Sonic Adventure 2 (Japanese: ソニックアドベンチャー2 Hepburn: Sonikku Adobenchā Tsū?) is a platform video game developed by Sonic Team USA and published by Sega for the Dreamcast console and the last Sonic game to be released for a Sega console and is a sequel to 1998's Sonic Adventure. It was released in North America, Europe, and Japan in June 2001 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Sonic the Hedgehog series. The game was ported to the Nintendo GameCube and re-titled Sonic Adventure 2 Battle (ソニックアドベンチャー2 バトル Sonikku Adobenchā Tsū Batoru?), with brand-new features as well as minor changes in the level design. The original game and content from Battle was released in high-definition on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade in October 2012. A version for Microsoft Windows was released in November 2012.
The game takes place after the events of its predecessing game: Sonic Adventure. The series antagonist Doctor Eggman releases Shadow the Hedgehog, who joins Eggman and treasure hunter Rouge the Bat to steal the seven Chaos Emeralds. The game's story focuses on the protagonists Sonic the Hedgehog, Knuckles the Echidna and Miles "Tails" Prower as they attempt to stop Eggman and Shadow from collecting the Chaos Emeralds.

Literally me every single time I load up SA2, immediately go to the Chao Garden and just lay there, and forget about all your worries

The year is 2004. Im in third grade, and baby sister was in the womb at the time. Im undergoing my first ever eye surgery, for my right eye. The eye surgeon asks me “which do you prefer, bubble gum, or grape? (anestethic)” Of course I chose grape and the next thing I remember is waking up in my bedroom with “Live and Learn” playing on my tv. My mom knew that since I would be bedridden for about 4 weeks till my eye healed and out of school (which, at the time, I despised since it made me feel my friends were getting ahead of me in general (cant really describe it)) She knew I would play SA2 religiously as a comfort pick, and out of gratefulness out of her motherly efforts and my appreciation for the game in general (and the fact I couldn’t play the action stages effectively since my good eye had undergone surgery) urged me to start playing the chao garden to staggering amounts. I remember being able to beat the final race against the chaos chao by the time my eye had finally healed. Creating an everlasting bond between the chao garden itself and my newborn sis at the time. (Whom I wasted no timing dubbing her as a chao with how adorable she was and still is). Chao garden really turned what was physically supposed to be a dark moment (loss of sight) for me into a bright memory. Unmatched by any other kind of video game.

As nostalgic as the Neutral Garden is, I HAVE to give it to the Hero Garden... Has the most relaxing music and atmosphere, and it started off with a visible, audible Chao convo!

Was born in 1997, but I only got into SA2 through the Xbox 360 HD port of it, and been a fan of it ever since. I still wish I could go back in time and tell my fam to pick me up a copy of SA2 for my Gamecube, so I could have even more years of enjoying this game

This brings me back so many good memories I love taking care of these little guys. Relaxing playing with them I would spend more time there then the story mode. and when I accidentally hurt them it made me feel so bad I love them to death so cute.

I never played the Sonic Adventure games since I was born in 2000, but I recently fell in love with the Chao thanks to videos like these. I now understand why so many people love the gardens to this day.

It’s still comfort even as a fully-grown adult. The garden themes just make me feel “everything’s fine.” A direct link to happy childhood memories. A welcome reprieve from the anxiety and nightmare of adult life otherwise.

Man... I just got hardcore blindsided by nostalgia. I'm playing Warcraft 3 rn and I remember a big part of my childhood was me and my brothers in the same room, going round robin on whatever we could. One of us on handheld playing pokemon, one of us on computer playing Warcraft 3, one of us on the TV playing SA2B.

Born in 2001, played SA2 on my game cube and then I played it on my 360 when I got older but then I lost it and now I lose sleep over where my chaos are 😭🤣 love your videos! ❤

I really like SA1. The gameplay is more fluid (lol spin dash everywhere) than SA2's, the level designers' idea of difficulty isn't to have a G.U.N. robot drop from the sky right in front of you with no prior warning, and the treasure hunting levels are frankly way better. I even like the Chao theme way more. But SA2 has better chao mechanics, and that's literally the best part of the games, so I play SA2 more lol

Yes yes yes, except i was the cheaped out on middle child so i got the gamecube in 2010, that shiz was new to me though and I played endlessly. So glad to be getting back into chao's again and your shorts and stuff make it feel so much easier like im not the only one wasting days raising chao.
