think the computer would need to be programmed to run with the change as well. I just bought the car so i dont have the money for all these changes. Also go to school too so ill just leave the car the way it is.
In City around 10 liters per 100 kilometers on 102 octane fuel. Autobahn 7l/100km. So i use combined around 8.5l on average :) If you realy want to save fuel it's possible to drive it with 6 liters, but Not fun at all
Jain.
CU2 is the Generation / Model Type Code. CU are the Accord 8 Sedans and CW are the Touring cars. The 1 stands for the 2.0 Petrol Engine, the 2 for the 2.4 Petrol variant and the 3 for the 2.2 diesel. So in this case the CU2 stands for Accord 8 Sedan with 2.4 V-Tec engine.
Honda halt :D
For a 4 cylinder engine without turbo its pretty darn good sounding, i own one with 2.4L i-vtec engine, and it really screams. Its a good financial decision to buy this type of accord bcz i have it for 6 years now and all i really did is oil change, never ever had problem with this car...and its also sporty for a family sedan. 😁
